Uncapped cuties Tom Cleverley and Frazier Campbell have been named in Stuart Pearce’s squad to face the Netherlands at Wembley next Wednesday.
Also benefitting from Pearce’s temporary appointment to ‘The Toughest Job In Football™’ is forgotten-under-Fabio defender Micah Richards, while hotly tipped Adorkable Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain didn’t make the cut, with Pearce stating “if we elevated him into the senior squad and he played for 10 minutes then I can’t see what the footballing education would be.”
Other surprise omissions included Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand, although the word is that “the door is not closed” to the veterans. Same as our office boudoir door then. Any time you feel like stopping by, lads.
