Yeah, I miss him at OT when I see the other boys, but then I think of some of the incredibly matches at Madrid and watching him play with those guys as well was really really special. Whether they called Becks, Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo, galacticos or not (which they HATED), add them to Roberto Carlos, Raul, Iker, etc etc and there was some breathtaking football played even in seasons without trophies. And last season’s celebrations? Not a dry eye the house. Nice to hear what the Spanish press and fans (all over Spain) said about him in the months before he left. We could have been writing it ourselves!
I try not to be sad about the move and only one thing helps. Even though he has the LA paps who are crazy, you see pictures of him doing so many things here that he hasn’t been able to do anyplace else in the world for so many years—whether going to basketball games or a concert or the beach with his kids, he’s not famous enough here to attract the kinds of crowds he does elsewhere (for better and worse). He’s never complained about the constraints, but its nice to see him doing the “normal” things the rest of us take for granted at their age.
And actually one of he’s best friends is in a place much worse than LA!! Phil Neville is stuck at *pukes* Everton!!!! Now that is BAD!!!
Oh god yeah! If David had stayed then Ronaldo wouldn’t be in our lives!! Why David, why did you have to leave?????

I regret that I never got to watch him play for United. The worst part being that his best friends, well some of them, are still there and might go on to win another CL, whereas he’s stuck in LA.
But his replacement’s not too bad, so we can’t complain!
