Going Green: Africa Unity Kit
Proving that jazz hands really do make the world a better place, take a look at Cameroon captain Samuel Eto’o and Nigerian NT player Chinedu Obasi. They’re modeling the first-ever continental football kit during what seems to be A Chorus Line rehearsal breaks.
The kits were created to raise awareness of the International Year of Biodiversity. While we could do with a different colour swatch, we give Puma two enthusiastic Kickette thumbs up for doing good work with spandex and their “Play for Life” campaign in conjunction with the UN Environment Programme.
Dubbed the Africa Unity Kit, we were overwhelmed at the sweating-so-profusely-this-shirt-has-GOT-to-come-off prospects on display. We were dismayed, obviously, when we zoomed to discover midsection friendly paint splats disguised as six-pack perspiration blobs. Shucks.
All 12 African national teams will eventually sport the kit so there’s still hope that the bottoms can be preshrunk in time to match the body-hugging top.
The thought of a dozen African NTs severing enough circulation to their thighs so that pure, unadulterated musculatory strain shows makes the hairs on the backs of our necks stand up in allegiance. If the African Cup is any indication, we needn’t worry as plenty of flesh will find its’ much-needed escape route somehow.

I loooove your commentary on this topic, esp. the last paragraph… lol u gals read my mind! “severing enough circulation to their thighs so that pure, unadulterated musculatory strain shows makes the hairs on the backs of our necks stand up in allegiance”
Maybe Eto’o is going green himself by growing a small tree in his pants…
Damn it…jealousy is a bitch.
I quite like these kits, including the colour combo. I look forward to seeing Chelsea’s African boys sporting them.
Umm…I’m surprised Kickette didn’t acknowledge the ahh…err…”bio bulge” in the shorts of Samuel Eto’o …
*is it real or Photoshopped* (That should be the name of a new regular Kickette feature…)
