Kickette Catch Up: Your Weekend Gossip Cheat Sheet

Image: MCFC.co.uk.

Saturday

- Jealous that their team-mates were getting their fair share of physically-bothersome advances whilst on tour, MCFC’s Edin Dzeko and Alecks Kolarov decided it was time to ditch their shirts once and for all (during their club’s beach party in L.A) in order to get our attention. Mission accomplished.

- Speaking of ‘ballers who get dressed in the same close quarters as Joe Hart, it’s time to reveal our Umbro t-shirt giveaway winner. Kickettes, please give a rowdy round of applause for Christie and her valiant begging efforts. Since we’re suckers for children, we’re pleased to report a second shirt will be going to Sean B (or possibly his daughter). PS: e-mail us your address to claim your prizes!

- Fernando Torres isn’t the only member of his family focusing on his fitness. His wife, Olalla, has obviously been hitting the gym since giving birth to the couple’s second child last December.

Sunday

- FIFA announced its lifetime ban on Mohamed Bin Hammam, the former Asian Football Confederation president who was found guilty of bribing officials during his run for Sepp Blatter’s seat mere months after he assisted Qatar in securing the World Cup hosting rights for 2022.

- We’re not sure what’s more unbelievable: that Fiona from Bristol actually wants Coleen Rooney-inspired eyebrows, or that Danielle Lineker has an advice column in the Daily Mirror?

- Word is that Victoria Beckham has plans to open her first retail store along the street shopping mecca in NYC, 5th Avenue. Will you be visiting during your next trip to the Big Apple, Kickettes?

Finally, for Kickettes in and around the New England area, if you wish to have the likes of the Revolution’s Benny Feilhaber and AJ Soares slave over your nightly sauce, the MLS club is having a Celebrity Bartending night for charity this Thursday in Boston. Show ‘em some love and bring singles in case they’re down for shirt removal via tips.

  2. Nikki says:

I don't think Olalla's b****s( yes I'm a little embarrassed to type that word) are fake I mean doesn't the size increase after child birth ?

    • Nikki says:

Oh and holy shit Dezko …I hate man city and what they stand for but hot dayum those are two fit men ;)

  3. Cella.xx says:

    edin is hooottt

  4. ..... says:

I am not making excusies for balotellis childish behaviors, but he thought he was offside and you could hear something that sounded like a whistle, that was why he did what he did ,people. so you can stop bashing him about it.

but i know he HAS to grow up he is 20 afterall but people are overreacting here and everywhere else.

  5. EspePique says:

The fact that Blatter is still president is depressing.

  6. Tee says:

is that edin dzeko in the background? if so, he's fitttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  7. xbabyshakesx says:

hmmm interesting stuff going on here

  8. Mirella says:

Wow, people on here are very harsh considering their judgement is based on one photo. In course of time I have seen a lot of pictures of Olalla. While in a few she does indeed look tacky, in the next she wears a lovely outfit and again in the next she looks like a 13-year-old on her way to school. It seems to me she doesn't have fashion sense or a personal style, she puts on whatever she feels like and most of the time it's casual and with no or just a minimal amount of make-up.
There are a lot of photos on the internet of this year's holiday and she wore sporty bikinis underneath large T-shirts or sun dresses. This is the only tacky one and she wore it while the couple spent a day without the kids.

Olalla is no Caroline Celico, Irina or Clancey, everyone can see that. But if your footballer husband loves you because of your looks, you will be replaced some time or another.

    • Sarah, Madrid says:

      Exactly!

The fact that you will criticize a person publicily because she is married to a footballer, she didn't ask for this, she is normal person who get married to be in love with her childhood sweet-heart, she is not seeking attention, I dont see anything wrong with her doing "boob job" if her husband is ok with it, maybe he asked for it.

We will never know, all we know they are free of drama very quiet couple.

  9. rachelle says:

my, that is an unfortunate camel toe shot. i feel like i can breathe a sigh of relief now that people are freely admitting she isn't the biggest beauty going around, there used to never be a bad word said against her!

