Harry Kewell Heads to Istanbul

2008 may be going down as the summer of the hottie-defect, but we’re going to remain positive.
First Carlos Bocanegra heads off to France, and now Harry Kewell is packing up and cruising over to Turkey to play for Galatasaray.
Aside from having to deal with the inevitable wrath of Leeds United fans, we’re wondering how Harry sold the move to partner Sheree Murphy, who as we all know, is a regular staple on the WAG scene. Where will she drink, dine and shop?
Since we know precious little of the Turkish footie scene, we can only assume there are some high-quality WAGs who will take her under their wing and guide her credit cards to the right locations.
We’ll miss you and your hat head, Harry!

Gone To Turkey, But Never Forgotten.
I can understand the anger of the Leeds fans but its his career and he has to do whats right for him and his family. Sheree helps present a tv programe in the UK and she always comes across as very devoted to Harry and the kids so I supose if this was the best oppertunity he was offered she’d support him regardless!
I am guessing that the family is not moving to Turkey. I can see them staying in Liverpool and him playing in Turkey alone. IT is Harry after all and he will be injured at least half of the season. Oh and I HATE that tatt

i admit, when i heard the news, it was one of the first thoughts in my head. i remember her saying she couldn’t bear to move away from england and her family. i can’t really imagine him staying there for the whole three years, tbh. he’ll retire within the next two and move them all to australia.
I was surprised that he chose Turkey as well and I’m wondering how he convinced Sheree to move. I wish him all the best though so I hope this move will be good for him.

That was my first thought too, Kickette! Why in the world would he move his family to Istanbul? And how did he convince Sheree to go along with it?? I don’t imagine Harry was terribly in demand, football wise. I mean, the guy managed…what….4 games in 5 years for us? But he is adorable.

Of all the clubs he had the choice to move to, you can’t blame people for questioning his choice. He was part of the squad at the time the incident occured.
I hope Sheree takes the move well, It must be difficult being with a footballer and having to up and leave the life you’ve built. It must also be hard for the kids leaving their schools and friends, but I guess it something you sign on for when you do make the decision to be a professional footballer. Good Luck to them.
I hate Leeds. The move to Turkey is a head-scratcher. I’ve been to Istanbul, and it’s a beautiful, interesting city, but I can’t see a WAG enjoying it much.
The hand tattoo screams “Brad Pitt’s character in the Ocean’s movies” to me. Not really feeling it, to be honest. Didn’t love on pre-man-whore Brad, don’t love it on Harry, either. Harry’s a cutie, though, and I wish him all the best in Istanbul. Hope Sheree toughs it out with him, despite the un-WAGiness of a city like Istanbul. Otherwise, he could get pretty lonely, poor guy… Ta-ra, HKew! Best wishes!

I know pretty much nothing about Turkish football, but I do know that thats an excellent tattoo.
