Forbidden Footie Lust: Make Your Confessions Here

What’s that? We have to choose?! Cescy & Niko make life difficult. Images: Getty Images via Daylife

Traditional, ‘manly’ football support is fraught with problems, y’know.

Firstly, you have to have been born in the city of the team you support. And you must support that team in a life/death manner, even if they’re rubbish. You also have to go to every home game, hate the opposition with commitment and vigour and have an encyclopaedic knowledge of every player’s stats since their career began at Asshat Rovers Under Elevens.

We fully embrace the global game concept here at Kickette, and therefore do not adhere to these somewhat exclusionary restrictions. We believe everyone should support whoeverthehell they want to support, for whateverthehell reason they want to, including buff abs.

But.

Don’t be under any illusion, pursuit of our friendly, inclusive agenda has its own share of problems.

What if, as a hardcore club supporter you suddenly find yourself developing the fuzzies for a player belonging to… wait for it… your greatest rivals? It’s not unheard of, even in the Kickette offices, where we justify ourselves by claiming hormonal imbalance and operating a highly effective distraction technique involving Crunchie bars and shiny things.

What to do? Keep it inside in a ‘the love that dare not speak its name’ type way, or shout it from the roof tops, thus incurring the wrath of your fellow supporters, family members and aforementioned ‘traditional’ fans?

Confession time: Whether you’re a Torres loving Toffee, a confused Arsenal fan with a hankering for Niko Kranjcar or heaven forbid, a Roque ravenous Red, give us your forbidden footie dirties, please.

Cleanse your soul in time for a weekend’s concentrated leching. Yum!

  1. NandoCesc lover says:

Ah!!! why do the spainards have to have the hottest players ever and to be taken!!! NANDO, Cesc, Pique, Xabi, Iker, Daaveeed……….you guys are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But Fernando T. is my one and only true love :D (and a little of each of the others, Cesc a little more than the others) But I am a Barca girl, not just because of Pique ( <3 ) but because of their style of play :D

  2. Em says:

I've been a gunners fan lifelong – runs in the family! A talented bunch! And with FABregas, Walcott and the like its not exactly hard watching them either. Their success of recent years is a little disappointing but I will always love arsenal non the less!!

However, I find myself torn these days! :s With a new found love for steven gerrard (the talent speaks for itself as does his looks – some of THE finest thighs and torso out there. And that come and have some face..not exactly shout out sexy but understated sexy!!) And torres on the same field (I do miss the blonde locks but nando I'll embrace you whatever you do!!) Liverpool are beginning to have a huge place in my footie heart.. Infact I feel like they're beginning to take our my #1 spot ahead of the gunners.. There I said it!! Owww!

If my family came to know of this I would be outed of watching the games with them!! So, I'll continue to pledge my support for arsenal for I'm a gunner at heart while I just overcome this glitch and admire the talent that is on showcase with LFC!

…Hey its all good right??! Afterall the kickette motto is 'for those who love the players as much as they love the game!'

  3. littlegirl says:

hi…well, i’m italian, i’m a Juventus fan (and so I HAD to hate Inter).we got a lot of cute players such as the Roma’s capitain Francesco Totti(he was my favourite wen i was about 13-14).
    But…but…when I saw Fernando Torres…I think he’s near to perfection…
I also like Michael Ballack…but Nando is the best.

  4. Emme says:

Oh my god! This is totally unrelated, but considering so many people are reading this post & the Kickette staff does not post on the weekends, I have to throw this out there……….I just read on a transfer ticker that Chelsea is offering Real Madrid 40 million for The Ramos!!!!! I am not sure how credible this info is, but this is crazy news!

    • sara says:

Relax, this rumor is crazy talk, Chelsea don´t need him and they would never pay 40mil on a player and they already have better players than Ramos.

i´m Chelsea fan, but Torres, Fabregas and Chicharito, confuses me a lot about who to cheer when my team plays against theirs

      • Leya says:

I seriously just almost lost it there!

The thought of my Sergio moving to Chelsea?!?!? Nothing against Chelsea, and its true that I'm not a huge RM fan anyway, but Sergio at Chelsea just doesn't fit, in my opinion. They just don't seem like his style!

Hopefully it really IS just a rumor because I just really cannot picture him there.

  5. lindsay says:

I'm a Barca girl, but I can't resist the Real Madrid players (Xabi, Casillas, Ramos, Ronaldo…)! Hate myself.

Still – Pique, Bojan, David Villa, etc. keep me loyal :)

    • lindsay says:

OH – and I’ve been in love with Fernando Torres forever. Not too naughty of me, though, because he’s in the Premier League and not La Liga, so I’m not ashamed to confess. May be my favorite player, come to think of it.

  6. AmyFabregas says:

Cesc Fabregas is mty true football love <3 im 100 % Arsenal fan, but ive got a bit of a thing for fernando torres :L <3

    • Mrs Fabregas, V.Persie........oh, what the heck, Mrs the whole Arsenal team says:

nooooooo. stop right there. Cesc is the one and only soocer god and there will always be one…….CESC!!!!!
      PS: 100% Gunner fan 2!!!!! ;)

  7. Lilia says:

Is it just me, or does Puyol kind of look like Dee Snider from Twisted Sister and Howard Stern put together? With a FOINE body? Just kinda reminded me of them because of all this Puyol talk on here…

As far as rivalry loves, it doesn't matter for clubs because I live in Chicago where everyone is more concerned about hockey, American football, and baseball. Which is nice because I can indiscrimnately scope out players from any team I desire and support them all <3

However with national teams, I suppose Spain all the way. They're just the most gorgeous team ever, AND talented :) But being an American, I do have a soft spot for Team America. I'll always want Spain to win over USA, but there's that little slice of patriotism in my soul that is always rooting for America. I also really like to hear out national anthem on the pitch.

    • gigi6982 says:

I am from Connecticit, so I feel the same way (except hockey isn't as big), but I am with you completely, I cheer on Spain, and will hope for Spain to win everything, but there is a little cheer for America (so long as Spain is not involved)! Haha!

    • ninjess says:

Oh, being a Yank! It comes with both joys (I can cheer for whichever team is hotter without any guilt) and sorrows (or, I would do that…if any matches were televised. EVER.). I'm in the same boat as you ladies – team loyalty for me is reserved for baseball and college (American) football. When it comes to real footie, my "team" allegiance looks roughly like:

      1. Stevie G.

      2. Pretty much any player from Spain.

      3. CRon

It makes things pretty uncomplicated and without guilt…unless those Spaniards start playing one another. Then I'm screwed.

  8. zahara says:

im barca forever and ever and ever :) but the spanish chicos, all of them, make my heart beat faster, no joke. even the spanish boys who play for real madrid

Aside from the spanish footballers and my barca boys, kaka, stevie g, joe cole, higuain, quite a few italian players; canna, zambrotta etc.

also, i just want to list my club(s) and national team(s) because ive been dying to do that and this post appears to be kinda appropriate :)

    clubs;

    1.BARCA BARCA BARCA

    2.liverpool

3.real madrid (i like watching them play *grins sheepishly* )

    4.arsenal

    5.inter milan

    national teams:

1.SPAIN SPAIN SPAIN (finally world champions!woohoo)

    2. brazil

    3. italy

    4.uruguay

    5.argentina

    6.england

i am so sorry for this long rant but i needed to get this off my chest before i exploded

KICKETTE, THANKS MUCHO FOR THIS POST !

  9. Jack Wilshere(Arsenal) of Course :)

    And because i’m a Barcelona fan..Carles Puyol,Xavi Ibra & Messi :)

    We won the Supercopa :D

    x

  10. Barcelista says:

I’m Culé and Gooner all the way so I have a lot of hot boys to choose from.. And it makes it so much easier to resist temptation.. Pique, Xavi, Valdes, Bojan, Alves, Villa, Pedrito, Sex, RvP, Walcott.. You name it!

BUT since this is a place for confessions I have to admit that I have a thing for Lashes (mmm…) and for new kid Chicarito (he’s just so cuuuute).. And the Ramos.. There I’ve said it.. OMG can’t believe that I actually admitted that!! :o My family would suffer heart attacks if they knew (yes all of them!)

But I NEVER cheer for the forbidden boys in club competitions! Never have and never will!!!

And YAY we won the super copa!!!! :D

  11. liesjuhh says:

Iker was my first crush. Then followed by The Ramos, Jesus Navas, Patrice Evra, Nemanja Vidic, Nando and Cesc <3

  12. Emme says:

Okay, this is a bit off-topic, but I have to say this anyway! Reading a lot of these comments, I am kind of surprised about the love of Carles Puyol. I watched the WC final with my best gay friend and his boyfriend. At one point my friend's boyfriend leans over and says to him and says (referring to Carles), 'That guy is soooo ugly.' I thought that was the general consensus. Apparently, I was wrong, I never thought I would see the day he was featured on the hallowed pages of Kickette, but maybe we should all issue a challenge to Kickette to finally feature him. :)

    • Lisa says:

he has been featured before. Kickette made us choose between him and Gerard Pique (I know, fair contest right?) I believe Kickette's description of Puyol was "an acquired taste".

I remember it because I laughed my a** off at the time. Now whenever I see Puyol on TV I say "oh look, its an Acquired Taste", "What a great tackle by an Acquired Taste" and so on.

    • Mrs Puyol says:

Well obviously i have a thing for him, and i´m happy to see that so many others like him too. I guess you can be beautiful in many ways. I often think that conventionally good looking people are kinda boring.

      • Rossanera says:

I must must admit, Puyol is not my particular glass of sangria. The thing about football players is that they are largely “pretty boys.” Looking at you, C-Ron. I mean, Becks invented the metrosexual … and if you look at Iker and Nando you’ll notice they have very sculpted, feminine features.

Puyol is all man. Very rugged. Look at that video he did with Nike. The dude is RIPPED.

      • Emme says:

My good friend always says that. Conventionally good looking can be boring. I have to admit that I do understand the appeal of Carles. He’s a risk-taker. The fact that he rocks the hair-do my mom wore in the early 90′s & doesn’t give a s*** what anyone else thinks is impressive.
I am fairly new here, so I never saw Pique vs. Puyol, but I cannot believe they did a mandatory choice pairing of them! They seem to always set footballers up for failure – wouldn’t a more fair pairing be Franck Ribery vs. Carles Puyol? The famed Xabi vs. Bori volume 2.0 was also not fair especially right after the WC!

    • Kc95 says:

Well, you see, there's something about him. I think hes hot, because he's so openly him. He appears to be 100% man. Even in America, if you looked at him, you would go "that is an athelete." Not so with Fernando Torres (nothing against him, or those freckles.)

    • zahara says:

puyol is waay hot…hot like mexico rejoice (sorry, coudnt resist ;) )

  13. alexa says:

I love love LOVE this post. However, it’s going to apply to me probably next season when Cesc Fabregas moves to the evil empire. I’m a pure Madridista 100%. It breaks my heart to know that Cesc’s heart is there. But it is what it is. I have to enjoy this last season as a gooner! woooo

  14. GuapaBS6 says:

I’m a proclaim Barca and Arsenal supporter :) possibly the best clubs with the sexiest footballers!!! I <3 Puyol, Cescy, and RvP! I must confess that whenever I see RM play, I gasp when I see Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo's sexy abs :O it's anatomy appreciation, but besides that I dislike RM!! In the epl, I've always had a soft spot for el Nin~o Torres and now after the WC, I've developed a crush for Pepe Reina :) As a Germany NT supporter, I had secretly been supporting for yrs Michael Ballck, but now I'm glad he is no longer in Chelsea, so feel less guilty :) Having any secret crush on spurs players has never cross my mind, thank god lol anyways these are my secrets Kickette. thanks for the liberation :)

  15. marie says:

    I love this post….

I m a Barca fan with a crush on The Ramos (seems to be the case with everyone) and Iker (duh! i m a kickette soldier gal,of course he s the love of my life )

  16. cheryboomboom says:

any of you girls think Hatem Ben Arfa is cute ? I do !!!<3 <3

And is he finally going to Newcastle or not ? :S

  17. Ess-Jay says:

I'm a Villan and I hate Chelsea and Arsenal and Pool. But I LOVE Cescy. Absolutely adore him. And Van Persie… I also loooooove Stevie… Mmmmm!…

I also have a wee thing for… Giggsie.. Haha that's my dark dirty secret. I love him, even if he is a bit older… But he's just so yum.. Haha

But yeah.. I've pretty much got a thing for every footballer.. Lol. My main thing's for Santa Cruz right now though.. Daaaaaaaang. He's delicious!

  18. needinganandofix says:

Kickette, you have excelled yourself with this one! Living in Glasgow most folk support green or blue (neither of which are really my colour) and I am not sure what it is about SPL, it never seems to attract the hotties the EPL draws. Anyhow, my football boy crushes go back too many years to remember – from Maldini in all his hotness (oh, the eyes), to my beloved Titi and Freddie during the Highbury years, but I have to confess this crush on Nando is ridiculous, just too beautiful for words!! When will it pass to release me from my semi-mad state?!

  19. KC says:

You guys are all so lucky! Down here in Australia, soccer/football is only available really on payTV so I haven't been able to get into club football as much as I'd like to (I majorly caught the football bug after the 2010 WC even though I've been watching football WCs since I was 7 :D )

My 'forbidden' football lust happened during the final of the 2010 WC when my two fave teams (Okay I supported like 8 teams LOL) Spain and Netherlands got into the final but my mum, who has loved the Netherlands since the 70s, was disappointed to find out I was supporting Spain and that was mainly due to talent (OF COURSE :P ) and also their hotties LOL :D HAHAHAHAHA :D I mean I thought Wesley Sneidjer was quite a hottie and Arjen Robben is so talented but how can you beat a WHOLE TEAM of hotties in Spain; Villa, Torres, Casillas, Xabi Alonso, Fabregas etc etc etc. When Spain won my mum was so upset and I had to tone down my happiness out of consideration for her T____T

  20. Leya says:

    Martin Skrtel!

I mean I love Liverpool already, but Skrtel is just so…..dangerous. He’s like “prison” hot, if ya know what i mean!

  21. Dani says:

Mmmmmm. John Terry. :) I'm 100% Chelsea loyal so that's not too shocking. I know most Chelsea girls love Lampard, and I do (he's adorable!) but JT is #1 in my books. Hot, cocky, at times a troublemaker, plus a fantastic captain and unbelievably talented.

    • JaneSpotting says:

      Yes Dani,
JT surpasses the ever popular Lamps. Such a bad boy, but such a true born leader. As for forbidden ogling, Van Persie of the Van Arsenal family amuses me. lol

  22. Riri says:

loooove cesc fabregas forever.no matter if he's in arsenal or barcelona.

  23. cookiesandcreme says:

for all of you jonny evans lovers:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zt6pCQqUlFY&fe…

    hilarious vid!

  24. Whitney says:

Anywhere Diego Perez (Uruguay NT) is!

    • christinaLFP says:

i LOVE Uruguay and all the Diego's (Perez, Lugano, FOrlan…..)

      • zztop says:

there should be a Diego team, they can play the Xavier / Javier team and the David team!