  10. fiddler says:

WOW! Nora's conception must have been a huge party. Apparently an incredible amount of people were present holding the candle for the beloved couple :)

  11. danielle says:

LMAO people Olalla has had fake boobs and a tattoo for many years now. and she didn't trap him. He's european if he didn't want to marry her when she got knocked up he wouldn't have married her. he's been in love with her since he was 16 and if he no longer wants to be married to her he has no problem leaving for greener pasture. as far as the nanny goes she had 2 kids under the age of 2 and she's rich why wouldn't she have a nanny? and why wouldn't she by designer clothers? it beats the horrific fashion choices she used to wear but not by much

  12. Maria says:

that is not the Ollala .. I know (i really don't know her) & love … her boobs didn't look like that in other summer pics … :( … sooo I just hope it's just a bad pic of her (i doubt it though)

  13. notajudgementalcow says:

I'm not a fan of Olalla, in fact I'm completely indifferent towards her but what the hell is wrong with having fake boobs!? Not everyone who has them does it for men to ogle at or because they want to be a glamour model. If someone is unhappy with their weight, they go to the gym and diet; if someone doesn't like their hair colour they dye it; would any of you bitch about that? No!
If she's happier and more comfortable in her skin now, then good for her. As long as it's thoroughly thought through, affordable, and done for the right reasons then there is absolutely nothing wrong with it in my eyes.

  14. Jen says:

Dear Olalla…..I am now so over your husband, that I don't feel I need to hold back on you either. What is up with this look??? Ugly suit, fake(and predictable) tatoo, and the boobs? Seriously?

  15. LaToya says:

I need Edin on the left and Alecks on the right…..oh boy

  16. IrishBlue says:

Well thank you very much for enlightening me to what Mr. Dzeko has been hiding under his shirt!, I'm certainly not disappointed!

  17. Candice says:

Ick, like many others have noted, Olalla looks terrible. The fake boobs, tattoo and tacky bathing suit just make her look so tacky and "waggish". I used to think she was much prettier when she was natural looking. Just my opinion, I guess Nando likes that kind of look.

  18. earidurt says:

i am disappointed in olalla….i thought she was different from all the other WAGs but getting implants is a very WAG-like move. That being said, we all have things we don't like about our bodies and she has the right to change what she doesn't like if it makes her feel better.
also, that first pic….YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. when i go to the beach down here the men are hairy and have pot-bellies…what i wouldn't give to see some hunky men like those!!!

    • balicious8 says:

how do you know that she gets mamary implants? give me a proof

      • kel says:

Look at any picture of her from a few years ago and then compare it to this one where she's wearing a boneless, non-padded bikini that offers little support and that she's actually pulling away from her body and see how much more 'up' her breasts are. They aren't the shape of regular breasts especially not compared to how hers used to look.

  19. Taskeen says:

Alecks and Edin: Hot Damn!… hot. damn.

  20. Caitlin says:

Sorry, but Olalla's fake boobs just look stupid.

And I know most people on here are probably going to disagree with me, but I don't think she's that pretty at all.

    • Lucy says:

I agree with you and that tatooo looks realy tacky IMO

    • Gladys says:

Her obvious adorableness and happy-family-dom aside, I was going to say the exact same thing. Guess there's no doubting the plastic surgery at this point. That triangle top would barely hold up an A cup, let alone defy gravity like that.

    • Iram says:

I completely agree with u. her boobs look so fake. i don't understand why some women out there have to inject their body with all that sillcon

    • Lily says:

I'm sure she's a great person but the implants are too large for the frame, the ruffled bikini looks like something from the juniors section, the tattoo is tacky and camel toe makes anybody look trashy.

    • lora says:

      who think she's pretty? I mean….seriously…

    • Laia says:

Well, to me Olalla doesn't look tacky or even WAG-ish here:
      http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab225/SisouT/n…
      or here http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab225/SisouT/n…
      or here http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab225/SisouT/N…

That's what she looked on the family fun in Ibiza, then she put on this pink thingy for the adults-only trip. Clever girl, in my opinion!

