David Villa: Mister Manners
This is probably one of the most random videos a club has taken the time to make about a player. The FC Barcelona digital department must get bored during international breaks, since practically the entire squad is called up for various national teams, so we can hardly blame them for focusing on Daveed and his mannerisms.
While they point out the obvious – that he’s fashionable and a team player – they also call attention to the lesser known tidbits about Daveeed. Ya know, all the things that him make their resident ‘Mister Manners’:
- He’s brutally on-time for his interview duties
- He respectfully doesn’t celebrate goals against teams he’s played for (1:00)
- During pressers, he waits until the press officer finishes speaking before getting up (1:30)
Lastly, he keeps his keys from jingling, which is really thoughtful. If any other club digital department is bored, may we suggest a compilation of best shirt removal moments or man-love celebrations?

I can say he's quite polite when you ask him for a picture (and more shy than I thought)
<3<3<3
Personally, I take manners as something VERY important in why I respect certain players or not.
Nevertheless, there has to be a reason why Barcelona would make a video like that for him, obviously, his manners have been questioned as of late and this still doesn't mark him as someone to respect for me.
This looks like simple PR work for a tainted image. Nothing more.
I really don't understand why I would get thumbed down by stating fact. I didn't attack his character or call him names just simply stated that there had to be a reason why this video is such an anomaly. Obviously it is a PR stunt, to deny it is deluded.
Sigh. Its not hard to admit it when your favorite footballer does wrong, it doesn't mean you hate them it means you care enough to want them to be better people personally as well as professionally. Grow up kids.
Yes, he was also Mr. Manners when he slapped Mesut Ozil. Tsk tsk…
Maybe he just really loves to slap RM players! Just like Mourinho loves to mess with Barça's heads hahaha They were all immature and …. not thinking clearly ..
I agree! he also has a lot of good manners when diving…
Of all the Barca players that might be accused of diving (Busi, Dani, et al), Villa is definitely not one of them. Hot-headed at times, yes, but diving, no.
I'm surprised by this, coz I've heard he is very strong-tempered! LOL
I like ballers with manners, but I'm afraid some of them just fake them. How do we know if he's really like this in his home? I like manners, but I prefer people being themselves.
"He respectfully doesn’t celebrate goals against teams he’s played for" er…have you heard that Adebayor?
Wonky-eyed troll strikes *gasp* yet again! No te cansas de lo mismo siempre? Aren't you tired of being as annoying as you are?
yo solo doy mi opinion, si no te gusta, mira para otro lado! alright?
I can always count on you, Agnes, to come up with the most rubbish comments
l don't give a damn! I give my opinion, if you don't like it, it's up to you!
He's lovely. His punctuality is hilarious, I remember him arriving even before time in an event in Valencia. He tends to be the 1st one in NT's meetings
Now I finally figured out why he's constantly caught off-side!! He's too damn punctual, he runs too early for the pass! If this isn't a eureka moment, I don't know what is.
In Spain players rarely celebrate against their old clubs…I like it, it is out of respect!
I still want know what is that happened to Villa's Gel!
Knowing that he's punctual makes me love him even more. <3
One more reason to love him
He's so damn cute, just wanna hug him!! [a lot]
'He respectfully doesn’t celebrate goals against teams he’s played for (1:00)' — one of the best gestures any player can have, it's like cycling, one of the reasons it's a unique sport is the fact everyone in the peloton follows a sportsmanship code of honor

AHAHAHA at the part where everyone jumps off the bench to go celebrate and he just kinda pretends like he's going and then hops back.
but yeah, not celebrating against teams that you played for is a good rule. More players should do that.
I saw that part and I also noticed a very long "junk" grab/fondle. Anyone else notice this?
Sorry I know its completely off topic of manners (obvs I have none for noticing such a thing) but I had to add that.
He's a lovely man, really, really lovely.
I love this! Manners are important. It doesn't matter how good looking you are, if you're a self-centered, inattentive snob you're just not that interesting anymore.
Case in point: Cristiano Ronaldo.
Why bring Cristano into this?..
For my part I wasn't thinking of any particular footballer. I was rather thinking about men I have met in my life
. And how sexy politeness and manners can be…
Yeah I figured Kirstine
, I didnt think you were talking about anyone and I agree with your point
and I wasn't referring to your post..
do you know him personally? just saying….
Aww, call me old-fashioned but I'm a big fan of manners! Makes me adore him even more.
hoyeahh,shirt removal compilations!!.and i'm absolutely a fan of dahveed's emo hair..
