Bad Clothes, Long Weekends
Please enjoy this fashion forward gorgessity that is Liverpool’s Andriy Voronin and his wife Yulia. Mrs. V chose not only to wear a leopard print track suit in a public arena, but to accessorize it with high heels and a smile. Forget chavtastic. It’s Yuliatastic. Elen Rives better watch her back, someone is trying to take her crown.

YIKES! For as awful as their outfits are – they look happy and I like the gratuitous hand holding.
Tammy V – those Frank/Elen pix are so typical of them! Frank has put on one of Elen’s shiny gold shirts and gawd knows where she found her outfit. Feeling generous after the long weekend, I will say Elen’s hair and make up looked wonderful *blushing* never thought I’d say that!

Elen is still the queen of fashion disasters, if only because (as someone mentioned earlier), her clothes look as though a designer actually made them. these outfits look like…a young couple from the suburbs got dressed up in their finery from the mid-90s for a big day in the city. in nyc, we’d call it bridge & tunnel.

I 2nd TFO’s evaluation, it’s not entirely Yulia’s fault. I’ve got a couple Ukranian friends who are just the sweetest things ever, but oh dear… I’ve been invited to join them and their Ukranian girlfriends’ for a night out… but I’ve seen their myspace pages as they enjoy photographically documenting their ummm… eveningwear hotness. Reading through all the photo comments is a little hysteria inducing it’s so funny. “Hi beautiful! (something in ukranian) You ladies are sooo hot in this picture!“
And no, they don’t shy away from putting on the slinkiest outfits even when their figures don’t justify the boldness.

Oh dear. The pair of them look dodgy. Well, blame it on this. I have travelled a lot in Russia and the Ukraine, and a couple of my family members are married to Ukrainian women. Let me say that they are lovely, funny, warm people. And the women are truly beautiful. However, in general, they are not what we would term “tasteful” in their dress. I don’t know if it’s because their economy has only recently begun to flourish, and they are like kids in a candy store when presented with the influx of Western fashions and goods. But everything they wear is over the top - too tight, too shiny, too short, too revealing, or just fugly. They haven’t learned discernment in fashion yet.
Okay, I’m just being charitable because it’s Easter. I’ll be back to normal on Monday.

Because I know nothing about Yulia (and am part Ukrainian), this outfit doesn’t faze me. Though I can chalk part of this up to the fact that I am so stressed out from moving that I seriously don’t care.
