Getting Rosy with Salomon Kalou
Salomon Kalou, we feel your pain.
Not only is your winsome, sweet face and abs of steel oft-ignored here on Kickette, but you also have to deal with this clearly unprovoked attack from one of the many after-hours rose-sellers who lurk and then pounce on the unsuspecting and full of wallet.
For those unfamiliar with being accosted whilst on a night out by an over-eager single-stem vendor, it’s really quite a special experience.
They hone in on the weak and/or coupled up and pepper them with guilt-ridden statements like, “Aren’t you going to show your lady-friend just how special she is? She’s not even worth one, single red rose? Blimey, luv, you best move on from this tightwad.“ And so forth.
Our thoughts are with you and your terribly unattractive jacket.

That is a pretty ugly jacket. I think the rose-seller’s jacket is better looking.
Oh Kalou, you don't need to buy me flowers just because we shared a moment. Really. Your fashion sense scares me. Frank has an excuse (evil Elen), but you darling do not. Get thyself to a stylist and you could become one of the Kickette beloved!

Most romantic response given to a Rose Vendor: "We've already slept together" I'm not joking. That was actually said. I was there. It was my boyfriend who said it. He was French… so much for them being "romantic".
