Dates for the Diary: August 29
Looking for something to do on the 29th of August?
If you’re in the States, you may want to strap on your best designer wedges and wiggle your way to the cinema. The footie player packed Goal II – Living The Dream is coming to US-shores and there are numerous reasons why you should be watching: David Beckham, Raul, The Ramos, Robinho, Thierry Henry and Zizou all make appearances in the film as themselves.
The standout performance, shockingly without recognition from the Academy Awards or BAFTAs, is the one milisecond-long clip of Iker Casillas in a hot tub (around 5.35 in). We’re not quite sure what the point of it is exactly, but, you know, he’s in a hot tub. So give him an Oscar, already!
Of course, Goal II has been out on DVD everywhere else in the world for over a year, but judging by the amount of readers who emailed us about hot-tub-Iker, we’re thinking there may be some long queues at the theatres this month. Best bring your best shin-kickers and get practicing your side-eyes, gals.
Kickettes in the UK looking for something to get up to? Victoria Beckham will be at Harvey Nichols in Manchester from 11.00- 13.00. She’ll be signing bottles of the new Beckham Signature fragrances For Him and For Her. Head on over and say hello.
FYI, we’ve smelled the Signature for women and it’s actually very nice. Alas, we’re unlikely to make it our signature scent. We’re still holding out for a bottle of Imperial Majesty by Clive Christian.