      • che says:

i used to had a crush on Lugano and he plays in my teams biggest rival which i hate them (too much)but while i was liking him i was almost cheetin' my team.seriously..after so many years with hate and rivaly..so i'm warning u gals..don't do that.don't have a crush on rivals and don't even think about cheeting your team.thank god i'm done long time ago..and now i hate them more tham ever.

plus i've became a URU NT fan just b/c of Lugano but now he is the only one that i dont like in the team.Suarez&Forlan all the way .wonderfull players

p.s. it might be ok just if it's not your childhood team, your city' team.

like me becoming a Chelsea fan just for Lamps couple years ago

  25. I’m a Leeds United Fan but now i’m having scary(and forbidden) thoughts about following ARSENAL :o all because of a man called Jack Wilshere who is just soooo good-looking i’m fainting even thinking about him PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Kickette could you feature him in a post or something please *flutters eyelashes* oh and some Carles Puyol who is just sooooo sexyit’s unbeleivable lol it would reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally make my day!xzxx

    • cymraeg_ddraig says:

I'm not a fan of Jack Wilshere to be honest…Aaron Ramsay though…I'll have me some of him any day! Maybe to do with him being fluent in Welsh, I do find that attractive ;-)

  26. gillyrosh says:

My Liverpool-loving cousin has told me that I cannot, under any circumstances, root for Manchester United. And I would have been able to comply – that is, before Javier Hernandez came along.

Guess I shouldn’t share my love for Cesc Fabregas and Robin Van Persie w/my cousin, eh?

  27. Torra says:

Can I just brag about something real quick??? I live in Cape Town, and guess who was staying two blocks away from me during the world cup? THE ENTIRE URUGUAYAN FOOTBALL TEAM.

Yeeeeeah baby. I saw them quite a lot.

    Okay, i’m done. *ducks*

    • Kc95 says:

Well, it would all depend on how much you saw eh? But congrats that sounds awsome! Did you talk to any of them, Forlan prehaps? I found him pretty attractive.

    • christinaLFP says:

omg!!!!!!! i dont think i’ve ever been this jelous in my life…….

    • Arsenal says:

OMG!!! i live in Durban and no one was staying next to me. I was on tv for the Spain vs Switzerland game. I was so excited coz im an Arsena fan, but sadly Spain lost and Cesc did not play. lol

  28. Manutdgirl says:

As any one ever seen Jonny evans… he’s a cutie…

  29. M says:

I'm a Fulham/Chelsea fan but often find myself drifting towards Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs for their players, ahem. Nando, Kranjcar, Van Persie, Wilshere and Gareth Bale are recent favourites. I also quite like Kasper Schmeichel because he looks a little like a bleach blonde Prince Harry.

  30. zztop says:

well, Barça trashed my Sevilla today but I do like that little Pedro and Tarzan Puyol.

Really, has no one else noticed Sevilla's Perotti? He's gorgeous.

    • zztop says:

Isn't Perotti a doll? Dunno why he didn't start, he's better than Capel. Could be saving him for TUesday's Champs League playoff, arguably more important. He's an elegant player tho, and apparently goes to Uni, how dear is that?

I too am sick of Barça winning everything and the smugness of their fans who became fans only when they hit this winning streak. Jeez we know you have the best academy, the most money, the greatest rivalry, the potty mouthed messiah, the political motivation etc etc…

    • Lisa says:

FYI I have been a barca fan since the dream team of the early 90s (when Pep was a player). Yes, I am THAT old.

I will admit at times the way other Culés talk about our club (myself not included) can come across as smug.

Somehow when Real Madrid fans do the same, its seen as confidence, or "Madridismo" *barfs*

For me I guess the big talk about Barca comes as a defence-mechanism, against all those people who say Real Madrid are Spain's best club.

Its not fair for you to label all of us as Smug or bandwagon jumpers. Even if some were, its best to keep negative opinions to yourself.

Holy crap, nearly up to 500 comments. Come on kickettes WE CAN DO THIS!

      • cherryboomboom says:

Oh i have nothing against their fans .. its just they win everything .. and no it's not jealousy .. I used to like barca myself ! Its juts its always the same thing and we dont expect anything more from them . there isn't that dream of winning .. and then you we just want to see new faces .. not always barca barca barca Messi messi messi !

        enough !!

        • Lisa says:

yea unfortunately I agree with everything you said. I myself have always had a soft spot for Atletico Madrid. They have a history of signing hot South American players, plus its another excuse to hate on Real Madrid. win win for me.

        • Mrs Puyol says:

Well considering they only beat RM with one point last season i´d say that everything isn´t just barca, barca, barca. It´s also a lot of Real Madrid. La liga would be a lot more fun if other teams would step up, that´s for sure. But barca deserve all of the praise they get.

  31. sara says:

I´m a huge Chelsea fan, and I hate United, but Chicharito and Evans are such cuties. I love all German mannschaft, they are just the most gorgeus team on planet. my sins are also: Vermealen, Ramsey, Fabregas(with long hair), Bale…I better stop now:)

  32. Mme Gourcuff says:

The El Classico of Barcelona and Real Madrid. I'm for Madrid but can't help but be tempted by Pique and David Villa from Barca.

Then of course, there's Liverpool and Arsenal. How can you possibily choose between 'Nando and Cesc! Tis impossible!

  33. Lydia says:

I've forever been and will be a madridista, and my hugest football crushes are Figo (after he came to Madrid!), Sergio and Xabi. However, I of late find myself strangely attracted to Pique, even though he plays for Barca… And now that the WC is over, I'm in trouble, not having a legitimate reason to watch out for a close-up of his during a match… Thanks for the soul-cleansing opportunity, Kickette! I'd been feeling very dirty because of this forbidden love.

  34. IrishBlue says:

Well I’m a through-and-through Chelsea girl but being honest, if Jonny Evans turned up and wanted some….I sure as hell wouldn’t say no! I actually don’t find the Chelsea boys that attractive anyway…..

  35. ishay says:

Since not so long ago,(semi finals of WC), it's been Carles Puyol. And I couldn't be more surprised at myself- you know the hair, the anti-pretty boy image. Then I discover, the man has an enourmous tribe of love stricken followers from age 14 to 74. There is something so sexy about the man on a primal level.

A few days ago, I discovered that there is a new girlfriend in the picture too.

But I have a husband (who,by the way is only too glad I'm taking an interest in BarcA now hehe),so we can work things out Carles.Shall I call you Charlie?

So, when your English improves, give me a call sweetheart.

In the meanwhile, I'm going to learn some Spanish…the swear words at least. You know, for when we have those intense, passionate arguments…

I always win by the way, but its a given that you will benefit too. Of course.

Right, thanks for letting me get that craziness off me chest!

Have a wonderful eve gals! :)

I'm hoping Capitan Tarzan puts in an appearance in the last few min of Barca/Seville.

  36. cescist says:

I LOVE CESC!! there's no one else for me.

    • Mrs Fabregas, V.Persie........oh, what the heck, Mrs the whole Arsenal team says:

lol. You are so right. I ADORE, LOVE and any other words to explain Cesc…………………….. SIGH!!!! My friend an i cannot go without a day talking about him. plus im kinda the crazy fan coz i was on tv for him, during the world cup.

  37. nina_s says:

    Dear Kickettes,
it has been nine lifetimes since my last confession. Forgive me, Most Awesome Inspirors, for I have sinned, more as a rule of late than an honest regret…
Born in the wrong city, country even, what else could I do…? …My fate outlined from the start… And these days the odd few players, especially the one, although he does have no less than two good feet, and everything else to go…well, he lures me to the opitimy of w-r-o-n-g.
No, we don’t talk about it. The boys wouldn’t understand. And between being “the wrong” nationality and sex (and let’s not tell them how fabulously right that is, they can’t handle it) I’ve had to work hard enough at making them listen to my footy-thoughts — at all.
But you know what I mean! :)

  38. mamaly says:

I just go where Jose Mourinho takes me.

  39. RONALIZA says:

FIRST OF ALL,I wanna thank you Kickette ..

((YOU MUST WIN AN OSCAR FOR THE BEST POST EVER))

    OMG!!it's so Emotional..I'm gonna cry right now , I don't know why )-:

CRISTIANO RONALDO IS MY LOVE SINCE 2006, I'VE SUPPORTED MAN UTD AND NOW

    I'M Madridista.done.

  40. christinaLFP says:

the bigest sin ever but, im a Real Madrid fan and i think that…………………….Bojan Krkic is ADORABLE !!!!!!!!!!!!

  41. Hannah says:

i'm scottish but i am absolutely in love with cesc & fernando, so im ashamed to say i will be supporting spain when they play scotland in october :)

also im a liverpool fan so i always feel kinda guilty about liking cesc…

  42. Ines del Sol says:

I’m a Chelsea fan through and through but sometimes I just… *coughs* desire *coughs * LFC Steven Gerrard. Not mentioning Verma. Or Joe Hart. On the other hand no force would make me want any ManU player. I’m sure I’m gonna go to hell and meet there my guilty pleasure Xabi Alonso as well.

  43. Sophie says:

I’m a Feyenoordfan, but I adooooore Toby Alderweireld from Ajax <333

  44. Alone Albuquerque says:

I´M brazilian , i love Manchester United , Real Madrid , Barcelona , Roma , Arsenal , Chelsea , Inter de Milão and the team with mens beautiful!!Thanks Kickette !!!

  45. dancingyidette says:

wowza theres just to many of them to choose from!

But for me its got to be Fernando Torres <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3 and Niko Kranjcar <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3 :D

I'm a HUGE Chelsea fan,but there's something in the Arsenal players that gives me fuzzies.I don't like any of them particulary, but they are hot as a group.Cesc,Robin,Chamakh,Arshawin,Nicky B…And Javier Hernandez(Chicharito)<3<3<3 is a real candy, too bad he plays for Man Utd which I HATE:(

    • Femz says:

Omg Chelsea all the way!!I hate Man Utd as well. But I'm really loving Fernando Torres right now…

    • lulu says:

You should just give in to those fuzzies and become a gooner. You wont regret it. Can you bring Malouda with you? It is a love that dare not speak its name.

      • Andy says:

Oh NO,that will never happen! I love CHELSEA too much to leave them…

        • YoungChelsea4Life says:

Good for you babe, CHELSEA ALL THE WAY! I la la lurve Drogba and of course Lamprad, Terry, Anelka, Malouda, ASHLEY COLE, and pretty much all of them but I have to agree, the Arsenal players are rather HAWT! Especially Van Persie, he = YUMMY!!!

  47. Alone Albuquerque says:

Sou fã de todos so times que tem jogadores Yoahnn , Cesc , Niko e tantos outros que podem e devem me fazer feliz . Amo todos realmente são maravilhosos !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  48. Figy says:

I'm a Barca girl all the way, speaking internationally. I abhor the Dutch NT for their playing against my beloved Spaniards but there is something about Van Persie that I can't put my finger on that I love. Probably because he plays with Fabregas.

I'm American so loving football is strange enough and when it comes to the MLS I'm a Sounders fan. I love the boys in green. I also love Juan Pablo Angel. It feels so wrong to love the captain of another team, but he's so Juan Pablo Angel there is no other adjective for him than his own name.

    • Evy says:

I usually never post comments, and I wasn't planning to today either, but that was before I found a fellow Sounders fan! And no, I don't share your love of Juan Pablo Angel, but Steve Zakuani is absolutely adorable!!

And ok, ok, because this is a confession post I may as well make my confession: Jesus Navas. There. I did it. Happy, kickette?

      • zztop says:

if Navas is ordained as a priest as the rumor has it, he can hear your confession himself!

      • Figy says:

Well Evy this is the day for that. I read but usually never post until I read a post from a fellow Habs fan (hockey) and my beloved Koivu. I felt it was only right to join in the rest of the conversation, too. I love Zakuani but Montero is such a little cutey, too!

  49. Jessie says:

I’m also american like some others here but none of our guys are that hot. I love mostly spaniards, pique, sergio ramos, jesus navas, iker, fernando, one french, yoann gourcuff, and portuguese cristiano despite being a baby daddy, lol

  50. cherryboomboom says:

Girls !! Have you watched ?!?!

At the end of Arsenal – Blackpoo game ,

Chamakh , Vela and Cesc were huggign each other …. SHIRTLESS!!! AAHH

kickette, you better get a picture of that !

    • Amy says:

      I'm a diehard Arsenal fan,

but Niko, why oh why do you have to play for our biggest rivals?

Jesus Navas is gorgeous too :)

I personally don't see what all the fuss is about over the Barca players, i don't think ANY of them are good looking. Yes i hate them because of what they're doing to Cesc, but how on earth can some Arsenal fans seem to forget about that because they're "handsome?"

Also (i think this is the question on everyones lips), why do Arsenal have such good looking players? I mean come on, us Gooner Gals are spoilt for choice; Cesc, Vermy, Robin, and the list goes on and on :)

      • Arsenal says:

Hey Amy! You are so right, and best of all, im also a die hard Arsenal fan. We are the gooner gals no doubt about that.

I was so lucky, because i am an Indian girl from South Africa and i was so lucky to get to see Spain vs Switzerland, Netherlnds vs Japan and Brazil vs Portugal. I was on tv for my banner saying " Fabregas, Always a gunner" I dont know if you saw it though/ i was the girl with the glasses.

lol. I love cesc so much its so creepy.

        lol

We do have all the great guys.

    • Amy says:

I so didn't mean to post my last post where i did!

I suppose I'm a bit disillusioned from the gorgeous on show at the end of the Arsenal game :D

      • Dutch89 says:

Gurl i thought i was the only who does not find any of the Barca players attractive, and now i cant stand them because of the Cesc saga but lets not go there right now…PS Gurl am with you with Niko i cant believe i have a devilish crush on a dude who plays for our arch enemy Grrrr….

MAn were lucky we support arsenal with sooomany gorgeous players, we ARE spoilt for choice ;)

      • cherryboomboom says:

        LOL at Amy :P

I guess gunner abs just distract us and let us put comments everywhere :P

    • Zlatanista says:

      I saw!! Heaven!!

    • christinaLFP says:

omg i hate you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( not literally)why didnt i see that game????????????? o yeah i was having breakfest (stupid food)

    • lulu says:

Please kickette. please get those photos. Sky cut the link just before the shirtless hug. Can we sue?

    • Dutch89 says:

Gurl i saw that…what a way to end a brilliant game…we need pictures ASAP hehehehe

  51. cookiesandcreme says:

    hey what about michael carrick?!

