Did you hear what happened at the Emirates??! Image: Getty Image/Daylife.
They think it’s all over.
Well, it bloody isn’t and you lot would do well to sit back down and brace yourselves for next weekend. Kickettes, this could be messy…
For us, results posts act as a form of closure. An opportunity to review the games in the cold light of day and chew the fat on the issues raised. Unfortunately, with second legs due to be played next week, Barcelona considering action over Jose Mourinho’s post-match comments and a rabid following of both clubs on our humble website, we have a feeling this one might attract a bit of ‘attention’ in the coming days.
Our comments moderator is trembling. Be considerate.
Chocolate eggs. Time off work. Copious amounts of alcohol.
This, Kickettes, is a perfect storm for us. Which is why you find yourself reading the Weekend Results post on a Tuesday morning, and not in it’s more ‘traditional’ slot of say, after the weekend.
We are not well.
Thank you, Sergio ‘butterfingers’ Ramos. We have spent the last couple of days issuing threats of casual violence to our interns in order to have some Midweek Results for our beloved readers, and you have just ensured they won’t bother reading any of it.
Oh well. Life in the Kickette office is brutal at the best of times. Admittedly, not quite as brutal as being dropped from a great height and then run over by a bus, but pretty harsh nonetheless.
Hmm. There’s a thought.
We’re glad to see that some people in high places have been reading our work. We can be certain of this as our recent complaints about the proliferation of complex fixture schedules in England over the last few weeks has resulted in the maddest list of games yet.
We won’t go away, y’know. We might tear our hair out and hurl espresso at unsuspecting passers-by to vent our frustration but we’ll write them up. Bring it on!
