Champions League Results: Good For You?
Champions League games are like the hot boyfriend that arrives on a motorcycle, but only brings one helmet. Sexy, but heartbreaking. Wait, let’s clarify as that situation isn’t entirely heartbreaking. True heartache would be if he showed up wearing leather trousers.
Let’s stay on topic.
The last two days of matches have seen some surprising exits, fantastic goals and, as always, reminded us how exciting the CL can be. In case you’ve been accidentally locked in the Vogue beauty closet (lucky cow) and missed the action, here’s a sum up:
Real Madrid v. Olympique Lyonnais

Miralem Pjanic’s name will most likely haunt the city of Madrid for the rest of the season. The Lyon man’s late goal was the primary reason Real Madrid were dumped out of the Champions League for the sixth consecutive season. Some say a secondary reason could be Kaka’s performance…something his PR and wife vehemently denied via Twitter last night. Eye-roll at the gum-flapping WAG.
Visibly shaken by the team’s loss, the club cancelled a sports drink photo-op featuring Ronaldo which was scheduled for today. When Real Madrid doesn’t have the energy or desire to whore out their superstars, you know it’s bad. Not even San Iker can save them now.
Other Bernabeu Stadium Highlights include: a Higuian stomach sulk; patent-pending Crissy Fit.
–
Arsenal v. FC Porto
Porto’s tactical booty-bump training (opening photo) proved futile as Arsenal lit up the scoreboard to win 5- 0 against the Portuguese team. Samir Nasri was our MOTM for his ridic goal and subsequent tongue celebration.

Other Emirates Stadium highlights include: Emmanuel Eboue checking out Alvaro Pereira’s thighs; Nicklas Bendtner teaching the opposition the proper way to nap mid-game.
–
Bayern Munich v. Fiorentina

Although Fiorentina won on their home turf with a score of 4 – 3, the German beer guzzling boys of Bayern went through on aggregate goals. Arjen Robben led the post-match team line dance to celebrate their CL quarterfinal advancement.

Other Artemio Franchi Stadium highlights include: Miroslav Klose Kung-Fu fighting Fiorentina’s Sebastian Frey; Gloves…lots of ‘em; a Vargas up-short shot
–
Manchester United v. AC Milan
When celebrities like Gerard Butler attend your footy match by helicopter, you know that game-anticipation is at an all-time high.
Rather than recap the obvious and total ass-whooping that was this game, we’d like to update you on the status of Beckiello.

David left Marco for Gary Neville. In turn, he told David to “talk to the hand” and quickly jumped ship to Wayne Rooney’s winning side. Borriello sobbed; Beckham teared up. It was over before it ever really began.

How did your team fare? Do tell.

My soul is hurting, because real madrid was eliminated. But they could have won the game in lyon, and they would have gone through. So perhaps it's their own fault.
However hurtful the elimination of real was, Ronaldo's new hairdue was more painful to watch.
Something wierd is going on in Madrid!
First Gago show up with that horrible mullet, then Marcelo gets braided hair, also awful. And now C-ron looks like Ken's long lost latino twin….
What's next, The Ramos cutting his hair off? Ö I don't think I would be able to handle that!
i love real madrid, but i wasnt surprised they were eliminated. the team is playing really well but to expect them to win a CL right away just because they spent a ton of money, it wasnt gonna happen over night. they struggled to beat lyon so even if they did, they would’ve struggled in the next round… there’s always next yr =)… it sucks how the press comes down on them really hard, and all the blaming…. they’re still doing really well and they’re all still super hot! =)… during the game, i was so irritated by cesar delgado’s unibrow, i swear i had my tweezer in hand ready to help him out… it was bothering me lol
My main game is next week, but this week wasn’t so good. Real Madrid tried, but they couldn’t do it. This leaves everyone wondering what more they can do next year.
Fiorentina’s loss was a shame.
Ah, awesome night. and Becks, you cried. don try to hide it!!
And Real… what the hell? i thought this year they will actually qualify to the quarter finals.. poor Cris.
Quote from Iker Casillas after CL defeat
“When you’ve won more league titles than Champions Leagues you miss what you don’t have. It’s like having a girlfriend; you want to be free when you have one, but once you are, you want to have a girlfriend again.”

