Good Week/Bad Week: Girlfriends, Grooves & Green Gilets
Titi is in London this weekend for the unveiling of his Arsenal commemorative statue. We can only hope the sculptor wasn’t obliged to replicate his shoes n’gilet combo. We’d prefer not to have to look at that for the next 100 years. Image: PacificCoastNews.com.
In a week where the whole of Manchester was thrown out of Europe’s elite competition, we admirably restrained our ‘inner mean girl‘ while you lot let rip on Shakira’s new ‘do and Yoann Gourcuff reappeared on our radar, you may well ask what could possibly be left for us to report on?
Plenty, as you’ll soon see…

Dissing Directive: Just to confirm; it’s fine for us to go on about the inadequacies of footballers, but we won’t tolerate any boys doing the same. Pep Guardiola received this message loud n’clear this week when he pointed out that Barca baby Isaac Cuenca isn’t the prettiest of boys. Cuenca’s girlf, Carme Torres, leapt to the her man’s defence, stating that “The first time that I saw [him], I said to myself: here is [the one] for me. I’m proud of who he is inside and out. To me [he's who] I like and it is enough.” You go, girl!
Arsenal Erections: Statues of Arsenal heroes Thierry Henry, Tony Adams, and Herbert Chapman are to be unveiled today in honour of the club’s 125th anniversary. The statues commemorate major contributions to the club’s history, but the choices have provoked some criticism as there is no place for Ian Wright. Thoughts, Arsenal Kickettes?
Grandmaster Tam: Music now, and former Canadian international and Real Betis nearly-man Tam Nsaliwa has directed frustration at his up-and-down career into an album. ‘Beats & Burgers’ is Nsaliwa’s debut mix tape and charts ‘the downward descent of his career’. The good news part? It’s not half bad. You can check it out by visiting our good friends over at KCKRS.

Down & Out: Having just been unceremoniously dumped from the Champions League by the mighty Basel, Manchester United fans might have been thinking their week couldn’t get any worse. Unfortunately, it just did. It has been confirmed that Nemanja Vidic, who was stretchered off with a knee injury during Wednesday’s game, has ruptured a cruciate ligament and is unlikely to play for ‘several months‘. Sigh. All we can offer is a hearty get well soon to Vidi. Anyone know a decent mechanic?
Fidelity Fail: The wife of Bolton striker Ivan Klasnic has filed for divorce after visiting his Manchester flat and finding it full of women’s clothes and ‘compromising photos’. Patricia Klasnic told Bunte Magazine that she had always ignored rumours about her hubby’s amorous antics, but the discovery confirmed her worst fears. She also stated in the interview that she is ‘over’ men at the moment, but should she decide to start dating again, she will avoid ‘ballers. Can’t blame her.
Baby Harry Back In Hospital: We’re sorry to report that Jamie O’Hara and Danielle Lloyd’s baby son Harry has been taken back into hospital. According to reports, the five-month-old suffered breathing difficulties on Wednesday afternoon and was kept in overnight for observation and tests. Harry was, of course, ten weeks premature and stayed in hospital for a month after his birth. Please join us in sending our best wishes to Jamie & Danielle at this difficult time.
See? We never lie. We just occasionally embellish.
