John Terry’s Mum Arrested for Shoplifting

image

Parental responsibility. Aside from providing food, shelter, love and guidance for the early years of our lives, what else does it involve?

Well, if you’re John Terry’s mum, it also involves embarrassing the living crap out of your son just before he’s due to captain an international game.

Yesterday John’s mother, Sue Terry and his mother-in-law, Sue Poole, were cautioned for shoplifting £800 worth of food and clothing from a Marks & Spencer and Tesco shop in Surrey.

Tracksuits were among the gear alleged to have taken by the women at the Brooklands Shopping Centre, near Weybridge, in an affluent part of Surrey…Police were called by security staff at 3pm on Wednesday and the pair were taken to nearby Staines police station in Middlesex…Another source said the women loaded their car with good from M&S but were stopped when they went back to Tesco for more.

Seriously? There is no way. We’re thinking the Sues must have assumed that the other one paid the bill. Really. There is no way.  Is there? JT makes a gazillion quid a week. Nuh uh.

Let’s all hope there is some sort of misunderstanding revealed so that John and his lovely wife Toni can carry on with their lives with some form of fortitude.  Perhaps JT can channel his extreme shame into an ace performance this weekend. He probably needs a hug. And a couple dozen of these.

Side note: A quick poll of Kickette HQ reveals the usual range of parental shame – drunken chicken dances at weddings, getting picked up from a date by your father in his souped up hoopty with Chas & Dave blasting, and seeing your mom walk across the auditorium of your graduation with her dress tucked into the back of her tights. None involve handcuffs, thank goodness.  Have you suffered anything similar?

As she was caught loading the stuff into the boot of her car – I think she meant it. I can only assume that they did not get their 'allowance' this week, with him being away an all. I feel bad for JT. Not surprised the first thing he said at his presser was lets leave the personal stuff out!

    i can't believe it O_O

  5. kathmcp says:

I am guessing that a shop assistant didn't pack the stuff nicely away in bags before the Sues left with it. So I am also thinking that they didn't make the mistake of thinking the other one paid for it. Can't see how you make a mistake with 800 quid of stuff. Twice.

Is Tesco like Price Chopper or Stop & Shop? That’s what I’m gathering.

I can guarantee you that even as I scrape by, I have never stolen a thing in my life. So, I really hope this is a misunderstanding. Women at that age, w/ that kind of money at their fingertips… there is no excuse and it’s disgraceful. I really hope that is was a mistake.

On the eve of international duty, I can't see his Mum doing something that would embarrass her son. I think it's a misunderstanding — can't see it being real. lose that girl blog

  13. rhiannon says:

This is clearly not a misunderstanding.

They accepted an offical caution which is pretty much an admission of guilt.

Gosh Kickette, we Kickettes are regular people but we're not that ordinary. If one of our mothers did anything similar to the Sues, we'd probably die of shame.

I have to agree with most others, it has to be a misunderstanding, surely? Hopefully, we will hear more about it soon.

  28. Elise says:

Obviously, I'm heartbroken for John, that he has to go through this. I was really upset when I first heard the news, but then I saw his England press conference and realised that John will do what he always does- he'll just get on with it. He'll focus on his job and he'll go out there and give it everything he has. I'm very proud of the way he handled that press conference. (Well done, Baby!) He's used to carrying alot of weight on those beautiful shoulders so I have no doubt that he'll cope with this, too. It would take more than this to keep him down. He's JOHN TERRY, after all!!! *roar*

  29. Erin says:

Clicking on the Daily Mail story link above….I can't get past the fact that he's wearing WHITE BIRKS in the first pic. Now *that* is what he should really be embarrassed about!

  30. oneoseven says:

Personally I blame JT/Lamps slash, maybe the mothers happened to stumble upon it whilst googling their son/son-in-law and the filthy truth drove them insane? And where do all loaded parentals take out their bottled up emo? Of course, Marks and Sparks! Case solved. xox
