We love writing for you guys. It doesn’t matter whether we’re waffling on about racism in football, Fabio Capello’s surprisingly attractive ab situ or certain people’s unmentionable hair, you always have something to contribute.
Cheers to the weekend (and to you gals and guys)!
Your favourite things this week included Frankie Sandford (style reasons), Olivier Giroud (nefarious reasons) and the ill-thought out and totally unlikely possibility of a Kickette Book Club (spiteful reasons).
Your goodwill did not extend as far as Irina Shayk, though. Or her diamond.
Quelle surprise…
Former Montreal Impact MVP David Testo announced yesterday that he is gay.
The midfielder, who also played for Columbus Crew and the Vancouver Whitecaps, was cut from the Impact’s roster a month ago, and said in his statement that he regrets not coming out publicly earlier. He has apparently struggled with the issue for his entire career.
Rafa Marquez and his gorgeous wife Jaydy Michel (she’s even more stunning in person, trust us) attended a charity gala which benefitted Casita
Maria, a center of arts and education for underprivileged youth. The event, seen by some as the unofficial ‘kick off’ to the New York Social season, was hosted by the zippy stylist, Robert Verdi, at famed NYC hotel, the Mandarin Oriental.
Rafa looked like a cup full of handsome yum in his tux, to which he added a bit of flair by donning a patterned bow tie. Jaydy opted for a ‘golden glow’ look with her strapless tea length dress which was complimented by teardrop diamond earrings.
You dig their looks, Kickettes?
