Chelsea got the footy started this weekend with a win over Manchester United in the Community Shield. The game tied at 2-2 and went to penalties, which Chelsea won 4-1.
We’re giddy with glee at the thought that we’ll soon be seeing regular footy again. It’s like sale-season, only better.
Speaking of which, we have a few things to share dear readers. To celebrate the start of the season, we’ll be starting up the Thursday Thigh Off again this week, revealing a new Finest Five and debuting our Elite XI squad. We are also barricading our flats with pointy things to defend against the inevitable pandemonium that will ensue. Watch for the reveals at the end of the week.
Finally, we’ll be switching the site over to a new management system as well – if you see anything on the site that looks odd or isn’t working like it should, please let us know.
Congrats to Chelsea and hurrah to the start of the season!

We're still too emo to LOL but... this sure came close to breaking the Beckspression we're under.

Blue is the colour! Thank you Kickette for the lovely JT pic. It was, indeed, a beautiful day to be a Blues fan. Thanks to all of the lovely Kickettes who stopped by the chat and Twitter (oh and below!) to offer their congratulations and support. The first half was a bit terrifying for me, but the second half showed Carlo can make the proper adjustments to lead the Blues to victory. This gives me hope for the season. After all of the disappointments and frustrations of last season, it was nice to see the Blues winning. To the ManUnited supporters, a good game and stunning form by Rooney (even if as Nicki points out, some of us believe he was offside). I can appreciate your frustration with the officiating as no bad call should change the result in a game. Take nothing away from the Blues though as this victory was certainly earned. Blue is the colour!
