Really – are you interested in this recap at all?

We thought we were, but we’d rather gaze at Iker than write another 10,000 entries on the Beckhams.

Spain played very well, but….I miss David Villa! :'(

  3. Cella.xx says:

Spain and Italy are very good teams but I think that Croatia is underestimated..

  4. Jane says:

i feel i must post in favour of Italy – they are playing better than they have in years(well for half the game) and how can you dispute the prettiness of the team??? forza italia!!!!
de Rossi and his scruffiness is lovely and marchisio is shaping up nicely too…..

I'm so proud of Torres! I'll always believe in him! Hope he scores a lot more goals for Spain! :)

Those Irish fans were something else, they kept on singing when they were 4-0 down. I really enjoyed the game, specially happy for Fernando. Thought him, Silva, Alonso were all really great, and Iniesta is just out of this world isn’t he? I’d like to see Juan get some playing time against Croatia, I’m dying to see him play (and if it’s next to Fernando, even better).

So proud of Nando!! Que lindo!!!!

Andre and Daveed majestic! Happy for Torres, need to see some of Fer on the pitch in the last 15 minutes instead of Cesc but he scored anyway que Golazo he scored too!

Happy that xabi got some rest too. Vamos Espana! ¡A por la final!

    • Katie says:

I was surprised Del Bosque brought Cesc on instead of Llorente or Negredo. Being 3 up against a team that wasn't really pressing would have been a great chance to see one of them.

Ah Spain, you broke my heart just like you did in 2002. Except this time you really were the better team. A simple but massive gulf in talent was clear for all to see and there was never any chance for us. How's the likes of Paul Green (who doesn't even have a club) ment to compete with the likes of Xavi!

Well done to Spain though, thoroughly deserved. Was so proud to be Irish listening to us still singing our hearts out even when 4-0 down.

Torres obviously didn't get my memo on not scoring against me. Seriously, I cheer my arse off for him to score for Chelsea and he repays me like this!? Oh well, I still love my Boys in Green!

    • Sarah, Madrid says:

Aww! the sight of irish and spanish fans singing together! a lesson to all fans out there!

      Hard luck baby

      • IrishBlue says:

That was really nice to see, pity we don't see more of that kind of thing between supporters.

    • Kristina says:

Yes, the singing was absolutely fantastic. Goosebumps!

SO SO SO proud of Fernando! I had to hold back tears when he scored his first today. He never gave up and his persistence and hard work have paid off.

    • jen says:

by the way, i like how the file for the photo of fernando has the name "liverpool" in it.. he's always be liverpool's number 9 for me!

  15. Good picture. and i'm in favor of Spain teams :)
