Everything was going so well at the Spain NT’s Euro 2012 kit launch this morning.
Then the news broke that some players had received an unusual honour. It took the form of a personalised ceramic figurine called a ‘caganer’; part of a Catalan tradition that symbolises fertility, hope and prosperity for the coming year.
Yup, it’s gone on forever. But last night, the final round of games in the group qualification stages of Euro 2012 were played. Hopes were crushed. Hearts soared. And Andriy Arshavin took his shirt off.
All were great to watch. Except maybe the last thing.
It’s no secret that the Spanish NT are an extremely talented buncha boys. Winners of the European Football Championship, the World Cup and numerous other honours we can’t really be bothered to write about.
Combine this with our knowledge that publishing pictures of Spanish boys is a surefire way to distract you lot from our early lunch affected schedule and Bingo! We have ourselves a post.

Friday night international fixtures: sorry, but seriously? There are certain things in life that are sacred, and our freedom to plan our entire lives around the period of self-inflicted oblivion that occurs between the hours of 4pm Friday to about 3am on a Saturday morning is one of them.
Have some respect, FIFA or UEFA or whoeverthehell is in charge. The wrath of woman (post-intoxication) is not something you are equipped to mess with.