  52. dancing_yidette says:

Dang theres just far too many of them to choose from :S

But for me it just has to be Niko Kranjcar <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3 and Nando Torres <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

  53. goonerette49 says:

well im a gooner i like D Agger, Mourinho and
mikel arteta too but I sort of like Everton

I love my Arsenal boys too RVP, Cesc, Aaron, Tommy V

  54. michelle says:

Born in Israel, I know I should support my land and all, I just don’t find our football very good. Or ‘attractive’, in other words.
Anyway, since my grandparents do live in Germany, I highly adore die Mannschaft. I find the players so very adorable (Schweinski, Özil, Cacau … No need to explain, right ;) )
Anyway, around the year of 2008 I noticed ‘Nando. In the finals of the UEFA against Germany. I really started hating him after he scored the goal [God, WHY HIM ?!?!] But in my heart I was MELTING -like butter under the sun- everytime the camera focused on him.
This year, I was totally supporting die Mannschafft (Trying to watch every game, being on nerves)But then I saw ‘Nando. And, GOD, he looks adorable. Every time I saw him I started shouting “He is sooooo fake! He is the exact opposite of GaGa because he dyes his hair in brown !!! BOOOOO on him !” (My parents did laugh about it, though I really meant it. I liked him better with blond …) But then I managed to do a little research, with no results, though, on what is his hair colour (Girls, can you PLEASE help me out with this ? :P )
But then me and mum came upon the cute and OMG-SOOOOO-ADORABLE Sneijder. I really wonder some times if he really is just cute or handsome. But since the Netherlands are near Germany, it is OK to adore them. [RIGHT ?!]
When Germany played against Spain, my heart really tore appart. I wanted Deutschland to win, but thinking about sad ‘Nando made me quite … ‘sad’ myself …
Anyway, right now my favourite teams are Germany, Spain, and Netherlands.
    -
I also do highly support Liverpool, (Ooooh, Nando and Stevie ^^) Bayern München, (Obvi. : Schweini, Müller, BADSTUBER :D ) Schalke 04 (Neuer and Raúl are too irresistible) and Real Madrid (Too many hot players. *Iker and Özil with his calm eyes :D *)
But it is so stupid of me loving so many teams, I’ll think about letting some loose :P

Okay, I really need to stop typing now, or else I won’t go out of this house for days …

    • Ms. Emma Krkic Perez says:

Nando used to die his hair blonde, he is naturally a brunette though. I was lost like you too when i saw his short haircut, i was like hey! where is the blonde. But i love nando none the less XD

  55. manutd(L). says:

diego forlan! should come back to united ;)

not really rivals with barca but zlatan!(L)

    i love sergio ramos!

  56. Karina says:

I support Chelsea and am a blue girl, as well as having the unf and fuzzies for Steven Gerrard and Xabi Alonso.

Will I go to the hell for that? :P

  57. bangbang says:

    You know what ? I'm a rugby fan !

And I fancy all these handsome football players !! ALL

    Curse you fooootbaaaaaall !!!!!!

  58. Ms. Emma Krkic Perez says:

I heart Liverpool (Nando and Legendary Stevie and Joe Cole and Brad Jones..) and the list goes on. I also looooove Barcelona, the club saying is so right mes que en club (it's more then just a club) it's a bunch of hot guys too. VISCA BARCA!! GO REDS!!

I love ALL Barca players except Sergio Busquets he is arrogant.

Even though I loove Barca I still love Rivals, Ramos, Kaka', Albiol, Arebloa, Ozil and Higuain XD

  59. julia says:

Liverpool 1000%.. Always! But had a huuuuuge crush on C-ron when he played for Man U, which obviously are not acceptable!! Its not until now when he plays for Real Madrid that I’d actually been able to tell people about my “little” crush I still have… I’m not saying its acceptable now, but at least I don’t fancy a Man U player now which is the worst thing you could do. Ha ha. ;)

  60. Zlatanista says:

I´m a diehard Barca fan, but i have never considered it a sin to express appreciation for other teams or players.

    Hence here we go:

In the EPL i wish Arsenal and Liverpool the very best and i try to see as many games i can. I have a crush on Marouanne (if he could only find a decent hairdresser). And of course Nando is gorgeous! I don´t get the Cescy-thing at all though.

In La liga i must confess that i like the way RM play football, even if they are our main rivals. And Ramos is one of the sexiest guys i have ever seen.

But since the World cup there is one guy i haven´t been able to get out of my mind, and that is Jesus Navas. I mean, the guy is a mystery! He can be so cute, even look like a little girl when he smiles, but at the same thime he´s smoking hot. And then his eyes are almost scary sometimes. What´s with that guy? He´s almost making me forget about my darling Zlatan :)

    • ms. thalia says:

oh shit me too … lol

    • cescist says:

its not just about cesc's looks though. its his personality which i find so charming and he comes across as really charismatic and yet adorable in his interviews.

but the way you're with cesc im with torres, i dont like him at all, so i kinda get where you're coming from

      • Zlatanista says:

Though i think Cesc looks kind of ordinary, he seems like a great guy and i enjoy watching him play :)

    • ishay says:

Am surprised that there is not as much interest from the girls for Jesus Navas! internet and twitter searches do not provide much at all. He is gorgeous and yes, mysterious! adds to his allure

    • Leya says:

      yeahhhh Jesus Navas!

I’m actually really excited to read more and more women on here posting about him bc I, too, have been like mesmerized by him since World Cup. I remember Spain’s first game, Fern didn’t start and JN was on instead and all I saw where absolutely GLOWING eyes, and I was like “omg, who is that?!?! i’m in love!” (which, mind you, is how I felt about Fern during the 2006 World Cup and I saw him score and slide across the pitch holding out his arms to reveal his name spelled in elvish tattooed across it).

I know this thing has like ~450 comments at this point, but scroll down and look at all the Jesus Navas posts (it’s most advisable to hit Ctrl+F and just search his name)! There are a lot of us out there who love him!

      • Zlatanista says:

Yes i was thinking the same thing. Time for some coverage of the little mystery man with the intense eyes, Kickette!

        • Leya says:

I think after this (purely brilliant) post, the ladies at Kickette will have to succumb to the overwhelming demand for Jesus Navas! By just sheer numbers alone, I think he's the number-one-talked-about not-previously-featured footballer in this thread!

    • zahara says:

i thought i was one of the few girls who is in love with jesus navas but the more the merrier..he is just too beautiful

      • cymraeg_ddraig says:

I’m off to Sevilla in just 10 days but unfortunately its Euro Qualifying time so no JN stalking unfortunately as I’m guessing he will be away with the NT :( However, Madrid a few days later and I will be paying RM a visit. Please pray that Alonso just happens to hanging around? As you do?

  61. LoveFootballLoveFootballPlayers says:

This won’t be public knoweledge right? :) Well, my super football love is Mexico of course. I’ve lived in the US practically my entire life and all around me I saw football as I grew up though in school kids preferred baseball/basketball/american football. It wasn’t until ’94 that my passion for football began but also discovered that I could love other teams like Italy my second national love. After a few WCs I became in love with the Neds and France. I for some odd reason hate Brazil which is weird because I’ve had a crush on Roberto Carlos since I was a preteen. I also disliked very much Spain NT and I had refused to ever see them played until they player the US and I wanted them to lose even though I don’t like the US NT.

Now my heart aches for the spanish boys not only are they gorgeous but also talented. Wow! Against Mexico, well, Mexico will ALWAYS come first but against Italy, France, and the Neds will be hard to choose. Without Pique and Xavi maybe it will get easier to root against Spain….someday, maybe.

In the Mexican league I adore my azulcrema colors and I’m Americanista since the day I first saw them play, but when it comes to loving other players not on my team but based on talent and yes, their looks usually I’m only attracted to goalies like Corona, Vilar, and for some reason I find Villalpando very attractive.

  62. Dreamii says:

im a straight up arsenal supporter but i really love Giovani dos santos <333

and most of the barca squad evev after everything they've said =)

    • Leya says:

those Mexican boys are really super adorable: Gio at Tottenham, Chicharito at Man.U, and Vela at Arsenal….soooo yummy

  63. Amandinha says:

I think we’ve learn a valuable lesson here: Everytime you’re in need of comments, just put the word “Confessions” in the title. Or maybe just “Spain NT”.

  64. Love Sergi says:

Manchester United and Real Madrid are my favorite teams. Of course, I love all my boys, ;)

But for the rivals…I love love love Nando!! And for Barca, I love Gerard, Bojan, David Villa, Carles, and the other Sergio. Obvi, the first three are the better looking of the three.

Haha the Barca boys and Nando (I find Gerrard and Carra cute too) are hot, but Los Blancos are the greatest looking team I have ever seen (excluding the Spanish NT). Well, you know what? Maybe they are tied now, cause there are just way too many gorgeous men on Real.

I don’t follow the other leagues as much, but I love Wesley Sneijder and of course Yoann.

Ok, Lampard is a hottie too and I hate Chelsea. Awww too bad Michael Ballack is gone cause I love him too.

    • katie says:

i’m a united and real madrid fan, too, and i can’t help but love pique. he is truly my weakness. also, in terms of premier league players, nando, gerrard, and skrtel are delish! tbh, idk if i have ever seen a team as gorgeous as the slovakia nt… TOO GOOD LOOKING. idk if they have one player i don’t find attractive…

  65. NandoCesc lover says:

lets see: Barca fan forever. Lovin’ Liverpool. Cesc! Cesc! Cesc! Cesc!!!!!! I’m not an Arsenal fan, but i do love me some Cesc! and also, I only like Iker, Xabi, and Rafa from Real Madrid :)

  66. Rach says:

I was brought up to support my local team, millwall. My dad and uncles have been going for 45 years, so i had no choice (not that I would choose a different team!) So when I moved to Valencia a few years ago it seemed natural to support the local team there too. And then piqué appeared at the mestalla and I had a very awkward time trying to cheer on ‘los che’ while the opposition defence was about 10 feet away…

  67. Dedo-7 says:

    im totally a barca fan…..

its hard to chose one playes so

for arsenal its #4cescy for sure

    for barca

    #3david villa

    #5pique

    and #2messi ofcourse

    sevilla

    jesus navas

    realmadrid

    ramos

    ronaldo

    xabi

    liverpool

    #1torres <3 <3

    pepe

    gerrard

  68. Katty says:

I’m a liverpool fan through thick and thin, I love Xabi Alonso who is in Real Madrid now, and I completely hate that team, even though I can’t stop my love for Xabi, that started even when he wasn’t in Liverpool. For me, he’s not a real player.

  69. Leá says:

I will support Real Madrid until the day I die, but I have a soft spot in my heart for Bojan and Pique. And when Cesc comes back to Barcelona, I am going to be very conflicted…

  70. Rusty (Mrs Clemens Fritz) says:

Mesut Oezil is compromising himself far more playing for Real Madrid than I am crushing on any football player. I’m pretty good.

  71. C says:

I am a Southern Californian girl through and through. By default my local teams are the Los Angeles Galaxy and Chivas USA and my NT is obviously the USMNT (I am SO PROUD of our run at the World Cup!). But I have several confessions to make: I follow the EPL waaaay more than I follow MLS, and recently I’ve been watching Bordeaux games featuring of course our favorite Frenchie. I am two for two for Bordeaux games this season, which is two games more than any Galaxy or Chivas games combined that I’ve seen all year. And when we played Brazil a few weeks ago, I inadvertently started cheering for the Brazilian NT. Oops!

  72. lamarseillaise says:

I’m a diehard OM fan, through and through, even if the players I love keep leaving, but I adore Hugo Lloris SFM. It just means OM needs to make Lloris work more during their games so he can get more camera time. O:)

  73. Karen says:

Even though I’m from the States I’ve been a diehard Chelsea fan since I was 7 however I have a major crush on Joe Hart despite him not being on my beloved Blues.

  74. Rachel S says:

I will always support team USA, being American and all…but ever since the beginning of this year’s WC, I simultaneously threw my support to the Spanish NT because I’ve always wanted to study abroad in Spain and probably will next year. It’s a dumb reason, and odd to support 2 NT’s, but yeah. Of course my love for the Spanish NT increased hundred-fold when I realized how truly gorgeous the players are. I have to also confess, I was a Barca fan, but since I’ve finally seen the light on the beauty that is El Ramos, I’m extremely conflicted. So yeah, until I resolve that issue, I’ll just be a general Spanish NT fan if that’s “allowed” haha.
Besides Sergio, here’s my other footie loves:
    -Gerard Pique
    -Sex Fabregas
    -Michael Bradley (anyone else???)
    -Aaron Ramsey
    -Torres(duh lol)
    -and recently, Jesus Navas…

    • Liz says:

      Yes, on Micheal Bradley! :)

    • Zinny says:

I feel the same way! I love my USMNT and I am so proud of all the boys but the Spanish national team is amazing. I make sure I watch every match- which is more than I can say for the American team. I'm just glad I'm not the only American with a passion for la roja!

    • Emily says:

yes yes yes Michael Bradley!!!! It's nice to have company; all my friends can't see why I like him, and I can't explain it but he's just…. :)

  75. Linda says:

Honestly! You should have seen the looks my friends gave me during the WC final…
Obviously cheering for la roja when you’re dutch isn’t the greatest idea I’ve ever had!
Luckily none of my friends are super passionate about football, i did leave my miniature flag at home though…safety first you know

oh and there’s that thing about me supporting Barca all the way footballwise but loving Real to drool over
    Gosh live is hard…

  76. Mrs.FernandoTorresAustralia says:

As you can see frommy name i am the biggest ‘Nando Torres fan, hate to disappoint you girls but i am. I am also the biggest liverpool fan for reasoons of great ball technique and yummy players, aka steven gerrard and nando :)
but i hate to betray them but i am also a huge real madrid an, not as much as liverpool, but it is true. They aso have great ball technique but they have xabi alonso, c-ron, iker and not to mention the newbies khedira and ozil.
however my aussie pride will never fade as they are my favourite sccer team by far (spain being my second)
Harry Kewell! Lucas Neill! Tommy Oar! Carl Valeri! Tim Cahill! (not so much)
Aussie Aussie Ausse Oi Oi Oi
    but EPL is the best
Fernando Torres “falls to the ground, fainting from the yumminess and lustfulness”

    • Mrs.FernandoTorresAustralia says:

      oops i forgot:
      yoann gourcuff
jesus navas and his sexy eyes :)
      kaka and his cutieness
sex fabregas (how culd i forget him)
      beckham
gerard pique he is so hot and adorable
      pepe reina, go the reds!
and how could i forget the ever so hot LUKAS PODOLSKI, my first soccer crush and still going
have i mentioned fernando torres :P

  77. Emme says:

Okay, holdup! I saw this post when I checked Kickette last about twelve hours ago and now there are enough comments to publish a novella! What a topic :) Thanks Kickette!

    • Lisa says:

In terms of readers comments, this is the best thread since “Footie Love: When Did It Start For You?”. I’m loving all the stories, very heartfelt. please Kickette don’t delete any of them.

      • Rachel S says:

yeah this post is awesome!! I’m lovin’ reading all the comments, and the fact that there are so many people with confessions that mirror mine…makes it seems more acceptable lol!

        • Emme says:

Seriously, by Sunday night Kickette will be able to publish a full-fledged novel on Forbidden Footy Lust!

  78. kiwinay says:

My first post here though it seems that the post might already be dead but I can relate so much so I’m telling my story anyway. I don’t come from a footballing country so I reserve the right to like whoever I want because I didn’t grow up with regional loyalties. First got into footie in the late 90s via Man U. Have loved and still love Giggs and Scholes. But will admit to having been first attracted to it via Becks. I still love Man U but started hating them in my heart just because I can’t stand CRon. When Becks moved to RM, I discovered the first galacticos and started liking some of them individually (Zizou, Iker, Roberto Carlos). Then for some reason I can’t explain, Steven Gerrard came into my radar and so betraying my first love, I started following Liverpool. This was the time that they were making an unlikely run for winning the CL and since I love rooting for underdogs, I was cheering them on. It didn’t help of course that Chelsea whom I detested (mainly because of Mou) was always on their case. So from then on it was Liverpool with Stevie G, Xabi and Nando. Then this year came along and through Xabi and Nando, I got reacquainted with Spanish football. And because I love the SNT, I am now liking both Barsa and RM (despite the presence of CRon and Mou). And that is the story of my messed up world of football.

