Heath Pearce: Transfer Totty & Sex Symbol Status?

Chivas soccer player traded MLS hot Heath G Pearce twitter Facebook

Image: FCDallas.com.

The internet was rife with news of Heath Pearce to NYRB, Juan Agudelo to Chivas transfer talk, yet there was no mention of this hottie’s horse riding tendencies.

Why not?

There should’ve been, because this vintage poster circa his FC Dallas days definitely provides us with an interesting peek into the centre/left back’s psyche. Does he like tall and lanky blonds to play farm hand(s) to his cowboy? Does he prefer ladies who wear Frye boots versus Hunter wellies?

While Pearce’s professional career has been tenuous at times, his Abercrombie & Fitch image and likeness has not. So is he and his Owen Hargreaves-ish good looks just what New York really needs? Can Heath’s obvious visual appeal* eventually help cement him as Major League Soccer’s first born and bred** bonafide sex symbol***?

Too many questions to tackle all at once, dear readers. Seeing that it’s Friday and that ain’t never gonna happen, we’ll rely on our  beloved “believing is seeing” motto.

We need to see more of Heath and Juan’s abs before we believe this trade was a good one.

*We said “visual appeal,” so that excludes his alleged truth-telling issues.
**Sort of.
***Pending he steps his product shilling game up. Like…way up.

As a NYRB fan, I'm sad to see Juan go (although we'll be seeing him quite soon… Chivas @ NY on Wednesday night), but I don't mind this trade. Juan had the "wow" factor, but he was never going to get into the starting 11 with Henry and Cooper doing so well in front of him. He needs playing time, and if Chivas gives it to him, it's a win-win for everyone (including the USMNT). Plus NY gets part of the transfer fee when he leaves MLS for Europe, which everyone knows is going to be sooner rather than later.
Meanwhile, NY gets an extremely versatile defensive player who can and will step right into the starting lineup and hopefully give Meara a bit of a breather– I think he's 1st in the league in shots faced, which tells you something about why we need defensive reinforcements.

Don't ask me how I know this, but if anyone watched the first season of the Glee project his younger (adopted) sister is Lindsay Pearce

She's playing his cowgirl colleague and not dressed up as some sort of "indian" he's about to lasso like a stray calf, right? RIGHT?

    because otherwise…. sigh.

Sad. I remember the good old days when Kickette did not cover the MLS. This is the tackiest thing I have ever seen.

Incredibly tacky, but it was for charity. And don't act like players in other leagues are never involved in questionable photoshoots. At least this one was for a good cause.

Heath is def.a hottie! And really sweet, met him at a FC Dallas event for women. Loving the love you’re showing the MLS!
