Get Well Soon: Antonio Cassano, AC Milan

AC Milan/Italy forward, Antonio Cassano, publicly thanked his supporters yesterday after successfully undergoing heart surgery.

Stemming from a mysterious illness that he suffered on a return plane ride following AC Milan’s match against AS Roma on 28 October, Cassano told well-wishers how their kind thoughts and words of encouragement had lifted his own spirits.

His message of gratitude, as posted on the club’s Web site, is below:

“I wanted to express my personal gratitude and that of my family for the extraordinary affection which has been shown towards me in the last few days. The difficulties and sadness have been mitigated by so many demonstrations of affection from all over the world [Ed. Note: including Real Madrid and Inter Milan]. I will observe a rest period at home and I will be glued to the television to follow the fortunes of my Milan and the national team.

A big hug to everyone and thank you.”

Kickettes, please join us in sending nothin’ but the best for Cassano and his family.