  79. talia says:

i am a DIE-HARD barca fan but god real madrid just has soooo many sexy players
sergio ramos(oh rmaos how i adore thee) ,cristiano, marcelo, pepe, kaka, etc… arghhh i feel so ashamed
also jesus navas, fernando llorente, ahhh well anyone that has played or plays for the spanish national team

and im a liverpool fan so i depise any EPL team and player(except for the spanish ones of course)

oh did i mention that i’m dominican but i live in the US(hehe naughty)
i thank you kickette for letting me air out this confession it was much needed

  80. Abby says:

Oh it's hard living in the U.S. Kickette's! Not many people I know share my enthusiasm for football (after all it is American football season now!) and I just can't seem to get into the MLS…so if loving Sergio Ramos, whatever team he plays on, is wrong, who wants to be right? Ever? :)

    • Emme says:

I totally understand your dilemma!!! Living in America, it's like you're cut off from the whole fabulous world of football! I kind of feel like a traitor for following La Liga rather than the MLS, but Real Madrid has had a hold on me ever since I saw the film 'Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait.' Xabi might have something to do with it too. I feel like a bad American, but I cannot resist my one and only ginger love!

      • Elizabeth says:

We are cut off and the poor MLS is just not at the level of the European leagues. It really does suck being a futbol fan in the US. Especially in Dallas where its all Cowboys all the time. Oh back on topic…I’m a Real Madrid girl but damn you Pique why must you be so hot..

        • Abby says:

Thanks for the solidarity sisters! I live in the Midwest and I grew up a huge American football fan, but there doesn't seem to be much allowance for a crossover to the other (better!) football esp. when you live between Bears and Colts country! So this weekend I'll be cheering for Los Blancos…no shame!! haha!! La Liga all the way! And yeah, I need to get into the Spanish commentary too…much more passionate!

I live in America but I’m not an American and I know exactly how you feel. Being a woman is hard enough when you like football specially around other males and I think worse when females ask why would I like such a sport. I follow Mexican football and used to follow Italian football until they stopped putting in it on free broadcasting. I don’t like ESPN since I prefer spanish speaking commentators since I feel like they get into the game and often make funny references to things I relate to. Saying that, I love my team America, I wasn’t born where they are from, but I’m in a family of Chivas their #1 enemy and I’ll defend them even in their worse times. I do however, have a crazy kind of loving for Pique. I have even thought about sharing my love with Barca. I don’t know though, I’m a loyal person. I feel like I would be cheating on one of my greatest loves. What to do… Pique drives me nuts not only because of that face and gorgeous abs but he’s extremely talented and a warrior.

      • Emme says:

Okay, so I think the four of us need to have a conference call or something to discuss! :) The only people I have to talk to about football are my brothers which is pretty boring since it is mostly about transfers, technical stuff, and player stats. I love American football, but there is nothing like the passion and history of the European leagues and rivalries! I wrote into Kickette and suggested that they do 'A Yankee Girl's Guide to European Football' to give us some insight about where to go on the web to watch games and the best sites to keep up with our footy. I hope they do it. Los Blancos have stolen my heart, but I will always love the USMNT and the recent acquisition of Rafa Marquez to the MLS might make me pay a little more attention.

        • Rachel S says:

Count me in as another American girl, trying to fully enjoy my footy obsession in a country that doesn’t exactly encourage it! As much as I love American football, real football is definitely the better sport. Not to mention the players are 1000x hotter lol.
Emme–Love the “Yankee Girl’s Guide to European Football” idea, as I am a bit lost when it comes to watching games(read: LA LIGA) besides the MLS (which frankly doesn’t do it for me)!

        • LoveFootballLoveFoot says:

Oh Emme that's a great idea. I use to follow the eruo teams mainly spain and italy but you miss a couple of months and you get lost so fast. I hope they take you up on that idea. I would be more than happy to follow up every chance I get. I wish I could see the games online. Especially the Barcelona games and Inter's. Oh! Parayguay I pray for your player "Pajaro" Benitez, and I hope that everything is okay with him now. He scared the hell out of me today during the game. My best wishes.

        • Leya says:

          I feel your pain!

I'm also an American and it can be really hard to all the games.

But I'm gonna tell you straight up, that its really like IMPOSSIBLE to follow as much footy as you want!

ESPN2 has been pretty good at covering the EPL and also Fox Soccer Channel as well. Plus MSG covers MLS on top of that. GolTV and ESPNDeportes are supposed to cover La Liga, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, and like all things Spanish, but I don't get those channels, unfortunately. Let down!

But honestly, between club seasons starting, international friendlies ending, UEFA Champions League Qualifying, individual country tournaments and friendlies, EURO 2012 qualifying, MLS mid-season, and more, there is WAAAAAAYYYYYYY too much football to keep track of it all! And I watch quite a lot of it. I would recommend "Super Sunday +" on FSC, as they'll give you the rundown of the weekend matches.

NFL preseason is starting right now, so I SHOULD be watching the Steelers and the Giants (grew up/live in New York, went to college in Pittsburgh) but I just CAN'T CARE. Football (real footy) has always had my heart, and has captured it even more so of late (since I got some real cable and since I found this website, haha)!

      • Emme says:

I first cheated on the USMNT after the Paraguay/Spain quarterfinal of the World Cup. I don't know if anyone else remembers this, but Oscar Cardozo of Paraguay was completely inconsolable after the game and many of the Spanish NT players were hugging and consoling him. It was quite a turn on considering how tense and emotional the game was. Their good sportsmanship and sensitivity + Xabi's ginger beard won me over. The Spanish NT definitely occupies a place in my heart now. I will always cheer for them. I just don't know why I can't be content with Benny and Boca (who by the way needs to be in the Finest Five before he retires)!

        • Deanna says:

Girls, I'm American too and no one gets it! Well my one friend does, but otherwise I always talk online to other people. I can't help that I'm a girl and love futbol! And yes I saw them consoling Cardozo and I was like OHHHHHH GAHHH! I just love them ALL!!! Ohk I'll try to settle down now. I think its their passion that is such a turn on… Oh and the fact that they are gorgeous doesn't hurt either.

          • AngelDust says:

I’m American too and it really annoys me that no one I know really loves REAL football like I do. Everyone thinks American football is soooo much “manlier” It sucks.

Im completely obsessed with the ENTIRE Spanish National Football team. All of the players, from the ones that everyone loves: Iker Casillas (im surprised no one has mentioned him),Villa, Xavi,Xabi Alonso,Jesus Navas, Cesc Fabergas, and of course El Niño….to the more obscure ones like David Silva and Xavi and Pepe Reina.

But the ones I’m most obsessed with are Iker Casillas,Sergio Ramos, and of course the beloved El Niño.

As for clubs I love Liverpool (Steven Gerrard!) and Real Madrid (all the SpainNT players plus Kaka and Wesley Sneijder.
            I can’t believe I actually like a Netherlands player!

And I am really sad that there isn’t another WC for FOUR years.
I don’t have cable so the only soccer I ever get to actually watch on TV is the World Cup on the Spanish channel.

I’m glad I finally found a bunch of American girls as obsessed as me :)

        • Emme says:

Okay, I totally meant the above post to be separate. Oh well.

  81. Scouse Lover says:

I’m a Liverpool Red….with a HUGE thing for Giggs AND Michael Owen. How screwed up is that?

  82. Dutch89 says:

And as am a Dutch-Somali girl living in England (both big rivalries of the Germans) I find myself secretly crushing on Lukas Podolski hes just sex on legs :P but shhhh lets keep it between you (kickette), me, and kickette ladies ;)

    • Dutch89 says:

do you know what am not even going to lie i have a thing for Kranjear too and since sp*r are our #1 enemies i feel like am eating the 'foobidden fruits' so to speak lool. That is my shameful secret! hehehe

    • Leya says:

      ohhh Lukas…I love him.

Although i recently found out he has a child! Maybe i'm late finding that out but that was a shocker to me!

      • Dutch89 says:

Shut up! Really…Gurl am as late as you when it comes to finding things out lol I did not know he was a daddy….A hot daddy that is ;)

  83. I’m Irish but like we’re never good enuf to be in the WC or anything so my national teams are Oranje and La Roja :) I was supporting Holland tho’ in the final but am so glad Spain won cos of all the pictures of them afetrwards :D

    Liverpool
    -Pepe Reina

    Dutch NT,Spanish NT & Sooooo many,many,many,more :) :)

    • Leya says:

      I'm totally the same!

My family is from Trinidad and Tobago and we live in the US….but T&T pretty much never makes it to WC (except that one time…), and I like having national pride, but I've been secretly (or not so secretly) been dying to move out of the US for like my whole life (all 22 years of it!).

However, come WC time, my top two teams are DEFINITELY La Roja and Oranje! I was actually sort of indifferent when they played each other in the finals. I was pretty stoked, actually, bc it didn't matter which team won, I'd be happy. But I did want La Roja to win just .0000001 a bit more because I want to move there, and those boys are just all soooooo yummy!

Although Wesley Sneijder's face just about BROKE MY HEART when they lost…but jeez did he look hot!

And thank you for putting Jesus Navas in your list!!! I'm STILL WAITING KICKETTE for him to be on the front page!

Although to all the ladies who think they're gonna marry him, the bad news is that he plans to become ordained after he retires from pro footy; the good news is that you most likely will never see him making out on a beach in Greece with some girl like some other people who shall remain nameless!

      • C16 says:

Doesn't Navas have a gf? Or am I totally wrong? LOL

      • Amy says:

Aww Jesus Navas… the eyes.. soo beautiful :) Kickette you really need to be googlig this guy!

What about CRon? I think he is Hott… him and Mercelo are so cute <3

      • Ahh Sneijders face was just…yum even though i was crying after they lost haha :)

Really?I didn’t know he wanted to b ordained :( i’m usually so up to date with these kind of things.Im still waiting too i love jesus Navas like!anyways i could never b with him i’m only 13 :( lol

        • Oh i reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally hate Cristiano…maybe cos he played for Man U :) xx

          • cymraeg_ddraig says:

I really hate C-Ron too…I don’t think its the Man U link in this case, I just find him very off putting!

I also totally get your point about your nation and the world cup, I’m from Wales and we are NEVER going to get there! So in 1994 at the tender age of 8 I decided to make Sweden my adopted nation. They served me pretty well until this year…..so I went shallow this year and supported Spain!

      • zztop says:

I’ve been pushing for Navas for a while but he is a wierdo. Ordained? Who says that? So 16th Century. Also, he has a girlfriend I wonder what she thinks of his plans?

Instead of Navas, may I recommend Diego Perotti, the other Sevilla winger. He sounds like a normal, intelligent person and he’s beautiful.

        • zztop says:

That wiki entry on Navas sounds like a hoax. BUt he for sure very religious, which is strange. PLenty of people are religious, but for a 24 year old guy to declare himself “VERY religious” sounds suspiciously gay.

          • yeah thought he had a girlfriend too…Not shur bout the gay part though..

          • Leya says:

haha, zztop, thanks for pointing out the wiki hoax!

its so funny bc i was reading the wiki article and totally clicked the links for all the OTHER facts (about him having severe anxiety issues or whatever) and neglected to notice that the one about him becoming ordained lacks citation.

            whoops.
forgot about the whole wiki is NOT infallible thing, lol.

newayz, as for Jesus Navas being a weirdo………..as much as I don’t wanna say it, he kind of is! He has some seriously intense s**t in his life with his crazy anxiety and homesickness!! But at least he’s working through it and he scored at WC!

I totes agree with the CR7 haters – he’s just sort of irritating to me, I don’t know.

            (mumbles under breath)
…although sometimes he DOES look pretty spectacular.

            (loud clear voice)

but he’s so over-tan and EXTRA coiffed, a little overrated as a player, and just kind a douche (can i say that?) overall!

            • Rachel S says:

agree with you about C-Ron…sometimes I see a picture of him and just think, "dayummm!!", but most the time, my opinion of him is that he's too tan and coiffed, as you say.

            • loveu2much says:

i read that article u should read the part where it says he has a bromance with sergio ramos love it i love it lol

        • cymraeg_ddraig says:

I don't believe the "ordained" stuff but then it might not suprise me given how religious he is….Personally it puts me off, I mean I'm open minded and would do a lot for my partner but I don't think I'd be getting up on Sunday mornings i.e lie-in day, for church!

        • Zlatanista says:

As i wrote in my post i have a huge crush on Navas but at the same time he scares me! Those eyes are so intense and his religiosness seems pretty serious. It wouldn´t surprise me if he became ordained after his football career is over. But he is an enigma. He says he doesn´t think about sex because he is very religious but he has a girlfriend. But i´m not the best judge of these things coming from the worlds most secular country, Sweden.

      • LoveFootballLoveFoot says:

Leya! Why did you have to remind me of that horrible day oh why??? I was okay with remembering Pique with his (thinking positively of course) his shirt half off during the queens visit in the locker room and you mentioned this and that one pic I saw came to mind and broke me back into reality. Guess now I have to go look at some more of Pique's pics where he is just by himself and smiling oh wait! I also have that lip licking video. Don't want to be in reality land, I just want for the rest of the day to be in Piqueland….. I'm just going to pretend that post never happened.

  84. Amandinha says:

I don´t care!!! Where on earth is my Friday Fit?!?! Don´t get me wrong, I love me some Cescy sexyness, but I need a shirtless footballer with a naughty glance if I want to survive this weekend!!!

  85. Julia says:

Arsenal fan here. With a ridiculous love for David Silva. He looks so yummy in the Man City light blue.

    • zztop says:

Silva is adorable. He gets lost behind the flashy ones.

      • Ceros says:

Ha – awesome! I thought I was the only one who somewhat fancied Silva. Such a cutie!

I'm an Athletic Club de Bilbao supporter (Llorente, Aitor Ocio, Javi Martinez…) but I fancy Xabi Alonso which it is very, very wrong given he's a Real Madrid player. Very wrong!

        • Julia says:

I'll have to agree with you on Xabi Alonso. He's such a man when compared to some of the gangly teenagers.

      • Deanna says:

I have loved Silva for the last 4 years and he's the reason I love the Spanish NT! I am so glad there are are other Silva lovers out there!!!! This post is making me too happy!

  86. Mrs.DiegoForlan says:

i think i've mentioned this somewhere, but i'm a die hard chelsea fan. nevertheless, i find myself drooling over:

Sex Fabregas, for obvious reasons, Niko Kranjcar, Theo Walcott, Giovanni Dos Santos, Roque Santa Cruz, Nando, Aitor Ocio, Alexandros Tzorvas, KaKa, StevieG, Carlos 'Mocha' Boca, Marouane Chamakh, Lorik Cana, Ramos, Iker, JESUS NAVAS, the whole damn spanish team, zlatan-the-man, and YOANN Gourcuff (most aren't in the EPL, but still :) )

oh and my hubby Diego. can't forget him, now, can I?

