Breaking Trouser-Tearing News: Nicklas Bendtner & Caroline Fleming Call It Quits?

Image: seoghoer.dk via Thomas Laursen. Thx for the tip, Elsebeth & NK!

UPDATE: Danish paper, Ekstra Bladet, approached Nicklas’ manager (aka his father) for a quote, to which he offered a generic, ‘No comment’. The publication then requested to speak with the footballer himself, with Grandpa B. saying, ‘No, he has a game in an hour. And he doesn’t have any comments to this story either!’

We still aren’t sure how definitive the couple’s break up is – if at all – but judging on Dad’s reaction, could there be trouble in paradise? We’ll continue to follow this developing story and provide our Kickettes with all the irrelevant pieces of (non)information that we can.

-

Everybody’s favourite jewellery dreamer and his Baroness have already called time on their whirlwind romance – which included their on-camera lovematch, followed by a swift move to London and baby boy born shortly after their one year anniversary. With a 13 year age gap between the two, we can’t say we didn’t see it coming.

As of now, Danish media reports say that Caroline plans to fight Nicky B. for full custody of their teensy weensy, bubble-jacket encased son, and that she’s asking for some of his moola. Again, no shocker there.

I have to disagree with you. Sometimes the child is better off with one parent having sole custody for a variety of reasons. And, as Angela posted, full custody doesn't mean Nicklas would never get to see his son nor share in decision making regarding his welfare.

    I do have to wonder if her hormones being out of wack after just giving childbirth might have something to do with it? Every woman's experience is different, just like some women's PMS is more severe than others, but maybe once her body/emotions get back on kilter, they can work this all out. ={

  3. naylovee says:

Angela- No no, I meant like.. If she was thinking about her child's future, she would know that sooner or later they'd want to see the father. That's what I meant about thinking about her own self, not caring about the child.

  4. Soon2beWifeOfNAsri says:

Ermmm i fail to see why my comment got deleted Kickette?? it wasnt offensive was it??

  5. Alisha Jane MacPhee says:

YESSSSSSS! Nicky's free :D Hope she doesn't get custody of baby Bendy though :|

  6. Daniela says:

should have seen this coming but i thought it'd be different you know?
i actually thought they'd stay together. at least for the kid! and if not that, not ask for full custody. that's just low.

  7. @AgnesWonka says:

YES! I knew it! Relationships like this don't last!!!
    Glad he's single again!!!!!!!

  8. simone says:

knew it knew it knew it

  9. Crackers says:

Ok, the little one is what, a month old? Considering she's probably still breastfeeding at this stage, I can see how full custody would be kind of necessary- it doesn't mean Nicky gets no rights over his child, but they do have to consider what's best for the bubba, and at this stage at least it looks like he should stay with his mum.

Also: we have no idea what caused the split, or whose fault it was, or if it was anyone's fault at all. It's kind of unfair to go blaming Caroline right off the bat because she's been divorced once before/is planning to ask for child support/whatever.

  10. Maribel says:

Wow, this is pretty ridiculous. I mean, didn't they JUST have that baby? I feel sorry for the innocent child…born into a mess.

  11. Isabella says:

^^ Yep, that is true, some of the Footballers are very bad boys…

  12. Leya_S says:

    What the F***?!?!
She's a freaking Baronness, I fail to see why she needs more money.
And sole custody just seems really unnecessary. It's like, "Hey thanks for being my sperm donor, so I could birth more hot kids. What's that? You thought you were going to be the kid's full time dad? Oh, Nicky, your litle 23-yrd old self, you're so naive." We still love you Nicky. Fight for your rights as a dad!

    • Crackers says:

Well the baby is what, a month old? She's probably still breastfeeding, so makes sense she'd ask for custody.

Also, we have no idea whether the split was acrimonious or amicable (I don't trust tabloids). I mean, she appears to be on good terms with her last ex, let's not go jumping to conclusions that she's some evil sperm-collecting witch who booted Nicky the minute she had the kid.

  13. Angela says:

You are so offbase when it comes to custody diputes and child's experience that it's not even funny. How can you even say that she doesn't care for her child just because she wants full custody? Full custody does not mean Nick would not have visitation rights.

  14. Céline says:

Wait, wait, so they broke up?? what a timing after justing having had a baby?
    way to go Nick.. eww

  15. Elisa says:

Wait…wasn't there the whole thing where because she's not divorced, Nicky has no rights to the child because he isn't recognized as the father? Or some crazy law like that?

Provided he's a good guy (which I honestly don't really know, I'm just guessing), I hope that he gets access to the kid.

  16. naylovee says:

Now I aint sayin she a gold digga, but she aint messin with no broke broke. –

  17. Tricia says:

Why does everyone rush to blame the woman? Don't we know enough about footballers by now to know that most of them are fairly unsuccessful at being decent human beings?

