Kickette Catch Up: Weekend Gossip Cheat Sheet

Rather than bore everyone about our hatred for Monday mornings, we’ve taken the more mature route by telling today to ‘suck it’.
Boy did that feel good!
Saturday
- Carles Puyol’s girlfriend, Malena Costa, was busy teaching Barcelona the next ‘big’ thing in goal celebrations over the weekend. That, or presenting Zumba fitness in Madrid.
- Sheree Murphy kindly confirmed for us that yes, her husband Harry Kewell gives her pregnant feet ‘the best’ massages. . Although she’s been living in England for many years, we also learned that Sheree’s temporarily moving to Melbourne and will give birth to the couple’s fourth child in Australia. All the best to the Kewells!
- Switching emotional gears for a second, we’re sad to report that Santos Laguna and Monarcas Morelia players and supporters were forced to scramble for cover after shots were fired in the 40th minute of Saturday night’s Mexican Primera Division match. One police officer was injured while chasing the suspected shooters, but it’s not clear what type of injury he suffered or whether it was the result of gunfire. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected.

Sunday
- Chelsea and Valencia reached a deal (in principle) to bring Juan Mata to London while Atletico Madrid signed Falcao (and his abs) from Porto FC. For once, we’re actually enjoying all the summer transfer window activity.
- We didn’t realise LA Galaxy’s Chris Birchall had an adorable bubba and lovely girlfriend back in England – did you Kickettes?
- V Festival came and went over the weekend, giving Frankie Sandford just enough time to showcase her toned tummy. Back to the drawing board for us.
- And finally, kudos to the Brazilian U-20 team, who were crowned FIFA U-20 World Cup champs following their win over Portugal.

Aww Melena looks adorable in that picture!! Frankie is soo over-hyped it's insane, or maybe it's just me. I don't find her body or her looks to be that great, maybe because I have seen better.

That Kawashima insult confirmed all my suspicions about Belgians. As a Japanese person I feel extremely offended, and unfortunately will probably remain prejudiced against Belgians for the rest of my life because of this incident. Shame on them for such inhuman and base behaviour. Well, I guess not much to expect from a country that's produced nothing but a bit of chocolate.

Ok girls I will try…although it's hard. I am generally against prejudice of any kind but this one really was like a spear through my heart. We all cried so much for the earthquake victims and saw through their suffering. But you're both right I will try not to blame all Belgians. (I've always thought they were a bit weird though…)
Although I'm Dutch I always listen to Belgian radio and yesterday they talked a lot about it on the radio. Full of disgrace. It's just a small group who think because it's football you can do anything. It's ridiculous and it's awful and they will get punished for it. Don't blame all the Belgians.
Reading about Kawashiwa's reaction made my eyes watery. I feel so bad for him. I hope that fans can represent their club with dignity and class in the future.
On a lighter note, JUAN MATA!!!! Seeing more Spaniards is always good
Disgraceful behaviour from those fans. Thousands of people died, the whole country crumbled. I have friends from Japan and I know how painful it was for them. Some people are just sorry excuses for human beings.

Let me just say I am watching Chelesa games regularly from now, Villas is too hot to be missed week in and out adding Mata to Chelesa YUMI! I just picked my favorite EPL team for the year xD.