  87. krnflakgrl says:

I'm a Red through and through…love my Liverpool boys..but Fabregas for some reason just does it for me…in a BIG way…just can't hide it any more. Don't even want to! :) Love this site! Just found it tonight!

  88. Maria K says:

Nobody compares to CR & Yoann Gourcuff ;)

  89. Gennifer with a G says:

That's really a tough one. I've found that even the players that aren't blatantly gorgeous are interesting-looking enough to seriously hold your attention. Maybe it's their cute kits…

  90. xoWinnie says:

oh god, we’re doing country too!?!

well i was born in Angola, but i grew up in Portugal and have Portuguese and Brazilian ancestry as well as Angolan! so if you can imagine, it’s hard to love anyone else when nearly EVERYONE is your rival! :P

first, i designate my loyalties according to these facts: Angola almost never participates in any of the competitions i watch, so they’re out (unless they participate of course, lol). Portugal is number one, since i grew up there before i came to Canada and most of my family lives there. Brazil follows because, well, i am part Brazilian!

not for lusting after our rivals…

Spain is one of our biggest rivals (Portugal) since we’re neighbours and all. so i have to deal with the anxiety of watching my boys go against all my Real boys, like Sergio, San Iker, Xabi, etc, not to mention having to experience hot flashes from the appearances of Pique, Cesc, Navas & co!

after the ordeals at Euro ’04 and WC – 06, it’s pretty clear that England are one of our biggest rivals as well. but good lord as soon as Joe Hart gets named their #1 keeper i have no idea what i’ll do with myself. and if Theo Walcott gets called up…well damn. then i have to deal with other players i simply love (but don’t lust after) like JT, Lampard, etc (if they get called back that is).

then there’s Germany. Die Mannschaft. who i dubbed myself an honorary fan of this past WC when i just FELL IN LOVE WITH THEIR TEAM. what can i say? Schweinski for all! Schweinski FOREVER! not gonna lie, i’ve kind of been in the closet about my love for Schweini for a while, but as of late i’ve tossed my shame out the window (thanks to the fact that his hair is back to it’s natural shade. that bleached blond cut was ATROCIOUS!)

seriously, i’m gonna stop now, because if i have to continue, we’ll be here all day (and night).

  91. poprockprincess says:

Sergio Ramos rocks my world!!!! There are lots of hotties out there, but he’s my favorite. Especially with his shirt off.

    • poprockprincess says:

I love Real Madrid, support Spain and Brazil (Sergio and Kaka). I live in the US, but don’t hold it against me….LOL

    • loveu2much says:

i also love cesc, jesus navas, and yoann gourcuff but sergio ramos comes first he will always be my #1

    • hot.dayum.players says:

Sergio is the orgasm in my eye. (he gives my eye an orgasm)

  92. Ofeily9 says:

City is not a Liverpool’s enemy no? ‘Cause I dont want to confess that I’m in love with Joe Cole. No I dont want.

  93. freddiegirl says:

My footy heart belongs to Arsenal and has since 2002. Even after my beloved Freddie and Thierry left I stuck with them because that's what you do. I was always a casual Barca fan until we lost to them in 2006 CL final; still upsets me to think of it! I started watching Real out of spite and really started to appreicate them; love Iker and am totally chuffed that Jose is the manager; just love him! I always felt guilty for crushing on him when he was at Chelsea! But now….now I have a crush on that darned David Villa and he's at Barca……ugh! It bugs me that I'll be rooting for Villa whan I see him play and I'm really dreading the day Cesc goes back to Barca because we all know he will….sorry Barca fans but I just dislike your team; never forgave the way the 2006 final went down…..yet I have such a crush on Villa……no bueno….

    • Dreamii says:

I hear you! especially with the on-going cesc debacle, we're supposed to be hating barca more than ever… yet i find myself crushing on quite a few of them. grr! why do this to me pique… WHY?!

  94. Erin says:

I have a more than passing obsession with LFC, and tend to be blinded to any hotness by club rivalries. I would really only consider Everton and ManU to be major rivals, and I can admit only to not hating Tim Cahill or Tim Howard. That's about it. If you play for ManU, you are dead to me. That includes you, Michael Owen.

  95. manutd(L). says:

oh god, i don’t know where to start. well as a man utd fan i hate to admit i secretly like aurelio of liverpool and also degen even though he’s on loan somewhere else atm, also i lovee mario gomez of bayern.
even though man utd and arsenal aren’t big rivals… vermaelen(L)! and iker of course!

  96. Lou says:

I am a huge crazy Barca Fan but I have to confess that last UCL season when they played against Arsenal I was cheering for our gorgeous Sex-Fabregas and their hot mates(Niky Bendtner, Carlos Vela, Robin). Completely high when Cesc scored that penalty ufff….

  97. Inés says:

well, I lust over the Arsenal players and I'm a Red Devil! :S

    Cesc Fabregas mainly!

  98. ShayeLee says:

Finally a chance to vent my frustrations!!
See I’m a Dutch/Portuguese girl living in Holland. I’m always in conflict about where my footy loyalties should lie, simply due to my background. Last WC I decided that I would only support the Dutchies, which I did with all my heart, dressed in orange all month. But then one day I spotted Spain’s NT. Never really paid attention to them but they were undeniably hot on the big screen. My oh my, did my heart skip a couple of beats. Xabi Alonso, Gerard Pique and the main reason for my infatuation: Iker… But why o why did they have to beat us in the finale!? I still wanted the Netherlands to win (I had several fantasies about how I would comfort Spain). But I couldn’t be mad at them though. But I knew I could never even mention my obsession with Spain’s NT with any of my friends. And so here I am on Kickette (I have only discovered it after the WC), secretly indulging on my guilty pleasure.

    • Deanna says:

Its ohk! I swore I absolutely hated the Dutch and now I look back and I like Wesley Sneijder and Van Persie and Robben is just so damn good and a couple others. It can be so hard hating players on another team when the footballers are good people deep down… and Hott on top of it! I will never admit to anyone that I like any member of the Dutch NT. NO ONE, but I confess it to you, kickette. It is true.

  99. JV says:

*looks behind* Well, as a ManU fan I probably shouldn’t love Cesc the way I do. Arsenal isn’t our biggest rival, but with all the bad blood between SAF and Wenger my Cesc love is rarely appreciated by other fans.

Ahem, while we’re at it, my second team is Barca. My tendency to watch Real games so I can ogle Cristiano, Sergio and recently Gonzalo is def. not something I advertise to the hardcore footies.

  100. Maria says:

As a Man Utd and England fan and loyal Kickette reader, I’ve been trying to resist the charms of San Iker, but when I watched the post-World-Cup-final interview with Sara Pastasauce… that kiss… DAMN!

  101. Kc95 says:

I know it's beyond wrong, being a hardcore Madrid fan and all, but I want Carlos Puyol real bad. There's something about how damn masculine he is.

I love my Madrid boys and their Louis bags to death, but sometimes… Well… A girl just gets to thinking.

I also have a thing for Mueller on the German team, which is forbidden by family rule because for some reason, my father hates the German team.

Oh and of course, I would take Xabi or the Ramos anytime. Over anyone.

The only footballers that truely make my skin crawl are Crouch, because he's gross, and Luis Suarez because he looks exactly like my abusive ex-boyfriend, body and all.

    • Jennifer says:

      Oh god, are you me?

I am a hardcore Madridista, and I love Sergio first and foremost… but omg Carles Puyol… unf. *swoon* It makes me feel kind of dirty and traitorous, but I cannot help it.

And I live for Madrid-Barça matches, because I know I can count on my two favorite defenders to get the abs out. Mmmmm… clásico indeed!

      • Kc95 says:

I'm glad to see there's someone out there who can sympathize with my situation. It's hard to deal with, as when the Barca/Madrid mathches happen, all my guy friends trash the players and all the girls comment on how much hotter our players are. Puyol is always the butt of the ugly jokes, and I just want to stand up and scream "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? ARE YOU CRAZY?!?" But I just have to bite my tongue and sit on my hands.

        • Jennifer says:

Luckily none of my friends are really all that interested in football, or if they are, in La Liga. But everyone seems to be in universal agreement on the ugliness of Puyi. "Tarzan" and "caveman" and "he needs a haircut" and all the usual uncreative insults. (To be fair, they also frequently apply these to The Ramos, for some reason…)

I just can never get up the nerve to tell them they're wrong.

          • Kc95 says:

The best Ramos has gotten from my friends is the description of Spanish Anthony Kedis. The worst I’ve heard for Puyol was, “it’s like Mickey Rourke and bull dog got together and made a baby.” They just want Cristiano. Psssh… Please.

            • Jennifer says:

Ew, even I don't want Cristiano! I love him and all, but… overtanned and greasy (with high-waisted pants) is not my style. Some people have no taste :-p

    • Mrs Puyol says:

O how i lpve it when i can share my love/lust /obsession for Carles with someone else! He´s simply the most gorgeous out there. True he´s not conventionally pretty, but he´s got a beautiful smile and the sexiest, manliest body… God, i´m getting carried away here :)

I´m all Barca, but i have got a thing for the Arsenal boys, and i must confess i secretly lust after the Ramos…yummie

      • Mrs Puyol says:

        *love (of course)

      • Kc95 says:

mmmhmmm… He’s got the bedroom look down cold.
Plus, he met the queen in nothing but his towel. I mean, come on! And they thought Beckham’s balls were impressive.

        • Mrs Puyol says:

Lol, i know!! That was an epic moment! Big bad captain Tarzan looked a little embarrassed. And i just wanted to rip that towel right off ;)

  102. pammy says:

im a complete bayern fan. but i LOVE xabi, cesc, and yoann

  103. K says:

I’m a Bayern Munich girl with a confused boner about Manuel ‘Duckie’ Neuer from Schalke 04. SCHALKE O4. What is this. I blame the World Cup.

    • WagInTraining says:

omg. me too! except mine's not confused-i have BIG LOVE for manuel-looks like a young, blonde, tom hanks-neuer

I also HATE Cristiano Ronaldo he is just soooo Ugly..:/

    • Manutdgirl says:

Why do you hate CRon he's lovely… i just think people dnt give him a chance…did you not see him with all the children in the hospital.. it broke my heart.. lol

      X

      • Witch says:

I agree people hate Cristiano without giving him a chance, he might come across as a using little t-wat, and in terms of football loyalty he is (reason number 3 why I hate Real Madrid, I'm still bitter about their slimy relentless tapping up of him) but deep down he's sweet and funny!

        • Manutdgirl says:

Yes some one who understands what am talking about…. Thank you :)

        • I did give him a chance…
It’s not his personality really it’s his the way he wears his tight jeans ,and his greasy body and his overly tanned face makes me feel sick and the fact that i get the hint that he is really full of himself in interviews ya’know ?
Sorry i just don’t get the attraction :)

  107. divadalliaa says:

United all the way, and Giggs and Vidic get me all a flutter, but Lampard and his lisp, siiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh, droooooooooooool…and Puyol something about his nose, i just can’t help but adore the man…

    • kate says:

hahaha I like your Puyol comment…I like his hair. There's something about his hair (and height) that makes him look like a cherub…sooo cute!

  108. C16 says:

I’m a Madridista but I have a not secret AT ALL crush on Gerard Piqué and Victor Valdes.
And I don’t feel guilty at all… I still wish they lose El Clásico and stuff but I can’t ignore their hotness.

  109. loveu2much says:

Oh my god i actually dread the days when i will have to watch a barcelona vs real madrid. im kinda new to football (used to call it soccer) started watching it 3 months before the world cup. and thats when i fell in love with barcelona (lol i watched replays) but then came along the world cup and hence came along the sexiness that was sergio ramos (i didnt know he played for real madrid cuz i didnt watch so i guessed he played for barcelona but was a bencher lol) soooo…i truly love barcelona even tho i didnt watch many of their games but sergio ramos is such a distraction that i just want to watch any match that he plays. lol thanks kickette for this confession oppurtunity. needed to get that off my chest

    • JulieFromParis says:

""sergio ramos (i didnt know he played for real madrid cuz i didnt watch so i guessed he played for barcelona but was a bencher lol)"

      ==> Super cute :)

  110. Nicola says:

i support arsenal, but it's mesut ozil that has my heart <3

  111. Witch says:

I love Man Utd more than 95% of everything else in this world, but I fancy the sweet peach cheeks off Drogba and Lampard. Luckily I fancy Vidic more than either of them so I don’t feel too guilty. Always have a special place in my heart for cute lil’ Rosicky too. My sister is feeling bad at the moment, she adores Mesut Ozil so much she would sell our granny for one squeeze, but as he’s now with the only non PL club we hate with ferocity, it’s killing her!

  112. Kristin says:

lol I think this almost happens to everyone… I’m a Barca supporter but I absolutely adore San Iker (and Xabi Alonso most of the times)! It’s no great deal, I guess… they’re absolutely gorgeous and absolutely amazing players, so why not have a thing for them?

  113. jacks says:

I’m an Arsenal fan, but I do like Tappas (Pique, Ramos, and Alonso). Roy Keane and Zenadine Zidane will always be very special to me!

  114. Moomin says:

I am a Forest fan but love Niko Kranjcar.. can't see my beloved Forest being in the Prem anytime soon so my loyalties are in no risk of being torn!

I hate Man Utd with a passion but have a bit of a thing for Owen Hargreaves-it makes me feel dirty though haha!

I also love the Spanish NT despite being English but I suspect i'm not alone in my lust for them!

  115. Zinny says:

Although I am a Barca fan, I hate the fact that I truly love the Real Boys (Sergio, Xabi, Higuain, Kaka, Iker). I feel like a complete traitor but I just love to watch them play! I even cheer for them. Unless they play Barca, of course. I am a horrible person. :(

    • Rossanera says:

Well then, I’ll be seeing you in hell, because I too love watching Los Blancos. They’re just. so. GOOD.

  116. CC says:

I'm from the US. Loving footy in general is forbidden. And I should be publicly humiliated for being able to name more than 5 members of the Espana NT.

    • Amandinha says:

It´s okay. You can like football a little bit. Just a little bit.

    • loveu2much says:

i know what you mean all my life living in the michigan i was never really "exposed" to football people only watch it on the WC but when i came to africa it became i new thing to me people love it so much here

    • Rossanera says:

Is it really? Maybe that’s why I’m having so much trouble blending in. Go Bears.

    • zztop says:

You have to move to a very urban area with a lot immigrants. New York has it’s own world cup “Copa NYC”. Pele gave away the cup this year. It’s very cute. Or chicago or LA where all the mexican immigrants play everywhere. I watched a hot pick up game the other day.

    • Kc95 says:

I know exactly what you mean. The only people who can talk to me about Football are a few select friends, family, and the Mexican dishwashers and the resturant where I work.

