Celtic FC, Snoop & Neil Lennon: Party People
Snoop Lion is weighing up the possibility of buying “enough of a percentage” to get himself on the Celtic board so he can be “heard,” he told the Daily Record last week.
Some will dismiss this as manufactured publicity, but ’tis a real possibility, Kickettes.
“I didn’t catch the whole [Celtic vs] Barcelona game but I watched the highlights. I know Barcelona are a big deal, and it shows Celtic are a big deal as well,” he said. “I see how passionate Celtic fans are about their team and I could see myself making an investment if any of the board wanted to sell.”
The rap star formerly known as Snoop Dogg will be in good company should he flash his cash for a stake in the Glasgow club. Already a favourite amongst celebrities from around the world, including Rod Stewart, Gerard Butler and Cheryl Cole’s bandmate, Nadine Coyle, Snoop has even been in talks with his rumoured biznass partner David Beckham about the idea.
“I asked my man David about Celtic and he was like, ‘Yeah, teams don’t come much bigger,’” the rapper said of the soccer legend who currently plays for the Galaxy. “I would try and sign him up for a season but he is pretty happy over here. L.A. is home for him and his family now — but I would have to at least make that offer to my boy.”
Although the semantics have yet to be sorted, the award-winning musician/marijuana connoisseur’s already turning his attention elsewhere. His real passion, he insists, lies in the luxury suites at Celtic Park.
“I want to bring a bit of Snoop to things,” he told the Daily Record. “I am passionate about my sport. The boxes at Celtic would never be the same once I have hosted a party there.”
Whoomp there it is, Neil Lennon.

Thank you, and good luck with those plans for world domination (if they involve footballer bo
Nice post. I used to be checking continuously this blog and I am impressed! Extremely helpful information specifically the remaining section
I maintain such info a lot. I used to be seeking this certain information for a very lengthy time. Thanks and best of luck.
oh just let him do that. if he has the money, which he certainly does and well.. earned, he is free to do so. basically every known team has people on their boards who have no idea about the sport itself. sure it's a shame but it's how the sport nowadays works and the teams sure need it. and you have to give him credit for wanting to get in on the celtics and not barca, real, bayern or man city…teams much more present in the media.
Jeez, this is like the most negative set of comments I've ever seen. Anyway, I won't say that Snoop's an expert, but I've seen a couple interviews with him saying early on in his career, when he was just getting big, he did a few shows in London. In the hotels, there seemed to only ever be footy on, so he started watching and he got into it. He's definitely a fan. And if anyone's seen his kids' (Am) football team, they are pimped OUT. He coaches them part time, too. Lol, obviously he won't be coaching Celtic, but he's definitely dedicated. Something has to be said about the fact that he's thinking about becoming a part owner at Celtic even though I'm sure he probably has enough money to be like Jay-Z and become a part owner of an NBA or NFL team.
I am aware of all of this… it doesn't make Celtic a big club or his understand any of the religious history of the club. He has been banned in Norway and arrested around the world for pot possession. His oldest son dropped out of college and hangs with dad smoking pot all day.
When did he change his name to Snoop Lion?
when he decided to give up Rap for Reggae
Ahem, not that I'm being demanding lovely Kickettes, but I was hoping for some sort of tribute to Steven Gerrard AKA Captain Fantastic!
600 games for Liverpool and 100 caps for England (no doubt overshadowed by the lovely Ibra's goal), that's surely something we should celebrate!
Doesn't matter if he is on the Board–he won't be able to understand what they are saying through those Scottish brogues!
"Yeah, teams don’t come much bigger" – Honey David lied to you…
Also, you are not Catholic, you should tread lightly, Calvin. You really should
You obviously know next to nothing about Celtic FC
Do enlighten me then….what did I saw that was false?
Sorry guys, but Snoop is the last person to talk about football. May he and his rap friends stay away from the beautiful sport we all love.
