Alex Gerrard: Ankle Injury Looks Sorted

image

Alex Gerrard was out and about in Liverpool today – it’s the start of Liverpool Fashion Week, and she’s expected to be at several of the shows and events.

In her latest column for New magazine, Alex says the recent story about her husband Steven Gerrard’s favourite book being Of Mice and Men is completely false.  “The only books I’ve ever seen him read are sports biographies!“ she writes.

Shame. We loved the idea of bibliophile Stevie with a smoking pipe reading classics by the fire.  Alex also admits she’s not much of a book fan, and that she prefers to read magazines about “real people.“

Right. So, we’re not done yet.

We’ve also learned – via her column – that Alex has an ankle injury stopping her from working out (she’s on a new fitness regime). Don’t worry though, Alex fans – she says she’s made an appointment with Stevie’s physiotherapist to get it sorted. Take note of the therapeutic footwear.

EDIT: For those making enquiries, they are indeed, shorts.

  3. Dreamgirl says:

Looks like the fashion week doesn’t come a minute too soon for poor Alex.

As for the book. Stevie has probably read ‘Of Mice and Men’ because it has been part of the secondary school curriculum for god knows how long.

  4. The Fourth Official says:

"Magazines about real people". Alex should be a lab experiment to see if it's possible to walk, talk and breath without possessing a single functioning brain cell.

  5. GO says:

Is it this hot in Liverpool this time of the year?

  6. carly says:

I don't know what to say. This is simply too horrendous, all of it.

  8. LizB (Mrs. Vucinic) says:

She does look rather nice, for a change. Though I might retract that statement if it turns out those are shorts. I too covet that purse :D And clearly it wasn't a serious ankle injury if she's wearing those shoes. *shakes head*

  9. FirstTeamCoach says:

    ‘REAL PEOPLE’ BAWAHAAAAAAAAAA.

  10. FootballerChick43 - "Mrs.Ballack" says:

Dude, those shorts would have made a much better skirt and I totally wasn’t going to say anything about the outfit until I read that. Ew. And her footwear? Gerrard’s phsyio must be an effing miracle worker if she can walk in those things without pain. Take it from someone who injures her ankle on a weekly basis.

She has an ankle injury and can't exercise BUT can strut around Liverpool in those heels? WTF! Can't see Alex reading. She probably just likes the pretty pictures.lose that girl blog

  12. Erin says:

Are those…..snow leopard SHORTS? With tights and heels? In winter? *sigh* Alex, I thought we talked about this…

Not surprised about the Stevie book thing, since it shocked me to begin with. Stevie fully admits in his own book that he wasn’t much into the studious thing. It’s ok, though, Stevie. You’re cute and you kick a ball really hard. ;)

  13. Zoe says:

in one version of Stevie’s autobiography (maybe abridged for younger fans) it actually says
“my favourite book at school was Of Mice And Men… i read it from cover to cover so many times the book almost fell apart”
so it was his favourite once, but whether it still is, who knows!
    ps..lush shoes :D

  20. Kahtilyn13 says:

Love the shoes, love the bag, the rest can go.

  21. Baby Freya (Mrs Arbe says:

The the whole outfit but I don't think Stevie's physiotherapist would have prescribed those heels as sensible ankle saving footwear!

  22. Avenath says:

Dear Alex, no physiotherapist in the world can heal your ankle if you continue to wear shoes like that while traipsing about Liverpool shopping and getting chased by the paps…Love, The One Who Should Be Mrs. Gerrard.

  23. Rusty, aka Frau Clem says:

wow, I twisted both ankles merely LOOKING at this picture.

  24. HiL says:

So I guess all the Kickettes who had doubt in Stevie reading books was right after all XD I totally bought it, he did seem intellectual to me at first but woops! I guess not so much :P i don’t like her skirt.

  25. CJ says:

she looks freezing…is it really that warm to be wearing shorts?! and LOL to her having an injury yet walking in 5″ boots, she’s a few screws loose.

  26. Boston Red says:

Oooh she looks good. This might be my favorite outfit she’s ever worn. Although I share Erin’s sentiment about the bottoms (shorts? skirt? can’t tell). I covet the jacket and the bag… and the shoes. And the ring and watch. Oy.
