Video Exclusive: Bobby Boswell vs The Finest 5
Bobby Boswell, shortlist finalist and D.C. United defender has gone on record exclusively for Kickette with his thoughts on the Finest Five list.
If you’re unfamiliar with Mr. Boswell, let us fill you in on his many talents: he’s tall, he’s up for a laugh (obviously, if he’s agreed to this), and he made our ‘videographer’ too weak in the knees to film the bloody interview properly or use any form of focus with the camera. Oh, and he knows the appropriate use of the word ‘minger‘.
Alas, Bobby still sits outside the our top 5, largely due to his refusal to conduct the interview with his shirt off. Guess he didn’t want it bad enough.
A few BB randoms:
- 2006 was a good year for Bobby. He was named the MLS Defender of the Year, DC United’s Humanitarian of the Year, and named as one of Cosmopolitan magazine’s 50 Hottest Bachelors.
- Bobby’s favourite EPL player? Steven Gerrard. “I think he can motivate his team,“ he told us. “He’s a good leader and a good player.“ When we asked if he thought Steven was good-looking, Bobby said he “didn’t want to judge him.“ Read into that what you will.
- Bobby does a stack of charity work when he’s not on the pitch. Check out the Bobby’s Bunch outreach program he’s set up.

Kickette you are love. Seriously. When I saw Bobby on your page this morning I wanted to fling myself out of my chair and jump around the room screaming, in a tween-ish manner, ‘OMG, OMG, it’s Boooobby, OMG!!‘. And then I realized people at work might have found that a tad obnoxious.