    • Leya says:

Yeah, i work in the South Bronx (for those of you unfamiliar, its one of the Boroughs of Manhattan, like just north of the island of Manhattan) at a community college, and the soccer team is a bunch of immigrants from various Spanish-speaking or African countries. It’s soccer talk all day long with them which is extra fun for me. And its good bc no one else I know or am friends with cares…

      ..except all of you <3

which is why I can never get off of this website.

      • Rossanera says:

You said it! None of my American friends understand the deep love I have of the beautiful game (and those that make it so damn beautiful!) On that note, if there any Kickettes in Chicago, pls get in touch with me :)

        • Lex says:

          Rossanera, I'm in Chicago! :)

I don't really have any confessions. I did cheer for Spain to win the cup, cause they're all just so damn hot, but that was AFTER the US had been knocked out (breaking my heart). And I do feel a little traitorous drooling over David Beckham, especially when he plays with the Galaxy. I hate those bastards.

By the way, I've never really been a big Freddie Ljungburg fan, but now that he plays for the Chicago Fire, wooooooooooooooooooo baby!! I'm in love.

        • zztop says:

          I'm in Chicago

        • Rachel S says:

Aaaah I feel the same way! No one I know cares about football, and if they do they're only fans during the WC. Sadness! So I must take refuge at this website…but I'm not complaining! ;)

        • zztop says:

I’m watching the Spanish SuperCopa tomorrow at the Globe Pub. Barcelona vs Sevilla. I have a thing for Sevilla, Navas is hot but strange, Kanouté ‘s the man, Fabiano’s fabuloso but my latest fervent crush is Diego Perotti.

          • Leya says:

ooooooo any ideas what channel I can catch the SuperCopa on?

            • Rossanera says:

I just checked and neither GolTV or the FSC are carrying it. So frustrating. Guess I will be heading to the Globe to watch Villa make his Barca debut! Thanks ZZTop for cluing me in !!!

          • Rossanera says:

Lex! What time are they airing the game? I live in Lakeview East so Globe is easy to get to … do you always watch games there? Did you know that English in River North broadcasts both EPL and La Liga games? I think that’s where I’ll be watching this year, on Sundays at least.

        • Deanna says:

          I’m in Chicago too!!!!!

          • Rossanera says:

Chicago-area Kickettes, I think we need to organize a group outing to Toyota Park to give Freddie some Kickette love. Anyone who's interested, pls send me a private msg.

  117. Lisa says:

This is for you senora ramos: As a diehard Barca fan for most of my life, I am totally in love with Sergio Ramos. Before him it was Guti, I have a thing for goofy dressers.

Most of the Real players and TSO are good looking guys but as soon as they pull on that white shirt, my lust for them disappears like some sort of chastity belt.

Sergio will always have my heart, in whatever trashy thing he is wearing. Whether he is in a Real Madrid shirt or (preferrably) no shirt at all.

    • JulieFromParis says:

sorry to interfere but would u pleazzz barca girls stick to your men, lol! There are enough crazy madridistas and others that are partly (not too say only) into the club because of The Ramos, it is really unfair *Crying like a baby at that point* that we have to share him with culegirls. Im sure there's a lot of ice-cream flavors among your team so stay at of our freezer!!

If not obvious, Im only joking here:)

      • Lisa says:

I love my ice cream flavors but every now and again I crave some meringue!

        • JulieFromParis says:

Oh god, worst of all is that i cannot resent, it's his fault bringing sexy back!! And I would have some of Fabregas even if he was a barcaboy

      • JulieFromParis says:

        ;)

      • loveu2much says:

lol nobody can stop loving that ramos so many people love him. wish i had a chance with him but hes 6 yrs older than me wtf!tearz

        • JulieFromParis says:

Why not sweetie? Im 25 and my husband is 33 (turns 34 in october). I guess you're 18, right? 18/24 is just fine :)

    • senora ramos says:

lol! lisa, no one can resist the ramos. it's ok. and guti!! i <3 my guti. i think it's quite funny how many blaugranas have lust for los blancos. but they are hot, so i can't blame y'all. lol! i'm sure you guys feel the same as i do about the relegated thing though ;)

and it's ok lisa, i'll share!

  118. cymraeg_ddraig says:

    I'm a die hard Spurs fan….but I love Cesc….Don't we all?

  119. Claire says:

I have NEVER fancied any player from our rivals (Spurs). There maybe is some good eye-candy, but the fact that it’s Tottenham… makes those players totally unattractive to me. :D

  120. Claire the Forest Fan says:

    :s
I’m a forest fan but I’m in love with
    sergio ramos

            • JulieFromParis says:

Ok, this is a long story but U asked for it Lulu :)

you read my hysterical comments about Aitor Ocio and you know that I feel a llittle somethg for Ath. Bilbao which is just impossible because of my family. My mother Ainara is from Anglet in the French Pays Basque but it's my father who brought us up. Same time, same place is just impossible for the two of them and my father just loathes everythg about the Pays Basque. Just to say that talking out loud about my soft spot for some of those guys = being disinherited, lol :)

    • cherryboomboom says:

et ben dis donc on commence a delirer !

  122. Black Rose says:

I’m a Barça lady, groupie, masseuse and lover, but I think Sergio Canales and Xabi Alonso are too beautiful for words…

  123. Mia says:

Gerard Piqué all the way, he's just ridiculously hot!

  124. Selena says:

Loved England from the last world cup and started to support Liverpool due to captain Gerrard. Then discovered little Xabi… and then started to support Spain. Unfortunately the little minx moved to madrid, and took my heart with him. Started to love Iker and Sergio, also realised how beautiful Kaka can be. Then noticed Carles Puyol's got the best six/twelve/twenty-four/pack of the lot, and Pique has the bluest eyes ever seen – became a fan of Barca. Always loved little Francesc, and one day realised Arsene Wenger must be the funniest manager on the planet – betrayed liverpool because my intense hatred for Joe Cole and start supporting Arsenal…

Oh, and I think Oezil is v.v.v. cute…..

  125. Kristina says:

a manchester united fan but love robin van persie! lol

    also my top faves are:

    yoann gourcuff–>who doesn't love lashes?

    cristiano ronaldo–>obviously he's in everyone's top picks

lukas podolski–>blonde haired blue eyed beauty

    steven gerrard–>i love his style

david beckham–>classic love, need i say more?

iker casillas–>some love for the keepers

    who's with me!!

    • manutd(L). says:

      mee!
      robin van persie, mmm(L)
      yoann(L)
      ronaldo is gorgeous!
      lukas podolski is sooo cute!
      iker!!!!!

  126. Emari says:

I was bittersweet throughout the entire Mexico-Spain friendly! I rooted for my team (Mexico) to win and all, but I love the Spain NT… thankfully Torres and Albiol weren't called, I don't think I would have been able to stay closeted for long. Oh Nando and Albiol… And Ramos…. And Xabi, Piqué, Cesc, Llorente… I swoon.

Coming from a Barca-supporting family… I lust after Madrid players. Yes I do.

  127. HiL says:

As a Man United fan i adore James Milner and i hate the fact that he’s in City now :(
And i love Gerrard. When he’s not scoring against us.

  128. VeNia says:

as a sworn BarcaGirl,i love everyone in the team but i have an attraction to a football player who plays for the worst rivals(for us)you can guess who!

so i will shout it with all my strength:I THINK SERGIO RAMOS IS AMAZING!

few!!glad to let that out!!thanks Kickette!!

    • xoWinnie says:

bless your soul for being honest.

as soon as he hits your radar it's hard to resist, i know ;)

      • VeNia says:

i just read the other comments and thank God i’m not alone!!!it’s really hard to resist!!guilty pleasure is always nice!!!!

  129. Ofeily9 says:

OK. It's confessions-time so I have to admit, I'm a Liverpool fan but..Chicharito joins ManU =/ He's so cute, so perfect, so awesome, so Mejicano!! Fernando Torres still my LOVE but, here comes Chicharito…

Niko and Sex, I cant make a choice. And I'm addicted to Gerard Piqué.

  130. xoWinnie says:

    hmmm…alright, let's see!

as a fan of Real Madrid, Arsenal AND Chelsea (yes, Arsenal AND Chelsea fan here, i'm obviously not English or a Londoner, haha), there are a few players i have grown to love on rival teams.

    Barça:

    - Bojan Krkic

    - Pique

    - Victor Valdes

    Man City:

    - Joe Hart

    Liverpool:

    - Joe Cole

    Atletico Madrid

    - Sergio "El Kun" Aguero

    Getafe:

    - Miguel Torres :( so sad that he's not at the Bernabeu anymore, but i guess he really was never that good anyways was he?)

although i don't really follow Calcio, i do have a soft spot for AC Milan over all the other Italian teams i despise, so i'll have to say:

    Inter Milan:

    - Wesley Sneidjer (i don't lust for him, but his years at Madrid made me love him as a player)

    • Lisa says:

lol wow that is a lot of forbidden lusting. Reminds me of a quote by WC Fields:

“I'm free of all prejudices. I hate everyone equally.”

  131. I enjoy looking at the pretty boys, for the most part, (unless they are total douches or play for Chelsea or Liverpool) but my footy heart belongs to only one, and has since 1993.

  132. ba says:

I have supported Portugal during the WC10 but when they're lost i didn't even care about this because of NT SPAIN…they're won the match and i feel enthusiastic cuz i could watch them in next matches as like i do! what a shame yeah but i can't do anything about this attraction on spaniards

  133. Amber C says:

I am a die hard Man Utd fan, always have, always will. Sidenote – nice to see many Red Devil supporters here. Anyway, I have 2 lust that I feel very guilty about. The first one came the week leading up to the '09 CL final. During the interviews of each team I could not help but think that Pep Guardiola was sexy. Then during the game, I wanted the TV cameras to pan over the the bench so I can see the manager in action. The second is Nando – I don't think I need to explain why – I love my devils, but I loathe LFC just as much.

  134. Emma says:

I am 100% cule [Barcelonista] however my love for my Spanish boys has me tied to Iker, Sergio, XABI….who play for Madrid.

Side note: I wonder if the atmosphere of El Clasico will change this year since Spain won the WC and it’s biggest players play for Barca & RM. I’m curious. Any of my Liga Ladies have any thoughts??

    • Rossanera says:

I know, right? There's been all this talk about how this team finally "unified" Spain. Should be interesting.

    • jecca says:

I have the opposite problem – I am a loyal Madridista, but how can I resist Víctor Valdés? Or newly-striped David Villa? I even have one of those weird Puyol crushes. And if and when Cesc finally makes it to Barça, I will be lost. I don't know if El Clásico will change for everyone, but I think my attitude towards Barcelona has softened since the WC.

      • caitanya says:

lol @ “weird puyol crush”! i feel that way a bit with messi. He is this shrimpy guy with a huge schnozz and bad teeth, but he’s so adorable!

      • Lou says:

hahaha when Cesc finally gets to Barca who will resist to be a culé xD

    • lulu says:

(Ok, so I’ll comment even though I’m not one of the Liga Ladies :$)
I seriously doubt that!!!!!!! In fact, I think it’s gonna be even worse, because the Barça boys are going to try to prove they didn’t need Ozil at all…
whatever happens, the hotness is going to burn down the TV screens

      • senora ramos says:

the only change will be more intense hatred imo. just ask the other barca ladies how they feel about jose. lol!
i mean the guys have been playing together and friends. all that changes when they’re on opposite sides of the pitch.

        • lulu says:

I honestly think Real Madrid has always been a great club, people either love it or hate it.
But now with TSO, things are gonna get serious, police escorts and all!
I really dislike Mourinho, but I think that only contributes to the excitement of the whole thing
Besides, it was getting boring already, Barça winning everything all the time… (hehe)
It’s time for a real challenge

          • lorena $Yoyo Gaga$ says:

Girls!!! I see that you are La Liga girls so I have a question and I will need some infos ASAP please !!! ( it's hottie alert!!! ) his name is Adrián González!!! He is gorgeous! I read today in Marca and As that he is new player of Racing…I googled him but there are very few infos/pictures…unforttunately :-(

    • Lisa says:

This year El Clasico will be no different to me. As a Barca fan, I have always had a begrudging respect for Real’s players, especially their veterans.

I was actually sad Raul and Guti were not able to be part of the WC winning team. Whether I hate them or not, The fact remains Real IS a successful football club.

the only person who will ruin any sentiment is one Mr Jose Mourinho. Just remembering him run around the Nou Camp pitch after Inter’s victory gets the blood boiling again easily.

You just know come El Clasico time, he will be up to his old tricks. You think he cares about Spain winning the World Cup? he is Portuguese, what does he care about mutual admiration.

    • mel says:

im a 100% blaugrana fan too but who can resist to sergio and xabi?
well, as for the clasico part, i believe a rivalty is a rivalty and it is going on for so many years, so i dont i think that anything at all will change both for me and the other supporters (as for the players, some of them were friends even before the world cup but this didnt smooth the tense of the clasico days..)

  135. Carviv says:

I am an AC Milan fan but have always had a crush on Inter’s Javier Zanetti. His strong jawline gives my knees the wobblies.

    • Lisa says:

You are so right! I go into NYC Little Italy for EVERY rossonero match but if I had to pick a Nerazzurri, it’d be Zanetti!

NY is weird since the league is still developing. Fans are “told” we have rivalries with DC, New England, LA, etc. So if I had to pick from these opponents, I’d pick Pontius from DC. The other 2 teams need to work on their YUM factors. Buddle can’t carry a team and Goldenballs is getting, well, deflated?…wrinkly?…yikes.

  136. DJ says:

so my two football loves are cesc and cristiano, both of whom play for the teams which i support and they’re one of the main reasons i started supporting arsenal and madrid. i do however have a huge thing for pique and villa, they’re so HOT! im pretty much indifferent to everyone else from the Premier League. i know torres has his fans, but he does nothing for me.

  137. zztop says:

as a global citizen with no home team, the only shame I feel is that I am leching at teenagers, or recent teenagers.

Speaking of which , has anyone else noticed the hotness that is Sevilla’s Diego Perotti? I know Navas gets all the Sevillista love but for my money Perotti’s the hotter one. And apparently goes to Uni too, so at least he can read.

as a global citizen with no home team, the only shame I feel is that I am leching at teenagers, or recent teenagers.

sigh…same here…I'm definitely in cougar territory…still hotness knows no age limits!

  138. Leya says:

    Chicharito and Sergio Ramos…

I’m not a die-hard fan anywhere, but its always been hard for me to support the “always-winners” teams, like Man U. and Real Madrid. The point is, these two teams, to me, have never been my faves (I’m more of an Arsenal and Barcelona supporter to be honest), but I just LOVE Javier and Sergi…love them….LOVE THEM.

    • Gunners Girl says:

Couldn't agree more, I'm an Arsenal girl (thank god we didn't lose the luscious fabregas) and being English, I find it really hard not to support some sort of underdog but Man U and RM sure know how to pick them- Ramos, Xavi, Casillas, Evra, Chicharito…. Needless to mention my guilty pleasure Pepe Reina (Arsenal-Liverpool was a really tough match to watch last week! ) Now if only Mr Wenger had a big enough budget…

Don't think theres anything wrong with this… I certainly am taking far more out of the (very) beautiful game by supporting all these players than most of my male friends!

