John Terry’s Mum Arrested for Shoplifting
Parental responsibility. Aside from providing food, shelter, love and guidance for the early years of our lives, what else does it involve?
Well, if you’re John Terry’s mum, it also involves embarrassing the living crap out of your son just before he’s due to captain an international game.
Yesterday John’s mother, Sue Terry and his mother-in-law, Sue Poole, were cautioned for shoplifting £800 worth of food and clothing from a Marks & Spencer and Tesco shop in Surrey.
Tracksuits were among the gear alleged to have taken by the women at the Brooklands Shopping Centre, near Weybridge, in an affluent part of Surrey…Police were called by security staff at 3pm on Wednesday and the pair were taken to nearby Staines police station in Middlesex…Another source said the women loaded their car with good from M&S but were stopped when they went back to Tesco for more.
Seriously? There is no way. We’re thinking the Sues must have assumed that the other one paid the bill. Really. There is no way. Is there? JT makes a gazillion quid a week. Nuh uh.
Let’s all hope there is some sort of misunderstanding revealed so that John and his lovely wife Toni can carry on with their lives with some form of fortitude. Perhaps JT can channel his extreme shame into an ace performance this weekend. He probably needs a hug. And a couple dozen of these.
Side note: A quick poll of Kickette HQ reveals the usual range of parental shame – drunken chicken dances at weddings, getting picked up from a date by your father in his souped up hoopty with Chas & Dave blasting, and seeing your mom walk across the auditorium of your graduation with her dress tucked into the back of her tights. None involve handcuffs, thank goodness. Have you suffered anything similar?
