Breaking Pitter Patter News: The Gerrards Welcome Their Third Daughter

Steven Gerrard’s wife, Alex, has popped, Kickettes, giving the LFC captain a hat-trick of daughters. Around 4pm GMT today, Lourdes Gerrard arrived into this world at a hospital in Liverpool, presumably with her mini-me Alexander Wang bag in tow. This pretty-in-pink bundle of baby weighed in at 7lb 15oz, the midfielder’s spokesman said.
Stevie was there to help Alex through her delivery (we have no clue if it was au natural or via C) and both Mum and baby were said to be “doing well.” Three-a-day baths will do that to a woman post-labour, though.
Echoing the views expressed by their lawyers at Shillings via the e-blast we received last month, the couple has reiterated their desire for the media to respect “the privacy of their family at this time.” Mark our words: when the inevitable OK! family photo shoot at home is all said and done, their legal doc’s thinly-veiled posturing (complete with typos) will seem a bit rich to say the least.
Nonetheless, congrats to the Gerrards!
I suppose we will have to wait for the magazine deals before we can see the pictures. Tacky…
Lourdes? One of the fugliest names I've ever heard. Glad that both mum and baby are ok though…
i thought she was having a boy? a boy who was going to be version 2.0 of his daddy in 20 years and come to liverpool's aid whenever we need? either way, can't wait to see her in the baby parade at the end of the season. maybe the girls will grow up to win trophies for liverpool's ladies' team?
Hmmmm, guess I like Liverpudlina better than Lourdes, Liverpudlina would definitely be less chavy…

Lourdes? Since they love the ''L'' names they could've named her Lavender… Anyway, she's a member of the Gerrard dynasty now, so as a true Liverpool fan I have to say that Im already in love with that cute little fairy!!

I'm happy for them, but it's a pity, I hoped that would have been a baby boy…A little Stevie G., and sorry but I don't like the name Lourdes, they could have done a better choice. However Congrats to Alex and Stevie!

Mmmm…Lourdes reminds you too much of Madonna’s daughter, who is called Lourdes. Funny that. I’d have gone with Elsie myself – an underrated, underused name but reminds too much of cleaners. Hey ho, such is life!
I had hoped they would have a boy. Stevie needs a little boy to balance out all of his lovely girls! And I can't say I'm not a huge fan of Lourdes. There are so many other "L" names that are really beautiful. Lourdes reminds me too much of Madonna's daughter…
Totally agree with you. Not a big fan of Lourdes at all. And I was hoping for a boy as well.
That being said – a huge congrats! Hope Steve will be back on the pitch soon – he's spent far too much time injured lately. The Premier League and National Team need him!
