Breaking News: Sergio Ramos Gets The Chop – UPDATED
UPDATED: Here’s another shot of the cut, styled and dried. And, in other Sergio news, he seems to have “out-Sergio’d” himself with this new bag. Dying.
Few moments in our history are as big as this. Cristiano becoming a baby daddy. The Iker beard-shaving incident. Victoria Beckham wearing flat shoes.
Deep breaths.
So, let’s just state the obvious: our beloved Sergio Ramos has cut his hair. He debuted his new look on Twitter today, and we’re thinking that perhaps he took along a picture of an old school Zac Efron on his way to the hairdressers.
While Sergio looks very pleased with his new scissor-happy look, we want to know what you think. Is The Ramos’s new ‘do’ fabulous or fug, Kickettes? Are you popping corks celebratory style, or numbing the pain with cake/mainlining margaritas? We would hate to influence your decision in any way, but we think this link (via ONTD) adequately sums up our reaction to the news.
Still, much like our feelings for reality telly and cheap wine, our love for SR is unchanging. We just need a ‘mo. Pick yourself up off the floor and talk to us, soldier girls.

Just took a look at the updated pic of the hair. Kickette, are you sure that’s new? Either the Ramos has a favorite short hair-don’t that he’s been returning to more than once, or that’s an old pic, because I could have SWORN I’ve seen that one before. Here, in fact, on Kickette. I’m using it as my MSN pic because of that smile that makes me ridiculously happy.

haha that hair is probably more expensive than my iPhone but man does it look it cheesy and dodgy? I love his long hair, but if he really wanted to have a 'new look' then he should've cut it the same length as Iker or Xabi. Man, I didn’t actually think he was gonna cut his hair…his long hair seemed like such an essential part of his being…I can’t say whether I love it or hate it yet because there needs to be more photos with better lighting and different angles. Anyways, I have 3 more points to make:
1) At least it’s not nearly as ugly as that cut he got awhile ago…that was heinous.

As previously stated by brilliant women much calmer than i first was, its impossible to really get the real picture of how his hair looks in the pic, especially compounded with the gross i-hang-out-with-Crispy-too-much mirrored shades and the just-got-in-a-fight-with-a-greaser-and-lost Bieber-side-sweep. I wish he had gone shorter and really committed. Someone mentioned Xabi-short would have been nice and I agree…
and on an unrelated note, did Xabi shave his beard yet? I miss his beautiful face!
All that aside, Sergi still is and will always be gorgeous, and as long as he keeps the headbands I’ll allow it!
I think that Sergio would self implode if he cut his hair to Xabi’s length. I’d like to see it, but I think it would kill him.

Well, first off, I’m a new reader here (been lurking since the World Cup) so hi everybody!! Absolutely LOVE the site and really like the atmosphere in the comments section.
Now, to the haircut in question: my first reaction was “oh, honey, NO” followed quickly by a “why, oh why!!!!” and “if only you could take your top off to ease us in”
It took me a long, long time to really appreciate his sexyness (like up to the World Cup) and now look at this Bieber-ish mullet…!!!!!!
Love The Ramos, HATE.THE.NEW.HAIR! I mean, not plain dislike, but HATE.
If he wanted to honour his WC bet, why didn’t he buzz his hair as he said? Now that, MAYBE, could have been something, but THIS… This, you sexy beast, is total and utter FUG.
Still, my favourite Ramos’s look is long silky Indio de Camas hair + headband + arms over Iker and Torres shoulders + face looking up to the sky right before the match starts, so I guess I’d hate the buzzed look just as much. And that would definitely mean no headband, so as other kickettes said, I think the best route would be:
1)Take a deep breath
2)Think of the abs, think of the abs, think of the abs… The smile, thighs and overall sexyness will also help.
3)Wait for La Liga to start so he’ll have to ditch A)Ditch those shades, for the love of God!! B)Wear his kit, no danger there.
4)Pray for the headband to stay!!
Well, sorry for the long post, but when I saw this on his Twitter I thought the only thing for me to do was come to Kickette and vent!!

Well, what do you think, what was the center of my interest? I gotta tell you, Sergy has so many wonderfull parts, mmmmm! He was already in the locker room, I thaught there's no one there! I don't think it looks as good as the long hair, and I do hope he continues to wear the headband. I mean, honestly, if he keeps us happy by continuing to take his shirt off, I am not going to pay that much attention to his hair anyway.

I've gone through so many emotions since first seeing this. Shock, horror, trauma, sadness, curiosity, acceptance, back to horror. I don't like this photo of it for sure, but as with all things Ramos, I know I'll grow to love it.

I’m trying to remain calm. He’s had short hair before and worn the headband with it, so I think it’ll be ok. And OMG I had never considered having my own Ramos customized headband, but now that you’ve said that I really want one!

True. Had a few hours to digest this change, and I have some thoughts.
Too many things are happening with this photo- those sunnies, the odd photo angle and wet hair on top of THE SHOCK cut/butchering. No way can we judge the haircut accurately yet. So let’s give Sergio a chance to re-post a better pic.
I’m just not sure if this style will look like a short ‘Rachel’ if voluminous, or oil slick if straightened. All else fails, hair is hair; it’ll grow out either way!
