Bad Bathers: Scott Parker & Jamie Redknapp

image

West Ham’s Scott Parker has been relaxing in the Caribbean with his family whilst recuperating from a knee injury. He’s also suffering from a terrible case of Bad Bathers, a serious disease that can dangerously strike simple and plain fabrics without warning. One can only assume the matching father/son trunks were a gift from a well-meaning yet intoxicated in-law or a random crazy employed by the hotel lobby swimsuit shop.

Jamie and Louise Redknapp are also getting their sun/swim/sea hook up and have been papped hanging out with the Parkers in typical no-news-because-we’re-normal style.

Question: can anyone explain why when Jamie Redknapp wears a pair of flower-print Bermuda shorts we have no severe nor damaging physical reactions (he is quite nummy as per usual), but Alan Shearer’s version leaves us hive-stricken? Click through to view, download, discuss, etc.

Jamie Redknapp is timeless, classic and always looks completely shaggable – him and David Beckham are the only two ballers who have ever aroused such strength of feeling within me. The Ronaldos of this world come and go, their paths assisted by sliding on the grease they put on their hair, but Redknapp and Beckham remain at the top of their game. God, I need a lie down now…

    Hi there, Louise. How about it? <img src="http://www.kickette.com/images/smileys/wink.gif" width="19" height="19" alt="wink" style="border:0;" /> :p

OK ppl. I don’t mind you all looking at my man – I can cope with that, but all this talk of “using” him is getting me in a jealous rage. Get your mitts of my man.

  7. MrsXabiAlonso says:

OK maybe if Scotty rolled up those shorts a little bit and made them more cutesy hot pants (may look pretty gay but oh well) and showed us some more thigh action then id let him off. As it stands nooo amount of hot bod is gonna make up for matching butterfly shorts, even while on holiday.

As for Mr Redknapp, he can do NO wrong!! Cut me off a slice of that………

    I Love Jamie, How Fit Does He Look <img src="http://www.kickette.com/images/smileys/raspberry.gif" width="19" height="19" alt="raspberry" style="border:0;" />
I Think Hes Wearing The Shorts As A Disguise, So People Wont recognise him Lol

I Am In Total Love With Jamie Redknapp, Therefore I See Through The Flowery Shorts.. They’re not That Bad.
    And The Scott Parker Situ. I Think Its Cute But Just A Little Feminine <img src="http://www.kickette.com/images/smileys/raspberry.gif" width="19" height="19" alt="raspberry" style="border:0;" />
    I Miss Jose Too :(

I miss Jose too, and I was never exactly an admirer. Wonder where he’ll pop up? Don’t get your hopes up it will be in England – these days, that would be like happily skipping up to the executioner’s block. SAF was rude, Elise, but WTF – he’s earned it, I guess. Saudi Arabia was a farce, a money-grab, and it made me angry on a variety of levels, not the least of which was that a woman cannot attend a football match in Saudi Arabia. And, just to keep this on topic, how about those boys in their trunks? THIS is what we all need on a grey, snowy cold day (at least where I live.) Seriously, I’m going to right-click on Mr. Jamie Redknapp and use him for my desktop today. <img src="http://www.kickette.com/images/smileys/wink.gif" width="19" height="19" alt="wink" style="border:0;" />

TFO ‘used’ Jamie Redknapp today. I am greatly amused.

  12. Io says:

Tough call on the butterfly swim trunks… on one hand they’re pretty but on the other hand they look like sleepwear!

..and as someone whose been looking for cute pjs for the past month, I just wish that I’d find some in this uber cute butterfly pattern!

  13. MrsJamieRedknapp says:

DAMN! That man can do no wrong!! I lurve him so much, even in questionable holiday attire.

Scott Parker and mini scott look so cute, I can ignore the butterflies.

  14. brandy says:

Wow. Jaime is allowed to wear anything IMO, as long as a shirt is not involved…!

  15. cheryl bites says:

    *Joins in the random Jos

  16. tammyv says:

    Elise,

I have that Jose thought, at least twice a day…

Jose, seriously baby, just get it done and sign on someone’s dotted-line and soon

  17. Elise says:

Wow. I’ve never paid much attention to Jamie Redknapp but he’s all kinds of tasty in this pic, even with those questionable trunks.

Well, Fourth, sorry about the way that Saudi Arabia thing went. I saw the highlights on Sky and when the third goal went in I swear your boys were giving off some ‘whatever’ vibes. Wasn’t it a testimonial for one of the Saudi players? Maybe Man U were feeling charitable. And now here’s Fergie in trouble over his ‘gestures’. I think about him the way I did about Mourinho- that’s just who he is, so get over it! The Special One and Sir Alex should just always get a pass- should be an official rule (unless of course the offense is against Chelsea, and then all bets are off!) God, I am having such a moment of ‘I miss Jose’ right now. It still strikes me sometimes as so completely absurd and incomprehensible that he’s gone from Chelsea. sigh….

  18. michelle TN says:

Ah, bad vacation clothes. This just reminds me of the time that my friends bought light weight cotton capris with hideous patterns that were acceptable for backpacking but would never make the cut for day to day wear. LOL—it’s pretty funny that everyone does this (well, except me, sorry i’m a little vain <img src="http://www.kickette.com/images/smileys/wink.gif" width="19" height="19" alt="wink" style="border:0;" /> )

  19. Robin says:

I think they both look fab. The flowered shorts are actually used as swim trunks here in Cali and you can pretty much get away with anything if it’s a swim suit.
    Besides – I love butterflies.

  20. carly says:

    TFO: that was funny <img src="http://www.kickette.com/images/smileys/lol.gif" width="19" height="19" alt="LOL" style="border:0;" />

    I think they all look adorable, ridiculous shorts included… <img src="http://www.kickette.com/images/smileys/smile.gif" width="19" height="19" alt="smile" style="border:0;" />

  21. Johnna says:

Do me now Jamie Redknapp. Please.

  22. c9 says:

For me Jaime’s shorts are perfectly fine. These type of shorts are considered normal where he is and actually quite nice, BUT, I must agree with Mr. Parkers selection, although it’s very cute to match his adorable son, the butterflies seem to be a little to feminine for him:red: . It’s nice to know that he is having some family time and both of them getting some sun <img src="http://www.kickette.com/images/smileys/cheese.gif" width="19" height="19" alt="cheese" style="border:0;" />

I believe that I can sum it up like this.. the difference is the still rock-solidly fantastic non flower-print shorts covered parts on Mr. Redknapp. God he is pretty…

And I think the daddy and me shorts are adorable. It is impossible for that pic not to be cute.

  24. The Fourth Official says:

Evrz just got knocked off the bench. That would be fantastic eh? Getting injured while sitting on the bench in Saudi Arabia?

  25. The Fourth Official says:

    Nice bods.

Okay, um, back to the question at hand. It’s a fact that most people wear clothes while vacating in sunny spots that they would never wear anywhere else. I’ll admit that I own some Lilly Pulitzer stuff that I only ever wear while on golfing holidays in the sun. <img src="http://www.kickette.com/images/smileys/embarrassed.gif" width="19" height="19" alt="red face" style="border:0;" />

  26. The Fourth Official says:

Sorry, guys, I’m posting on the live match thread at Republik of Mancunia, commentating on the Man United match in Saudi Arabia, and I’ve got four browser windows open at once. Apologies.