  139. Julia D says:

I don’t find this to be a conflict for me. I lust far & wide, never felt any need to limit it. My main loyalty is the Spanish NT (16 years, finally 2 happy years!), along with Inter & RM. But attraction doesn’t mean I necessarily want those players’ teams to win; in fact if there is a mild injury the lusting is all the better…..knees up boys!

Bless you for this post! A male friend of mine who grew up in Manchester was just telling me how ill-advised it would be for me (Real Madrid and Liverpool) to advertise the fact that I have love for several Barca players and am incapable of wishing a bad game on Tim Howard.

I think it’s fun to have rivalries in a scream your head off for your team jokingly poke fun at friends who support opposing teams kind of way. But unless an opposing player or fan does something really offensive, I never let rivalries get to me.

    • gin_in_teacups says:

Oh and it's not a crush thing, it's an NT thing. Spain and USMNT have my undying love, and I can't shut that down just because someone plays for a rival club.

    • Laura says:

Hahaha you're me almost exactly! Same teams, same crushes. Love Tim Howard. :D And I feel the same way about rivalries.

      • gin_in_teacups says:

Yay! I love sharing the love :-)

      • DebS says:

Same here! I guess if football were more popular in my area, I would “get” the rivalries more. Not having the opportunities to watch La Liga matches except on a VERY rare occasion here in the States (although I can watch the World Championship of Poker on any given day on ESPN…sigh), I didn’t realize how much rivalry (hatred?) there is between Barca and RM until just recently.

I just signed up for Fox Soccer Channel and Gol TV. Been watching any and all, Barca and/or RM matches although they are mostly from last season. :D

    • Goosie says:

So I’ve arbitrarly decided to like Liverpool (my uncle is huge Man U fan and I love antagonizing him)…but before making this decision, I fell in love with Tim Howard. So when I found out that Liverpool and Everton are big rivals, I was really sad. Because I do love me some Tim Howard. A lot. So yeah, we’re in the same boat.

  141. Kyra says:

I really don't have a problem…I feel no shame in loving Villa and Iker at the same time. I just hope the rivalry between their two teams doesn't affect their relationship (real or imagined)! Anyway, since I'm from New Jersey and have no strong ties to any team, I'll support the one that my fickle heart prefers at the moment. :P

    • DebS says:

You know…that’s the one thing that I absolutely love about guys in general. They can be arch rivals on the field and go back to being good friends once they leave the pitch.

      Although I was surpised to learn that Xavi Hernandez said that winning La Liga with Barca meant more to him than winning the WC. Hopefully, that was taken out of context. :{

  142. TigerLili says:

i love my Mexico NT and my soccer boys to death and will support them all the way in good & bad but i will confess that spain's national team has a special place in my heart & somewhere in the middle of the world cup i was full blown supporting spain…& as much as i love real madrid Pique, Victor Valdes, Xavi, Villa & Pedro give me butterflies…& Puyol, but only when he takes off his shirt lol

  143. Madenaaa says:

I swoon over Gerard Pique! Bojan, Fernando, and Cesc are too adorable!

I need to pick myself a Spaniard for keeps (:

  144. miss toffee says:

i’m a toffee with immense love for nando and reina! gotta love the spanish nt, whichever club they play for!

  145. azezah says:

being a lpool supporter, i once lusted after nimanja vidic. but now i'm totally over him.

  146. blitzen says:

And I’m a cule, so I have the opposite–Xabi Alonso broke my heart when he moved to Real Madrid, but I love him still. Visca Barca….and Xabi too!

  147. WagInTraining says:

    the whole bundesliga. OHLALALALA.

  148. PepaCandela says:

I will admit it. Barca girl here with the ultimate betrayal crush…on Luis Figo. There, I said it.

    • Lisa says:

Kickette we have a winner. As a Culé, there isn’t enough booze in the world to make me lust after Figo again. Too painful.

      • zztop says:

Agree, I challenge anyone else to come up with a more neurosis inducing conflict of interest.

        • ayza says:

I’m not a culé but this one is reaally harsh. Really takes a good heart to carry on. but the guy is hot i can give you that

      • PepaCandela says:

I did say ultimate, right? It makes my head hurt. To make matters worse I can't stand Inter either.

        We're like Romeo & Juliet.

    • Bri says:

You are not alone! Barca girl but Portuguese national…completely in love with Luis. You know there should really be something like AA for us girls feeling the fuzzies towards the enemy…I not so secretly watch madrid games to catch a glimpse of Iker and the Ramos…not to mention Higuain.

    • senora ramos says:

omg, even as a madridista, i feel for you. that is a huge one. wow. i'll pray for your soul ;) and pass the tequila to numb the pain.

    • Emma says:

OMG you win, that is the ultimate. I cannot forgive the Figo. bless your cule soul, at least you were brave enough to say it lol

      • PepaCandela says:

oh, nobody said anything about forgiveness! I just admire the pretty and seethe inwardly, hence the conflict. Does someone make a pill for this?

  149. Liv says:

Father Kickette it's been a long time since my last confession; As a Manchester united supporter i drool and appreciate the wonder that is Roque santa Cruz, however since Manchester city is going to be less pretty this season without him i can drol & appreciate guilt free! That is my only sin in the epl, as for spain & france God help me the list is too long!

  150. ayza says:

i'm a GALATASARAY fan, to my bones, my blood runs in red and yellow in my veins. But fenerbahçe's diego lugano… Oh boy! I don't like him as a person, i guess fenerbahçe is a huge turn off for me, i truly dislike their players. but lugano…

Other than that i also have that NT problem. I do feel guilty cuz i love Turkey, i'd die for my country i really would, but the Spain NT is literally turning my head around! It's this way since Euro 08 and i sadly im sure that i wouldn't be feeling so much bad if Spain wins when it's a Turkey vs Spain game. I mean a part of me would be happy.

Im not spanish nor catalan whatsoever at all but im also a huge barça fan i ADOORE barça, just as well i adore Xabi, Iker and Kaka :D

Actually nothing makes me feel guilty but the NT situation. There's nothing wrong with having hots for a rival's players. As long as you start to change your feelings about that team. They are cute and hot what you gonna do?

    • florence says:

omg, i’m a Galatasaray supporter too and yes Lugano kills me every game that he plays. That’s the truth. He’s so adorable. And now we’ve got a bigger problem, Guti! Beşiktaş shot me from my heart when they brought him to Turkey and made him biggg signing ceremony! But thank god we got Harry Kewell & Lucas Neill & Milan Baros. But we need more Aussies, actually we need Tim Cahill immediately!!

  151. MadridistaJenn says:

I'll admit I'm a closeted Barça freak/cyber stalker. Ibra, Pique, Puyol, Hernandez, Villa, baby Bojan, Valdes, even Pep! I'd also have to through in Cescy, Llorente, and "Gooch" Onyewu's body. If the team had a shirtless car wash, I would roll my car through a swamp, until I could barely see out of the windows. Of course I would have to go incognito (all black, everything), so I wouldn't be disowned as a madridista. When the el clásico takes place, I just pretend the Barça boys are trolls (its difficult).

Wow, that was oddly cathartic, thanks Kickette!

  152. eileen says:

    I'm a livrerpool fan,but I must admit..

    ILOVEROBINVANPERSIE!

    Haa..I feel better now :)

    Also:

    Frank Lampard

    Xabi Alonso

    Iker Casillas

    x

  153. GraceGibson says:

Bayern Munich di-hard fan, nothing beats stronger than my love for that club! Seeing Inter beating my hometown in the CL final this year broke my heart… but hell, there was Figo after all *even just on the bench* and Zanetti *who is awesome!* and not to forget Wesley… damn it still hurt.

  154. Kat says:

I'm a die-hard Barca fan but I love Jose Mourinho like no other. I feel so dirty, but there it is. The man is awesome.

    • Lisa says:

mmmm Mourinho. He is a fine, mad-scientist, silver fox.

      • Lisa says:

Hey look its Bizarro-Me. Are you a Madridista? I can see how it can be easy to like Jose if you are not a Barca fan. If you support Barca there is no lust whatsoever, the man is Satan himself. Then again, the Devil is… devilishly handsome.

        • Lisa(that lusts after Mourinho) says:

Hi. sorry, no I only follow La Liga for the short tents. Ha! I’m in NY so I only appreciate European leagues from bars. Otherwise, I just have my American League (MLS) to keep me warm.

          • Rossanera says:

Get GolTV. It's what makes living in Chi-town bearable. They're very devoted to La Liga, FSC only picks up the EPL. Seriously, it'll only set yiu back like 15$ a month.

    • mamaly says:

      Why dirty, he is awesome.

    • Lisa says:

you like Jose after all the hell he has put our club through? The world has gone mad.

      • Sara says:

This is a confession place. You're not supposed to judge. Talk about missing the point…

        • Lisa says:

forget the past. the man is going to drive us Culés mad with rage in the next four years. oh well, whatever floats your boat.

  155. jacks says:

I'm an Arsenal supporter, but I like Tappas (Pique, Ramos, Alonso). In the older man's group there is Roy Keane and Zenadine Zidane!

  156. reggaeballgirl says:

I'm Jamaican and I love Barcelona …but..Ramos, Xabi, Iker, Canales and company make for really pleasant dreams.

  157. kate says:

Boy oh boy are these Spaniards melting away our footy ladies!!! Can't blame fellow kickettes…I'm a Chelsea AND Barca fan 100%. I drool over David Villa and will continue to drool now that he's finally a Barca player! Villa Villa Maravilla!!

P.S. Sergio Ramos, Pique and Benny Feilhaber are next in line…though, I don't watch the MLS, Benny in the World Cup was total hotness!

    ~~

    • Black Rose says:

oh, Benny, he’s to die for…

      • kate says:

yeeeaa gurl, I’m like dead…I’ll start watching the MLS just for Benny (and that’s not how I support a team, but he’s the exception to the rule).

  158. Alisha says:

I'm an Arsenal fan and I like loads of rivals players like Torres but seeing as Spurs are our main rivals mine would have to be Gareth Bale ;)

    • cherryboomboom says:

      GARETH BALE ! <3

      • LuvinBale says:

Whoa Nelly!! Do I love me some Gareth Bale!!! I mean he is just a top
        notch player and so hawt!
But that being said- Torres gives me the feelings like no
other can. I also put Stevie G and Vidic in that category. Oh and all
Of the Spanish NT in there too.
Each player gives me a different warm and fuzzy- like a different player for everyday of the week. Someone should put the players faces on underpants so you can wear your fave player everyday of the week and have them close to you where ever you go.
Sorry that was a bit off topic

        • Minnie says:

I think that's a wonderful IDEA however, the problem is that I have too many favourtie players, they won't fit in 1 week.

          • LuvinBale says:

Agreed- the Spanish NT and some of the German NT boys alone make that difficult. I say do a month of underpants! Maybe a picture on the front and the back. You'll never be without your favourite footballer again!!!

        • DebS says:

Someone should put the players faces on underpants so you can wear your fave player everyday of the week and have them close to you where ever you go.

Hilarious! So true but I might have a hard time limiting it to 7…maybe one for each day of the month?! :D

  159. cherryboomboom says:

niko Niko Niko niko Niko Niko !!!!!!!

    Waaaaaah sexyness !!!

Anyway I'm a man Utd fan , and oh boy do I have a huge crush on stevie G .. :S

  160. Venice says:

Mmmm…. Never mind me, I'm only here for Niko :-D

  161. I'll be forever bleeding Red, but I can't help a massive crush on Mikel Arteta.

  162. Sarah says:

I'm a Chelsea supporter, but love me some Nando…I was really hoping Chelsea would snag him away this summer and I wouldn't have to feel so conflicted anymore, but oh well :( More lusting from afar

    • gin_in_teacups says:

If Nando ever does end up going to Chelsea I'll have the opposite problem you currently have. Though I think it's worse when a player formerly on your team goes to a rival, than if they just happened to be on an opposing team in the first place.

      • Sarah says:

True–that's definitely worse. Love for Nando crosses all borders though! Thankfully I have Lamps here at Chelsea to keep me happy :)

  163. Liz says:

MLS: I'm a Chivas USA fan but hot damn the Galaxy guys are hot!

Spain: Real Madrid all the way but Pique & Pep are so sexy!

  164. Not Revealing My Tru says:

I'm a die-hard United fan and I've got to say, as much as I hate Captain Arse VEST Steven Gerrard, I find him GORGEOUS.

There, I've said it. Shite. Someone give me a Scotch!

    • Dee says:

      *hands over the Scotch*

I'll take all simple drink orders…

    • Not Revealing My Tru says:

Dee, thank you! Really and seriously. I can't believe I have actually gone public with this…thank goodness none of you know who I actually am with my clever little alias, hehheee! :p

lulu, I've seen the video and even that didn't turn me off to him. Dear LORD…he has the Scouse accent to ruin him, and everything. What is my pro-blemo?

      • lulu says:

Yay, congrats then! You're in the duckie truck lol ^^

      • Dee says:

No shame in it. I've admitted I flove an angry bearded man on my Facebook page so many times my closest friends all are like "Dee, you realize he'd pillage you." Only the ones who know me best know I wouldn't mind.

    • lulu says:

LOL!!!!!!! Have you seen that video (hot, beardless Xabi is next to him) where he slips in the middle of an interview???
that’ll be a good test for your Stevie G love
If you still love him after this, then it’s true footy love!
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7H7TgdtzXQM

      • DebS says:

Poor Stevie…lol "I hope that's not on the tele" worse yet Stevie…it's on the net! :D

        This was the first time I saw Xabi without the beard. Like him much better without it. :}

  165. lorena $Yoyo Gaga$ says:

Ohhh yes!!! Confessions time-let me start….

First may I say i am true Man.Utd fan, and yes Liverpool is our #1 enemy ( i still don"t consider city as our worth rival :-) ) but…

    NANDOOOOOOOOO!!!

    SEXy Fabregas!!!!

    WALCOTT!!!

They are making it sooo hard!!!

And one more thing girls- when it comes to La Liga I too support Barcelona so I just want to say this about Real_SIN_City_Madrid…IT NOT ARE FAULT!!!

    It's those bloody white kits…When CRon,Kaka,Ramos& company put them…on their bodies…c'moooon!

Girls just wanna have fun!!! :-D

  166. Little Miss Arsenal says:

I'm a Gooner 1000% but i have a thing for Chicharito Hernandez & Gerard Pique

    • Little Miss Arsenal says:

Oh yea! & for Spanish sides, I support Atletico but….*sigh* i'm obsessed with Gonzalo Higuain & Sergi Canales

  167. cescyspain says:

i support chelsea but i have a HUGE crush on cesc. and he really is working the tan in that pic! he's just so charming, i love his interviews and am amazed by his skill :)

  168. Vida says:

i am 100% Werder Bremen, I love them til i stop breathing. as my best mate's a huge liverpool supporter, i started hating real madrid for buying xabi alonso. when they bought mesut özil, i thought i had to go to mourinho and punch his face a thousand times. now i hate real even more, but i'm highly in love with the ramos. i can live with that. he's pure sex…

and werder will always be no. 1!!!

    • cymraeg_ddraig says:

Is that hot Swede Rosenberg still with your team? I say hot…I havent seen him for a few years….he may not be hot anymore! I do love a Scandinavian man though….tall…..blond…mmmm is that weird?!

