Gerard Pique: DJ at 35,000 Feet
Rain: we have such a contradictory love for you. You destroy the noble, earnest work of our GHDs, but you create so many lovely moments on the pitch with footballers, wet shorts and our imaginations.
Anyhoo, let’s get some news on what FC Barcelona’s Gerard Pique got up to this weekend. Aside from sporting a new hair cut and getting nicely watered down whilst at work, the 22-year-old defender also did a spot of DJing.
On the baller-packed plane back from Madrid after Barca’s 1-0 win over Getafe, Pique broke out his i-Pod and hooked his music up to the in-flight sound system for everyone to enjoy.
Apparently, it took some coercing to get the staff on board to agree. Can’t imagine why – would you deny this man a request to share anything he owns with you? If offered, we’d accept an empty chewing gum packet and wear it as a locket with pride, damn it. No confirmation on what tunes Gerard had up in the mix, but they were good enough to get Thierry Henry, Eric Abidal and Yaya Toure dancing in the aisles.

When I’m nice and dry indoors and the only people standing in the rain are beautiful footballers with shirts clinging to their tight bodies, rain is my favourite thing in the world!
I love ballers playing DJ! AZ’s Romero used to hook up his I-Pod in the dressingroom after a win, playing loud Argentina music.
