Family Matters: Yolanthe’s Brother In Hit & Run Drink Driving Accident

Xavier Cabau van Kasbergen, brother of Mrs Wesley Sneijder, got himself into a spot of bother last Friday in Hilversum, Netherlands and ended up getting arrested.

Anyone not familiar with Hilversum, know this: it is a lovely town 30 km (19 mi) south east of Amsterdam that’s surrounded by heathland, woods, meadows and lakes.

In other words, it’s a place made for getting in trouble.

Xavier’s time spent commandeering his car was reportedly short lived since he crashed into a cable box and plowed over a freshly laid garden soon after take off. Following the collision, Xavier fled the scene rather than report it to the police. Naturally. We assume he did so because he knew that the “combination of alcohol and stimulants” that he had in his system at the time of the accident would earn him an overnight trip to the nick (which eventually happened once officers traced the vehicle’s registration to his home, made him hand over his license and arrested him on the spot).

And, this isn’t the first time that Yolanthe’s bro has been in trouble with the law. A year ago he was tried and fined 500 Euros for assault.

We always saw Wesley and Yolanthe as easy-going, “We’re above this” types of rabble rousers but we find strange comfort in knowing that at least one of their extended family members can throw down with the best of ‘em (we figured it’d be on Yo’s side since she’s – what? One of 12 kids? The odds were in her family’s favour).

Plus, we know drink driving is wrong, but the idea of Wesley bitch slapping his brother-in-law into submission is strangely attractive to us.

It's really sad that people hit and run when they drive after taking alcohol. People shouldn't drive after drinking .

It's not a drink driving "accident"…it's a "crash". Accidents are unavoidable and suggest the driver isn't at fault.

It was a drugs driving accident caused by Xavier Cabau. It was not the first time he violated the law. He has a substantial record.

    • DebS says:

I agree Ruby. It's not an "accident" when you knowingly drink and drive. That is definitely an avoidable crash.

What a loser! I hope the authorities revoke his license & also force him to ride a unicycle for at least 5 years.
