Euro 2012 In Pictures: Denmark vs Portugal, Netherlands vs Germany

The Euro 2012 Group O’ Death action soldiered on Wednesday and here’s our two cents about it:

Denmark: So, we know next to nothing about this team. Except that Bendy wore green pants that we’ve never seen before. We thought we’d seen all of his pants, so we’ll go with that.

Portugal: Some of the players need several soft-bristle brushes and a good conditioner to properly prep for game days. An excess of testosterone bodes well in footy matches, but when Ronaldo doesn’t have the energy or desire to whore out his body, you know he’s had a bad day.

Netherlands: Wesley Sneijder’s torso. And that tattoo. Oranje fans have suffered with this enough but Ibrahim Afellay is so refreshingly cute, he makes us want to skip through meadows and wear petticoats.

Germany: Well, they had this loveliness up front. Also up front, Mats Hummels. We assumed teams only needed one muscle-bound, vein-bulging footballer to win a game. So, congrats on that.

  3. Mony says:

On Sneijder is that tattoo of his wife? If it is :shakes head: one of the dumbest things to do.

Wes has a tattoo of UCL on his torso that's mmmm hot!

This is the first time I see two old (& classic) rivals showing their love to each other. The Dutch truly have their own internal problems & they need to sort it out. It showed on the pitch…they didn’t want to look to each others’ eyes that night.

Why is there a rip on Nicky's underpants? Shouldn't he continue ripping it?

I felt so much better after the Holland vs Germany game! Watching two of the guys I dislike the most in football score was a bit much frankly. I'm talking about Pepe and Bendtner. There, I've said it. I really think people should stop chanting "Messi" at Ronaldo, though. It's beginning to get tiresome.

But then Mario, Mats and Mesut came on and saved my day! The Germans had a tremendous game! I think they're gonna win the whole shabam. The way the neutralized the dutch team the last 15 minutes.

    Now Spain!

Unlucky to Denmark to lose after they came back into the game, but I won't say that Portugal won unfairly – their overall performance was very good!
What depends on Germany – they are just too cute and great to be true, aren't they? Gotta love them, but I hope they will improve their game, just like we enjoy supporting (read: watching) them :D
The "volleyball" reference was funny! :)

couldn't be happier about the Portugal result! still don't think Ronaldo has earned that captain's armband (this is all Scolari's fault because now no coach will ever be brave enough to take it away from him, too much controversy), but I do love the way the team is playing! hope my bb can get his sh*t together though! there were at least 3 or 4 sitters he should have scored there, yikes! but, unlike most fans, I'm not gonna bash him–that doesn't make anything better in case people haven't noticed. true fans don't turn their backs on a player, especially not before such a crucial game. Portuguese fans are too quick to blame Ronaldo for everything, and give him all the praise when things go right. that shouldn't be how it works people, TEAM SPORT, remember? anyway, the pressure's really on now though so he better get it together against Holland, we'll need him to perform! Força Portugal!

I agree with you regard CRon; however, people do blow too much smoke up his rear. You could see how much he wanted to make a goal. He wanted it so much, I'm sure his groin was aching, and instead was upstaged by his teammates.

The goals were all well deserved by the players who made them. Força Portugal, pois é!

i wanna post this, which is in my opinion better than Sneijder’s torso http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/59tS0X9D58H/Nether…
Mario Gomez is HOT, and definitely he has a great…

    That's some ugly tattoos

I've been lost in the amazing close up tv slowmo of Mario's thighs for his second goal since it happened. Mesmerising stuff.

I don't think I've ever seen this much PDA between a German and a Dutch team before, Schweinsteiger and van Bommel were especially cute with their hug that seemed to go on forever.

Still, apologies to any Dutch fans here, but this is my favourite photo from last night: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m5m0nqOVvG1qz9o…

Lol Mats leaves a trail of devastation wherever he goes.

    • Linda says:

Hahah, we Dutch will live! It was a deserved win because we played terribly.
My German BF though (living in Holland) now knows what it's like to disagree with me, my friends and the entire pub…

The photo is great. Pure chaos in the dutch team and Mats Hummels with a "Cat that ate the canary"-grin. Well, who can blame him, actually? I certainly not.

Btw, Schweinsteiger said in german TV (after the Ireland – Spain game) that he told MvB they would do anything to win against Denmark so the dutch would still have their chance of reaching the quarterfinal. It seems like he was happy with his own game / his teams game but also felt sorry for his former teammate at the same time. Lets wait and see how his and MvB's plan are playing out on sunday.

    • Kristina says:

What a fantastic photo! (sorry Dutch fans)
