Charity Chatter: La Liga ‘Ballers Invade Children’s Hospitals

Images via Athletic Bilbao, Valencia CF and FC Barcelona.

Even in our semi-permanent drunken states, we still get the warm fuzzies when we see ‘ballers making rounds at their local children’s hospitals to pass out gifts and meet the little ones. In Spain, teams will typically do this anytime between Christmas Eve and Three Kings Day (6th of January).

Gird your loins and enjoy the attack on your ovaries, Kickettes.

Valencia CF

Not only does this cutie get a gift AND a visit from Rami, but we’re really digging his yellow slippers.

Well done boys, you can never go wrong with pink packaging.

Athletic Club Bilbao

Cute ballers’ aside, this little bubba is beyond adorable!

Bilbao’s keeper, Gorka Iraizoz, was joined by members of the Athletic Bilbao women’s squad for his hospital rounds.

FC Barcelona

This mini-Kickette clearly knows how to pose pretty and keep good company.

Not only did this lucky duck get to pop a squat on Pep’s lap, he also cracked jokes with Dani Alves. Unfair.

Great to see my fave team (and two I also respect) doing something nice for others. I particularly love seeing Soldado, who displays such rage on the pitch, with a big smile on his face. And lastly, aren't those Athletic Bilbao ladies so naturally gorgeous? That's one all-around good-looking athletic club.

This Christmas, I'm telling someone to run me over with a car so I can go to the hospital and stalk…uh, I mean ADMIRE, visiting footie cuties :)

Alot of epl teams did this as well… but the only ones we get in american hospitals are professional basketball players! It's a shame, because I'm in the hospital, like, every week for my internship, and not one famous person has come to visit. I'm still holding out for carlos bocanegro one of these days, though. ;)
