After a minor faux-pas when he met British Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne, Jermain Defoe was determined to make a good impression on the dignitaries present at the 15th Anniversary celebrations of the Princes Trust Football Initiative.

Initially, things went brilliantly. Jermain, Danny Shittu and Reading FC’s Noel Hunt managed to look smart, respectful and attentive, even when in the most royal of company.

Then Prince Charles let slip that he’s a closet Burnley FC supporter.
