After converting on a penalty kick during Saturday’s Barcelona vs Espanyol match – in what was outgoing manager Pep Guardiola’s final home game at Camp Nou – Messi made his way over to his mentor for a tender embrace. It immediately evolved into a group, first team hug. As it should have.
A day later, Clint Dempsey netted his 50th goal of his Premier League career, which was appropriately celebrated in two parts: first by Mousa Dembele manstrangling Mahamadou Diarra midfield, followed by Clint showering his kids with kisses whilst carting them around Craven Cottage.