  169. Allyra says:

There's nothing wrong about having crushes on the rivals… It doesn't make me love my team any less :) Hot "enemies" on (or even off) the pitch are always a nice bonus :P

  170. Rossanera says:

I have quite a few of these. First and foremost, it has always pained me that Del Piero plays for Juventus. And then CANNAVARO. First Inter (I'm a Milan fan), then Juventus, and then Real? Those choices all KILLED me. But I'd have to say my biggest inner conflict is that I'm a Barcelista … and the Blancos lay claim to the Ramos, Iker, Xabi, Albiol … need I go on?

  171. Berbie's Barbie says:

I've always loved Man United and no doubt, will love them forever. But during the world cup, i went into a Spain NT full lusting mode and boy, did i feel so damn guilty once it was all over. The La Roja lust/love is still lurking somewhere inside but now I'm back to dedicating 110% of my support to the one team that matters, My lovely Red Devils.

    ….until June of 2014.

    Damn you Ramos. *Sighs*

  172. Rani says:

I'm a Chelsea girl 100% (besides, the husband just may divorce me if I'm not…lol),but boy do I love my Nando! I've kind of, sort of been wanting to get a *coughliverpoolcough* jersey with his number but…the husband FORBIDS it. There will be NO RED worn in our house!

    • ayza says:

lol! I'd be the same as your husband but i doubt that my future husband would want to buy a rivals jersey cuz he's hot, i mean i hope he wouldnt :D

  173. Laura says:

I have a lot of these. When they're playing, I know who I'm rooting for (although I can be happy if one of the players I like scores – Edson Buddle with the LA Galaxy or Chicharito with Man Utd).

My biggest forbidden love, though, is my massive crush on Pep Guardiola. As a madridista. D: That's gotta be even worse than any crush on a particular player!!

  174. lulu says:

I'm a total footy ho, so I won't even say what team I support

    • lulu says:

(and I sent the comment without even finishing)
I just wanted to say that to me, my forbidden footie lust is the Spanish NT, since my heart belongs to Italy.
So, yeah, this World Cup was terrible and amazing at the same time.

      • Dee says:

While I didn't have hardcore Roja lust, I do feel your pain about this WC.

        • lulu says:

Aw, thanks…! People make fun of me because I supported Italy, and it got even worse when they were disqualified, but I don't care!

I just wish Lippi had taken Borriello, maybe I wouldn't have paid attention to Ramos, Nando or Piqué and now I wouldn't have to hide any crushes!

          • Dee says:

Yeah…Lippi. I've bitched and moaned about his choices to everyone who would have listened. Borriello would have been an improvement over Gilardino and Iaquinta who at country level have a hard time handling pressure.

            • lulu says:

Yea but now that there’s no more Lippi (total DILF, mind you), and not really much more of the 06 squad, we aren’t winning either! It might take a while before we see any improvement, but I really really really want Italy to come back from the dead! :( I don’t want to see no more sad Italian faces (remember Quagliarella?)

              • Dee says:

I know…but I have faith Italy will turn in around. Yes, I remember Quags [can never pronounce his name right!]. I also remembered seeing dejected Canna and DDR and my little heart broke into millions of pieces. I can handle DDR’s angry face a hell of a lot better.

                • lulu says:

Oh, I know!!!! DDR is such a tough guy… watching him and Canna break down was really hard. I cried a lot when the game was over…

But yes, we'll rise again!!!!! FORZA AZZURRI!

BTW do you think Gigi Buffon will play for the Euros???

                  • Dee says:

I think Gigi will and if my dad is to be believed, he would captain the team.

                    • Rossanera says:

I had heard that this was to be his last call on international duty and that he'd reconsidered b/c he barely played. (Side note: other heartbreak- watching Gigi and Ringhio's faces of disbelief during that Slovakia game, knowing that they felt so helpless on the bench. Hmmm. Gattuso.) BUT I don't think Gigi will captain the squad b/c if he does go to Euros, it will likely be his last tournament. I think the honour will go to one of the younger players. If I had to pick I'd put my money on De Rossi.

Honestly, though, other than Gigi and Ringhio, I can't think of a player worthy of being a successor to Maldini and Cannavaro. It hurts my heart. I don't recognize my team anymore.

                    • Dee says:

Don't get me wrong…I want De Rossi to be captain. My dad thinks it should be Pirlo or Gigi based on caps though. I think DDR has the passion and drive to be to Italy what Messier was to the 1994 NY Rangers. [Yeah I mix my sports oops].

                • Rossanera says:

It broke my heart to see Il Capitano end his international career in such disgrace. But I too have faith that we will rebuild, like a phoenix rises from the ashes. FORZA AZZURRI. VIVA ITALIA.

              • zahara says:

when italy went out of the WC (after losing to slovakia i think) at the end of the match when quagliarella (i think) sobbed on the grass and when canna picked him up and let him cry on his shoulders and gave him a hug, i started to cry (it was very emotional and i wanted italy to go much further) and i didnt stop for like 15 mins (after cursing that stupid ref and lippi)..even now i vividly remember that scene. god, that was a bad day

            • Rossanera says:

You and every single member of the Italian populace, sister.

              • lulu says:

                (replying to your comment above…)
I don’t recognize the team anymore either… Now i’m seriously concerned about the goalie situation, if gigi’s not playing.. marchetti was a bunch of nerves..
But I’m azzurra till death!! Let’s hope Prandelli gets it right in time for the euros :)

        • Rossanera says:

Or what Saku Koivu was to the Habs before he was brutally ripped away from Montreal (but never our hearts! SAKU FOREVER!)

Don't worry … my love of gli Azzurri is matched only by my love of the Habs.

          • Dee says:

            I remember Saku!

            • Rossanera says:

… and I remember the Moose! He stole Lord Stanley from us and we have never gotten him back!

God, I love Kickette. Without it, I'd be reading 62 pages worth of constitutional law and criminal procedure right now.

          • Figy says:

Oh my goodness. I’ll have to check out this Azzurri guy if he is as meaningful as Koivu. It destroys my heart to see him in an Anaheim uniform. Whoever Montreal chooses, Saku will always be my captain.

            • Rossanera says:

LOL "gli Azzurri" is the nickname for the Italian national team. Figy, are you from Montreal?

              • Figy says:

Haha, oh man I just showed my colors, I guess. I'm not from Montreal. I'm from Seattle actually and Montreal is my adopted team who I love in the east along with Vancouver in the west since they are the closest I have to a home team.

                • Rossanera says:

REALLY? I have never met a Habs fan who wasn't from Montreal. This is very exciting to me. FYI, Roberto Luongo (I am sure you know who that is if Vancouver is your team) is actually from Montreal … he's Italo-Canadese as well, just like meeee, grew up down the street from my aunt and uncle.

  175. Jo says:

Thankfully, I've had no such conflicts. Once Roque started wearing sky blue, his attraction waned. It was never true footy love. :D

  176. Dee says:

I actually really don't for football. I've have my team I'm rooting for and the only other player I truly lust after is in another league. Total win.

But in my hockey years…oh yeah. I had big time rival crushes. The sad part of being a fan for so long though…all my favorites have retired and all the current rosters turn me into a cougar…puma…or whatever cat of the day it is.

    • gin_in_teacups says:

"That's what I love about these [football players] man. I get older, they stay the same age."

Right now most of the players I like are my age, maybe 2 or 3 years younger. Not a big deal. But I know I'm Cougartown bound eventually. And I don't care :-)

      • Dee says:

Well out of my 2 lust boys I'm 2 years older than one and 6 years older than the second. Not too bad. But I cannot look at the NY Rangers roster without saying 1988, WTF??

      • Nandoschiquita says:

As the mayor of Cougartown, I just want you to know that you will be welcomed with open arms when the time comes.

Also, please don't forget about the "half your age plus 7 rule". It's not icky if the object of your desire is at least half your age plus 7. Unfortunatly that rule's not working for me any more… perhaps some of my fellow Cougartown ladies need to amend that rule.

        • Dee says:

Well, my 33rd birthday is Monday and my cougarish lust object is DDR. So if any kickette wants to send me DDR jumping out of a cake, I'm all for embracing my age.

        • gin_in_teacups says:

When I get to Courgartown I hope someone from the welcoming committee will be there with cake and mimosas :-)

Half + 7 works sometimes works out well, but in my case that means the guy wouldn’t be of legal drinking age in the States yet, so that doesn’t quite work for me either. So screw half + 7. My requirements are cute and legal to drink.

          • Nandoschiquita says:

Ha, yeah, that's just wrong. It only works for old folks like me. Another way to do it is to take his age and double it, then subtract 7. If you are over this age then you are too old for him. Screw it. As long as they're legal, it's all good.

          • Dee says:

Welcome me with cheesecake and Grey Goose and cranberry.

    • Dee says:

Obviously my footie lust has spread so much it’s taken over the spelling & grammar part of my brain.Crap.

      • Dee says:

I guess I should actually *list* my teams…sorry.

US Men's national team, Italian national team and AS Roma[this is a newer development thanks to my #1 enabler Tina]. Although if the US plays Italy, I find that I'm a truly sucky American. Sorry guys.

  177. Arsenal says:

I am an Arsenal supporter and will always be one till i die. I have 5. I am madly in love with Cesc Fabregas, Robin van Persie, Yoann Gourcuff, Cristiano Ronaldo and Fernando Torres.

I saw all of these players for the 2010 Fifa WC!!! Totaly super.

PS: Does anyone have a fan adress to the arsenal side?

  178. senora ramos says:

sigh…i have 2. kun from atletico and now david villa for barca. they make this madridista feel shameful for having such lust for such enemies.

    • senora ramos says:

let me qualify though, i NEVER cheer for them (well won't in david's case) in league play. in fact, i have no shame in admiting that i would love nothing more than both teams to lose every match and get relegated. i also hope david forgets how to score until qualifications for euros :D

      • senora ramos says:

eta: this is only club right? b/c i know you girls know my nt crush and they are probably worse rivals than barca and atletico to rm b/c i am all about country over club :D

        • Rossanera says:

I don't ! Please share! I'm curious! Because if we are going to talk national treason … my father and brother were ready to lynch me during Euro 2008 b/c of my love of all the Roja boys (we're Italian).

          • senora ramos says:

lol! i'm from the us. i'm in love with memo ochoa from mexico. lol! i'd NEVER tell that to any of the guys i watch the matches with!! they'd blacklist me for sure.

            • Rossanera says:

You think THAT's bad? Try being a Canadian* studying in the US during this year's Olympics. I had to watch the hockey game in my apartment by myself b/c I legit feared for my life. And then I had days' worth of hate messages on my FB wall.

              * because that contradicts with my earlier post, my parents left Italy (sad), so I grew up in Canada, but I'm Italian at heart.

            • Lisa says:

blacklist you for liking a Mexican player? good lord, who do you watch the matches with? The Minuteman Project??!

              • LoveFootballLoveFootballPlayers says:

Okay I totally get the love for Ochoa, I myself love him too not only because he’s a great goalie but he is super talented and will be the only guy I like with long curly hair and that smile that kills me and on the plus side he plays for my love America…. But Lisa’s comment had me cracking up not taking it too seriously though of course. I hope whomever you watch the matches with and Memo is the goalie they won’t lynch you if he happens to be his awesome self… I forgot to say this earlier but Kickette I LOVE this post so much. And to all the ladies thank you for all the wonderful comments since it reminded me of other hot men like Zanetti who I saw as a commentator for mexican tv during the WC and had me literally with my mouth open while he talked.

              • senora ramos says:

lol! the guys i watch with are what we call "ameritards." lol! you can't like mexico b/c they are our bitter rival (a large part of the extreme hatred stems from the time we played in azteca after 9/11). they don't hate the country, or the people, or anything, just the national team. i got enough heat just stating that i thought ochoa was an amazing keeper (b/c he is!). lol! they grudgingly admire about 3 players. and one i think is b/c many are arsenal fans and you can't not like vela! lol!

            • DebS says:

OMG Senora Ramos…were we separated at birth?! I LOVE Ochoa and Blanco (for obviously other reasons ;) ) but my fav is still The Ramos.

As much as I love my beloved Chicago Fire, I'd much rather watch European football because it is so beautiful to watch (the game and the ballers). I definitely was pulling for the USMT but deep down in my heart I knew that there's no way they would have beaten some of the higher ranked teams. Yes, we beat Spain in the Confederate Cup but….we just didn't have the fire power that we did back then (or maybe we just didn't play as well in the WC?).

Anywho…I'm more of a player type person than any specific club team. Ramos, Torres, Iker, Forlan, Ronaldo, Frankie, Stevie, Conde, Blanco, Ochoa…well you get my drift :)

Sadly, I'm usually watching the matches by myself so there's no drama regardless of who I'm cheering for. :

        • gin_in_teacups says:

I'm also country over club, just not my own country. Love my USMNT but against Spain, sorry boys. I'll always want La Roja to take you down :-)

Dumb story but before the final I was looking for a big Spain flag and couldn't find one. I ended up calling a flag company and guy on the phone was like "you're rooting for the wrong team. We're all sold out of Netherlands but have plenty of Spain left." They had to FedEx the flag to me, and it came with a personalized note: "Go Holland." Hahahaha – is all I have to say about that!

          • senora ramos says:

i could NEVER cheer for anyone over my USMNT. i love Espana, but they are def the 2nd team in that relationship. I was one happy duck when we beat them in the Confeds Cup.

            • loveu2much says:

u said it perfectly i am a full on united states fan and would never dream of supporting another team over them. i mean spain is a great team in their own right but sorry they will have to come second for me.

            • gin_in_teacups says:

I plead Spanish ancestry as my excuse. In my mind that makes it like I’m still sort of supporting my country, but not really – haha :-) In reality I just couldn’t help loving them, and if that group of boys were exactly the same except they came from a different country, I’d still support them. USMNT is second in my heart though.

          • Rossanera says:

            Ahahahaha love it.

            • gin_in_teacups says:

If we’d lost I’d have been FURIOUS. But we didn’t so it was just funny. Also, your love of La Roja doesn’t make you a bad Italy fan. It means you are a woman blessed with eyes and common sense.

              • Dee says:

                Eyes, common sense and pheromones.

                • Rossanera says:

I justify it in reference to the fact that my mother’s maternal family was from originally from ESPANA ! And from Andalusia, natch – hence the love of the Ramos. Interesting side note: whenever we are in Italy, the locals take me for a Spaniard … I don’t look like the rest of my family. I look like Mommy’s side.

          • Lisa says:

It used to be the case that when you asked any football fan who their favorite and second favorite NT was, Brazil would always be one of the answers.

Present company included. Brazil are the reason I started watching football. Not so much these days (especially after the last two World Cups).

I think Spain have taken over as every neutral’s favorite team. All their players are hot and they happen to be pretty useful on the pitch as well.

          • zahara says:

lol!before the final i wanted a spain shirt but they were out of stock so i got a white shirt and i painted the spain flag colours on the front and the names of all the Roja players on the back…that is how much i support espana, my number 1 team since about 2007 and forever more :)

  179. C16 says:
