Happy Monday, Kickettes!
We hope your weekend was full of footy, frolicks and free liquor, and that you got the results you were after for your boys.
As we’re sure you’ve heard, Leo Messi notched his 72nd goal of this season – a new record for most goals scored in one season. After converting on a penalty kick during Saturday’s Barcelona vs Espanyol match – in what was outgoing manager Pep Guardiola’s final home game at Camp Nou – Messi made his way over to his mentor for a tender embrace. It immediately evolved into a group, first team hug. As it should have.
A day later, Clint Dempsey netted his 50th goal of his Premier League career, which was appropriately celebrated in two parts: first by Mousa Dembele manstrangling Mahamadou Diarra midfield, followed by Clint showering his kids with kisses whilst carting them around Craven Cottage.