    • xoWinnie says:

i'm not blaming her, but this sounds like a Halle Berry situation to me.
date younger man, have wild passionate sex with him all day, get pregnant,
have baby with practically flawless genes, kick him to the curb,
be a total raging bitch if he has anything to say about involvement in child's life.

the one difference in this case is; take him to the cleaners while at it.
(hot as he was, Gabriel doesn't have all that much for Halle to take,
      it's the other way around)

  18. nandosfreckles says:

well that was quite unexpected, they seemed pretty happy together and i really hate seeing parents fight for custody, it's unfair on the kid, i mean what could have possibly gone wrong?

hope she doesn't get full custody, i mean nicky is the kids father he hasn't done anything wrong (not like he's abusive or a drugs addict for gods sake), anyway i hope things work out in the end.

  19. gin_in_teacups says:

Wow. I don't know much about the Baroness but Christ on a bike, her love life is a mess! Isn't she not even officially divorced from her husband or something? And now she and Nicklas are splits, like, minutes after their baby is born? It's really sad.

I don't like the sound of her getting full custody (and I do like to be judgmental) but maybe it's not as bad as it sounds? Maybe it has something to do with the fact that a footballer's life involves traveling around all the time and she isn't trying to keep the baby away from Nicklas, just make sure that the home environment is as stable as possible given the circumstances?

  20. Carvivlie says:

Isn't she getting a settlement of like 500m from the Baron???? Nick should be asking her for money :)

    • Soon2beWifeOfNAsri says:

WHAT £500 million BIG ONES!! damn if she IS gettin that money and still wants some of NICKY B kerching, what is the world comin 2….

  21. Cara says:

Feel sorry for Nicklas, just when he was getting his family together and with his little bubba was a sure sign of things to come it all goes pear shaped for him. He isnt like the Cristiano Ronaldo's of this world, doesnt deserve this.

The age gap is irrelevant, 1, 2 or 13 years shouldnt matter.. Not when they are fully grown adults.

    • xoWinnie says:

it does in this case. he's clearly not mature enough for her.
whatever she wants/needs, she probably wasn't getting it from him.

    • Ashley says:

Now why the hell you have to bring Cristiano into this. JFC, how do you know he doesn't deserve this. He probably does. He could be an abuser in private, you don't know shit about him.

      • Cara says:

        Wow calm down.

And do you know Cristiano? No probably not. Yet you feel the need to defend him like your defending your best friend. Cristiano shows more of the d#&*khead signs then Nicklas.

How can anybody deserve their family broken up and why did you bring abuser into it? Does he seem like an abuser to you from what you know about him? Has Caroline ever looked scared or abused when she has been pictured with him? Do you ever get that feeling from them? No and thats a really horrible assumption to make.

        • Juli says:

I don't feel that there was any reason to bring Cron into the discussion simply because he has nothing to do with their situation. Like Cron or don't like him the media is never a fair way to know how a person is in private. Sensationalized tabloid stories-do you believe everything you read in tabs? I don't feel it was fair to of the other poster to make unfounded accusations of abuse either. Hopefully this situation will be resolved for the good of the most important person involved-the child.

          • Cara says:

I know that Cristiano doesnt like it but I was saying it because he is the one that normally has all this rubbish about him so its more associated with Cristiano then it is for anyone else tbh. Also you dont hear countless stories of Nicklas bonking uncountable girls all over the world, you do with Cristiano. Thats what I was saying yet Ashley took it personally and then started throwing around accusations.

        • Deb Stimson says:

Cara, the problem is that there are many types of abusers. AND they come in all colors, races and social statuses. Does that mean Nicklas is one…no. But we really don't know what happens behind closed doors so it's always a possiblity….I'm just sayin…

  22. SoccerrLoverrr says:

I'm nah surprised..I didnt really like them together..Just to let you know Nicky B, im always here for you! ;)

  23. chay says:

i don't think it's fair to say you saw this coming (despite the doomed act of tattooing a significant others' name on your body). There are plenty of relationships with age gaps that survive–and plenty of "normal" (i.e., socially acceptable, and frankly, i stick my middle finger up in the air to socially acceptable :-P ) relationships that end up in breakup/divorce. That list is one hundred-fold longer and worse, really.

However, this was quite a shock to the start of my thurs morning. They seemed so good together. Such a shame …

Does this mean i have my chance with mr. dane? :-D

    Whaaaaaaaaaa!?

I seriously weren't expecting this. I thought they were pretty good together. I didn't realise Caroline was a total bitch.

I hope Nicklas is OK with all this, and I hope he does't lose custody of his kid. It's their child they should be thinking about here, not money or anyone/thing else. He's the most important one in this, they should do what's best for him. (does the baby have a name yet?)

  26. Thea says:

Can't say I am surprised. Reckon that the Baroness's impending divorce and the ££$$$£££ it's costing her will have been the major factor in this…… I'm just saying……………………
