Kickette Catch Up: Weekend Gossip Cheat Sheet
Saturday
- Sadly, we learned that Stephen Ireland’s longtime girlfriend, Jessica Lawlor, sustained major injuries in a car crash that occurred midweek last week. The 25-year-old Mum was supposedly riding shot gun in her friend’s Audi before the luxe car crashed into a tree. Although she was initially treated and discharged with a clean bill of health, she returned to the hospital two days later due to suspected internal bleeding and/or organ damage. We hear she’s healing nicely, but we’re sending our thoughts & warmest get-well-soon wishes to Jess & fam anyway.
- David Beckham proved the power a top shelf bootay can have over our purchasing habits.
- Crystal Palace’s James Vaughn (on loan from Everton, mind you) got fiesty with a wall over the weekend. Can’t we all just get along?
Sunday
- Imogen Thomas. You had your turn. Twice. Please fade back into the unrated-by-the-celebrity-alphabet-abyss.
- Who do you think was cuter as a kid, Kickettes: Frank Lampard or Christine Bleakley?
- Mario Balotelli, proud home owner to the most awkward McMansion on his block, will reportedly not face sanctions from the FA for his badge bust up with Rio Ferdinand during this weekend’s Manchester duel.
- BTW, Rio and his wife, Rebecca, welcomed their third child, a baby girl named Tia, just ahead of the cup clash. How cute will it be to see older brothers Lorenz and Tate keep a keen watch over their little sister?!
Monday
- Gareth Bale has won the PFA Player Of The Year award. It’s obvious he’ll be stashing the trophy in his shorts, but we have no idea if Jack Wilshere plans to do the same with his PFA Young Player of the Year hardware.
That's so awful. Glad she's healing and getting better.
So I hear the baller in question is Ryan Giggs. There's no doubt the world is coming to an end, never thought that of someone like Giggs. I still don't think it's him.
And congrats to Rio!! This is his first girl right??
Congratulations to Gareth Bale and Jack Wilshire on their PFA awards. Both were well deserved. And best wishes to Stephen Ireland's girl for a full recovery. And Frank Lampard will always win the 'cute kid' award. He was adorable. Still is, actually.

I'm so fed up of hearing about those homewrecking skanks (like Imogen Thomas . If you knew he was married and you still went with him the first time….what did you expect?!?!?!? It takes two to tango and he is just as disgusting as she is. I have no sympathy for her or the baller in question…what a bunch of low lifes!
Sigh…Balotelli and his attitude….he is such an arrogant bastard. I feel sorry for him because he doesn't have someone like Fergie around to reign him in. Poor guy it must really hurt not to be in a team like United. I have to remind myself his club doesn't have silverware for him to brag about so the win must have gotten to his head. Ah well…I can't wait to watch Stoke kick City's arse in the final!
On a happier note, so happy for Rio and the wifey. With two older brothers and Rio as her daddy…I'm sure baby Tia will be well protected when the likes of CRJr and Kai Rooney come calling…lol!
