Oh Kickettes, what a few days it has been.
The Czech Republic, France, Greece and England all fought valiantly in their respective quarter finals, but found themselves sliding inexorably out of the tournament and into the ether anyway, like a brand new mobile phone handset might slip out of a handbag and ruin the week of those who depend upon it for their very sanity.

And for this against italy they played poorly and did absolutely not deserve to win it! they played poorly in the whole tournament like they got lucky very lucky against sweden(not a bitter swede, Im just saying it as it is)
Yeah, we would have just got hammered by the Germans if we'd limped into the semis. The quarters were our natural limit. Italy deserved to win the match, no question.

Well Kickettes, i think i've seen the light! Thanks to the other day's game i now understand why you thought that Joe Hart was so hot. I never had much consideration of him till i saw him playing and making funny expressions and sexy poses. Oh and that tongue just killed me… mmm he's utterly sexy+delicious!

and as for Joe Hart's penalty faces, I think it was adorable and shows that he putting every inch of him to good use! Keepers have always adopted tactics like that in the past – Grobbelar etc etc.

Can I just say how much I am in love with Pirlo!!! Such class, calm. Proof that physical strength is worth nothing without brains. His penalty kick was superb. And seriously, Joe Hart's really ridiculous and childish facial grimaces were ridiculous and juvenile!!!
at the last WC, no one really spoke of Pirlo who was injured and only played the last match, so underrated. Gorgeous man, with gorgeous skills! He also wins for best hair of the tournament.
And Italy's NT have hands down, the hottest men in the tournament: Buffon, Pirlo, Bonucci, Balzoretti, THIAGO MOTTA (FINE AS HELL), Balotelli (not bad), De Rossi, Marchisio and sorry I forgot any!
Pirlo sure is a great player. I have to admit that I'm a little worried about the semi final. As much as I have enjoyed England vs Italy I really want my Nationalmannschaft to win. Though that would mean that I would go without those photos of Buffons … ähm thighs.
His 'ridiculous and juvenile' faces were to put off the kickers. Its a tactical mindllplay, so he wasn't being stupid he was being clever.
Grobbelaar did the Spaghetti Legs and Van Der Sar did the big stance to make him seem bigger then he was. All goalie do things.
So again no he wasn't being stupid, he was trying to psyche them out!
I do get it's a tactic used by other goalkeepers as well but I hate when they do that. It just seems really unclassy to me.
… but after Andrea owned him he did look rather foolish. It's like, "oh, you're trying to psyche me out? Silly boy. Let me scoop this penalty shot into the net with less than the effort it takes to style my perfectly maintained coif and then saunter away jauntily because I'm too cool to even celebrate."
… or at least, that was the monologue I created in my head.
If Pirlo's chip had ended up in Harts hands it would have been him that was the foolish one for trying it. That's how football works.
Did he look like an idiot? Yes I'm not denying the faces that Hart was pulling were the most flattering ones I've ever seen but we're they ridiculous and juvenile? No because he was doing them for a purpose, not just because he felt like it.
Can you calm down? We're just joking around, not making a federal case about why Hart made faces. You don't need to deny anything or defend him. Chill.
LOL! A federal case! I agree. It's just a game for god's sake. Because football does not belong to footballers, but is an industry in itself, some people take the matters for serious business.
And Rossanera, is a Thiago Motta hotness praise really a first for you? I have noticed him since his early days it Inter! Not for his play initially to be honest. What a fine man and getting better with age. I hope Italy beats Germany during the semi-finals. I think they can sort it out if Mr Balotelli actually gets sharper (damn he can be slow motion sometimes, missing out great opportunities that Pirlo feeds him) otherwise I would rather see him benched and put on Di Natale instead. I think Italy has a chance against a German side who conceded 2 goals to a really really poor Greek team.
The second goal from the greeks was a pity penalty from the referee. I think the Germans have the chance to beat Italy. They marked Cristiano Ronaldo into nothingness in their first game against Portugal. And they have a very different squad now compared to 2006. Much younger & hungry for a win.
I'm English and I'm upset we are out. I have every right to feel aggrieved about my team.
But isn't that part of the purpose of the Panenka? Deployed at that point in the penalty line-up, it's meant to humiliate and rattle the goalkeeper. What Hart chose to do with his face for intimidation purposes was his thing, but you gotta admit Pirlo's slow chip in made him look rather foolish for it.
OMG! His PK was so cheeky! I LOVED it. It was definitely a "child please" to Joe trying to psyche him out. Mario's PK was too.
In the Italian NT you have some hotties but Buffon reminds me a bit of Dracula.
Thiago Motta? Really? That's a first. But thank you for the praise of my Nazionale! All of the awards to Andrea, now and forever. He's so underrated and SO superbly talented – so nice of the world to wake up and finally take notice.
I'm anxious about the semifinal but I think if we are eliminated it will be with our heads held high. The world respects us again, and that's really what I wanted from this tournament. The snapshots of Gigi's bum were just a bonus!
