Hair Wars: Battle of the Blondes
It’s a player peroxide fiesta of late, Kickettes. Not sure if the summer heat has literally gone to everyone’s heads or what, but let’s investigate:
Alan Smith has returned to his former bottle blonde bleached-out avec roots look after a brief dabble in au naturel;
John Arne Riise has gone from ginger to strawberry blond to just plain blonde. We say home hair kit; and
Philippe Mexes decided to edit the blonde. The piggies are gone. Removed suddenly from our lives, like a bottle (or two) of wine on a weekday evening. Instead, there is some sort of textured, road-surface texture situation going on. Plus a quiff-hawk.
Who gets your vote for the best/worst of the bunch? Bigger pics below.
Smithy of course, and I can never quite forgive Riise for kicking the ball that broke Smithy's leg *shudders*. Logically I know it was not his fault……..but all the same!
Another vote for Smithy! He is much, much hotter as a blonde, although I kind of like his Sulky Boy look in the "au naturel" photo…
Riise's looks like he did it himself in the bathroom. I'm surprised Smudge's hair hasn't snapped off completely after years of peroxide, but it does suit him, unlike the grim peach melba away top he's got on.
i like Mexes' hair !
Best for me is Alan Smith. I have always loved his hair, natural or blond. Worst is Philippe Mexes. I can’t believe he cut his hair! I loved his crazy hair and now it’s all.. not good.

You know, I have always had a totally weird/inexplicable/dirty hot thing for Riise. But only because he was ginger. He's gone and ruined that now. Smithy for the win.

Philou because he simply wins at life!! I am heart broken to see the multi-pony-tail concoctions gone they were a massive part of his charm, but who knows what he can style this new-do into…I am hoping he will shape it like various different animals.
Smudger of course, he's the only bottle blonde in my life!!
Lets jsut say it does nothing for Riise. I vote Alan Smith but thats because I'm used to it.
i've no idea how you do it, but u tend to post the most hideous pictures of smudge. i do understand you're buzy hunting for the 6ft+ players so it's ok. mexes is an improvement! i quite like. very gladiator-ish. riise? hmm blonde with red beard? i think not..though in certain parts of the world after 15 guiness he might be quite the sexy devil
Smith always looks good with the super bleached blond. Riise…I love ya, but I don't think it suits. And I'm liking the Mexes hawk!
Alan Smith was born for the peroxide, there's no other explanation. Riise looks ridiculous somehow. So that's my best and worst.
Riise’s has been getting steadily blonder over the summer, it’s a bit ridiculous at the moment, but it looked lovely when it was in the in between stages, nearly blond but still a bit reddish.
I’m still not sure how I feel about Philou’s new hair. We’ll see.
Philou FTW. I loved those piggies to death, but I’m so hot for this new ‘do. As in that pic has been been the background on my laptop since yesterday.
I adore Riise, but I want his ginger back. Smith does look good that color though. But it’s all Frenchie for me.
Hmm, the best improvement is deffinatley Mexes, he looks much better. But its a hard one between Alan and Mexes. I cant choosee!
Mexes. While I’ll miss the random ponytail updates on Twitter, he’s still the best looking of the three.