pasta sauce is being banished. yeah!!
oh wait, i'm reading into it to much. he was really humble today. made me feel slightly better than yesterday
Awwww I love him. I love you Iker!!!!!!
Well, my boys play in Barcelona next week, on St. Patrick's Day to be exact!! They are tied 1-1 on agg, but Barca has the advantage of an away goal.
sad, as both my teams lost (fc porto and real madrid). but i do want to thank you for posting a picture of FCP–i don’t think i’ve ever seen kickette post a pic of the dragons before, so kudos to you for that one.
Both teams should be ashamed for different reasons, as i’m sure they already are, and rightfully so.
there have been some dragons’ photos before, in much happier moments though ;P
Is Gerard Butler a Man Utd fan or was he just showing up because he’s a friend of Beckham? Mind you…he was (is?) a friend of CRon’s too isn’t he?
It’s difficult getting reliable football info on this side of the Atlantic…that’s why I’m so happy to have landed on the Kickette pitch!
after watching that recption for David B, i must say us united fans are the clasiest football fans out there, and Real Madrid crashing out no worries madridista for God sick you won it 9 times if am not mistaken. bravo to all the winners on tuesday and wednsday and so long to all the money splashing loser out there!
A BET RONALDO REGRETS LEAVING UNITED NOWW
X
Don’t think so. Hot Spanish sun, hot Spanish girls vs rainy England, cold English girls
yes, i can hardly imagine CRon is sad about leaving Man Utd for all those reasons you just stated.
Whats so wrong with English girls!!! People are always hating on us lol!! We are pretty, fun, and happy too!!
Glad you're on here Molly, sticking up for us
Your welcome, Mrs.Nesta.
I saw Real madrid thing coming… they were tooo confident about kicking Lyon's ass and acting like they path in Champions league was going to bee very easy and later see what happened
I’m so happy for us!!
What a fantastic game. Nasri’s goal was pure class. But I don’t overestimate this result… frankly, Porto was very poor.
And I don’t feel sorry for Real. Money can’t buy you success… you must be a real team first.
FANTASTIC result for Man Utd. When they have a full-strength team playing as a team…they are unstoppable.
I think Sir Alex has made things very difficult for other team managers who say they need big money to get the big results. He's just shown everyone that the stuff you can't buy…like passion, preparation and purpose…are the difference makers on the pitch.
150% agree
!!!
I’m very happy for Manchester United!!! Also, I liked Arsenal’s match, it was very exciting.
I’m very sorry for Madrid, I really thought they were going to make it this time!
Arsenal game was fantastic……Nicklas with his 3 and Nasri with goal of the competition (I think) so far and Arsene Wenger jumping for joy made my day
Real Madrid cancelled the sports drink photo-op featuring Ronaldo because Ron's cousin passed away today and he left to be with his family in Madeira :/
Aww thats so sad. How did he die??? RIP Ronnies cousin.
CRon's cousin died in a car accident
my condolences to CRon and his family…
So proud of my boys…Nicky B scoring a hatrick and am starting to really crush on him! Nasri's goal has to be by far the goal of the season (unless some1 else produces a better goal by the end of the CL competition) We played some beautiful football, and wenger's lil happy jump was too funny
Wooow did not realise how hawt marco was but damn that guy is hawt!
Great reception by man utd fans though for becks what a sweet moment for him and them!
I'm so proud of my Red Devils <3 did everything right! and oh beck, thanks for everything! he was obviosly moved by the reception, and it gave me chills to see Old Trafford like that.
real madrid out of the champions league just makes it even better! AND i saw Fletcher without a shirt.. it was glorious! what a night!!!
UNITED WERE REALLY GOOD LAST NITEE ALL OVER MILAN.
BECKHAM LOOKED LIKE HE WAS GONNA CRY.
BLESS! X
Yep!!! thats the pic i was talking about. Full credit to kickette Admin for getting it. U rock. Poor Iker!!!
Trisha hun, your having a laugh! Madridista – more like W!'krista with Sh1T Iker and CR-aP. 250 million euro for that! Bloody hell, what a joke! GO LYON!!! Allez les blues! (Until they get to play Barcelona of course!)
Thea, sweetheart! Give me a break. Im in love with this man. I cant hate him forever no matter what he does wrong.
But can you see the desperation that i was talking about in this pic. He has been so different in the last couple of matches. And I read the stuff Mrsnesta is quoting him on about comparing the CL titles to girlfriends!!! How ironical is that to our conversation yesterday about their loss.
I feel so in tune with this man, its unreal, like i could really be his better half!!! LOL.
I think i am meant to be his better half and in about 2 or 3 months he will break up with Sara to be with me. LOL.
What he said in the press conference is very interesting considering he's way to media savvy to let soemthing just slip out of that nature. Spainish Media are still hyping the thing to death though, it's all very odd!
i utterly devestated still. margaritas did not help. it was awful. wth happened in the 2nd half?! panic sets in and they play like individuals. they had been playing really well as a team to the lead off.
i now put my support to sevilla for the CL. as long as no blaugrana or EPL team come smear our house. (LOL girls, don't get defensive. I'm trying not to scream. Not all Madridistas were in full approval of throwing money around like water, but the heartbreak is the same). If they fire Pelligrini, I may have to scream.
LOL Madrid are a joke spending so much money and they still fal I wonder how Ronaldo feels now that United passed the next round and Madrid didn´t
Beckas come back was very emotional he is a sweetheart <3 and I wanted a close up of Gerard Butler during the match
It's MiraleM Pjanic, and he's a regular cutie, yet very young and with lots of perspective…:)

Noted. Thanks!
I'm elated that United are through and it was lovely to see David so well-received. The Gaz-Roo hug was an adorable moment. It was also good to see Vida and Rio in the back four again.
On a side note, Nasri's dribbling run was one of the best goals I've seen this season.
So many memories and emotions on the night, but really, Wayne and Gary's embrace sums up what United is all about: heart, pride and passion, past, present and future. Players come and go, but those qualities aren't for sale and can't be bought.
I feel sorry for Real Madrid… moving on, I'm so glad Man U won but I was staring at Marco with great visual pleasure. I think other readers on here will agree: Marco is gorgeous and sexy. Don't really care about the Bayern Munich match, unless Luca Toni was still playing there and Arsenal… Nicky, you are one hot stud!
