Italian NT: Giraffe v Lion
The Italian National Team took a break from the Confederations Cup action to visit The Lion Park in Randburg, South Africa.

Oh, who are we kidding: Fabio Cannavaro wins at everything. We know it. You know it. Animals on the savannah know it. That lion cub is about to walk right over Zambro to get to the sweet gooey insides of Fabio.

Oh my god, I used to work at that lion park. I’m so jealous that my ex-colleagues got to meet the Italian team. The only people I got to meet there were boring presidents and other politicians. Never hot footballers!
The giraffe’s name is Gambit, he’s now about seven years old. The white lion cubs pictured look to be about five months old – just in case anyone’s interested to know.

Aaawh aint it just beautiful. Man I just can’t wait to go and watch the Italy vs Brazil game live on Sunday, lurving my Azzurri boys on my South African soil. Rather weird that the Spain NT didn’t opt to go to the Sundown Lion Park, it’s sooo close to where they were staying in Rustenburg.
I wonder if the boys of the Spanish NT are upset that the Italian guys got to see and pet actual lions. They seemed really disappointed to only find only rhinos and giraffes.

My sister worked at a wildlife park in Africa and now back here in the US too…so amazing to see those animals up close!
