Good Week/Bad Week: Babies & Big Mouths
We never thought we’d see Joey Barton successfully accessorising a mauve pram with matching shoes. Anything is possible in this world, Kickettes. Image via twitter.
And that’s just the staff.
Brand New Barton: Operating strictly within the bounds of our ‘better late than never’ policy, let us be the last to offer big congrats to Joey Barton and Georgia McNeil, who became parents to Cassius Joseph Barton on 28th December. Obviously we were in no fit state to report that sooner, but Joey had no similar problems – he played in QPR’s 1-1 draw with Swansea while Georgia was in labour, then made it to her side in time for the birth.
Special Delivery: Speaking of the stork, Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones’ wife, Dani, is pregnant. This news is extra special for the couple as it comes so soon after the tragic death of their son Luca from leukemia in November. Congrats to both.
Alberto de la Bella: We have no idea how this slipped under our radar. Our most humble apologies to him and our readers.

You what, Wojciech?: Barely three seconds after confirming @13szczesny13 as his official Twitter handle (above), Wojciech Szczesny had to apologise for telling Aaron Ramsey he “looked like a rapist” in his golf gear. According to reports, his club “reminded him of his responsibilities” and he has subsequently said sorry for any offence caused.
Better Late Than Never: Twelve months after Andy Grey and Richard Keys got sacked from Sky for implying a woman wasn’t competent enough to run the line at a football match, Ipswich Town manager Paul Jewell one-upped them: ”I think everyone to a man thought it was a penalty. Unfortunately to every man, but not a woman.” He later denied his comments were sexist, albeit unconvincingly for us.
Nicola McClean: After publicly slating Natasha Giggs before entering the Celebrity Big Brother house, karma is coming back to bite her in the ass as she’s the odds-on favourite to get the boot tonight.
