Oh, poor Byron. He put his best combat underpants on and his team still lost 4-0 to Wolves in the Carling Cup. Oh well. Thanks for stopping by anyway, hon. Image: Pete Norton/Getty Images Europe/Zimbio.

Had enough of ‘keepers trying to distract penalty takers? Caleb Folan has, and he’s taking measures. Image: Ezra Shaw/Getty Images/Daylife.

We never complain about supplying a necessary ego stroke once in a blue moon around Kickette HQ – but today its your turn, passionate-MLS-readers-who-send-e-mails-daily-lobbying-for-the-American-soccer-league-to-get-some-regular-play-around-here!

So…yeah, we’ve devised this feature for today, which is always the first step in getting us commitment-phobes to accept some sense of accountability for our actions. For now, we pinky-promise to think about preparing this kind of coverage every Saturday, and we’ll even use our Statue of Liberty Lady-shaped champagne flutes at breakfast to remind us about keeping our word.

Until then, comments/criticisms and any other type of acceptable feedback should be submitted for us to mull over a bar of Green & Black’s dark chocolate.

Come here looking for Crispy? David Villa? Fernando Llorente?

You know we would never disappoint you unless we absolutely had to (or unless we get so drunk we actually forget to post anything, which could happen), but as we hinted in Good Week/Bad Week, the La Liga season did not kick-off this weekend due to player strike action.

That didn’t phase Chelsea’s hot new manager, and it shouldn’t for any of us either.

Inter players are overwhelmed with emotion as they collect their latest piece of silverware. Ahem. Image: Giuseppe Bellini/Getty Images Europe/Zimbio.

We’re pretty sure we are the only website currently offering cup winners, English language lessons, transfer news and hair advice in the same post. There’s probably a reason for this, but the difference between us and other sites is that we don’t give a crap.

Have a good weekend, Kickettes!

Spurs’ Michael Dawson takes his shirt off to celebrate his side’s 5-0 win over the SPL’s Heart of Midlothian. Maybe this Europa League stuff isn’t as bad as we thought… Image: Dean Mouhtaropoulos/Getty Images Europe/Zimbio.

As you know, we can’t be bothered to write stuff about the Europa League until someone actually wins it. Or does something random in a manner that attracts our magpie-like attention.

However, the powers-that-be at Kickette (read: the higher-ups who hope for a Michael Dawson tunnel exposure repeat) have spoken, and so here we are.

Whether this Friday morning photo post (which is the quickest and most convenient way of bulldozing through our to-do’s without doing any actual work) will be a regular thing or not depends whether or not:

A) All caffeine is hidden during the first hour of the work week’s last day

B) Our local bar’s ‘Buy One, Get Two Free’ offer becomes permanent.

In the words of every Tweeting footballer out there, ‘leggo’.