    • Kat22 says:

      I also agree with you.

Don't women realise that it's really obvious their breasts are fake? Personally I think I'd rather have a pair of smaller breasts than this.

I've seen old pictures of Olalla and Nando at the beach and while her breasts were noticeably smaller I don't think it looked bad at all. I thought she looked much better back then actually because she is quite petite and her smaller breasts go better with her body frame.

      Just my opinion of course.

    • Raincitygirl says:

I think she's extremely pretty in a girl-next-door way (though I admit this is an unflattering photograph).

However, I am so very, very VERY in agreement with you on the fake boobs. With her money, you'd think she could have afforded a better plastic surgeon.

And yes, it's entirely possible for fake boobs to look relatively natural. A friend had to have reconstructive surgery following breast cancer a few years ago. She was an A cup before she got sick, and decided to upgrade to a B cup. Her boobs look fine, and normal, not as though she's had surgery at all. And yes, I've seen her in a bikini.

  21. LisaB says:

-ooh Dzeko and Kolarov, I like what I see! Slavic men in general are too hot for words.
-speaking of, Olalla is looking ssssmoking.
-Blatter banning Bin Hammam for bribery for life is so hypocritical. Get ALL those crooks out.
-bravo New England Revolution! btw are Benny and AJ looking for a job at Tater Tots and Body Shots? (a.k.a. the bar on Kickette Island)?

  22. AC_USA says:

Call me crazy but I am determined to find out where Dzeko lives and burn all of his shirts! He looks much better this way. Crazy-I know! :)

  23. Green 4 says:

Don't mean to be rude but the fake t*ts & camel toe is not cute.! Sorry Olalla,,,,

  24. kel says:

Olalla's breasts look even more fake than usual

    • Mel says:

      My thoughts exactly!!!!

    • Rossanera says:

I noticed that too. So sad. I don't even think Nando's the type, you know?

      • kel says:

She's become very waglike the past few years. People liked her when she was girl next door but now she's all fake boobs, dressier clothes, no job to my knowledge and has a nanny to help her look after the accidental kids she had.

        • Rossanera says:

Harsh, but accurate. Why do you need a nanny if you're not employed and not in school and not volunteering? What else could you have to do with your time but look after your children? I'm not one to judge anyone's lifestyle, but my Mom raised my 2 siblings and I as a full-time working mother without the help of a nanny and while my Dad was often away on business. There's nothing wrong with being a stay-at-home Mom … but at least be a Mom. It just bothers me.

          • Rossanera says:

On that note: it must be very strange to be in the public eye for no reason other than being married to someone. I know we all like to bash the WAGs, but I do feel sorry for those who are not independently famous and then suddenly find themselves hounded by the media all the time. I wouldn't want to live that way.

        • Caitlin says:

          I know, right?

I've always wondered if she became pregnant first time round to trap Nando. I mean – I know they'd been together for ages, so whatever birth control they used must have been working.
Then he went to Liverpool, became really famous, had a smashing Euro 2008 and boom – all of a sudden she's pregnant.

Almost as though she became sick of waiting for him to pop the question.
I could be wrong of course, but I always think in this day and age there is no need for an unplanned pregnancy.

          • mimi says:

OMG, you´re so jealous fangirls, aren´t you? She looks fantastic and she makes Nando happy. Fake boobs or not – it´s not our business.

            • Rossanera says:

Um, well, her picture's up there and we're all here commenting, so yeah, it's our "business" for the time being. And how does commenting on a series of objectively observable facts – she's had breast augmentation surgery, and she is, to our knowledge, neither employed nor studying – in a respectful manner – make us "jealous fangirls"? You're entitled to your opinion, we're entitled to ours. It's not like we expressed hatred or were disrespectful in any way – we're just speculating.

              • Caitlin says:

                Well said!

                • rando says:

What makes you sound like "fangirls" is not the fact that you commented on a series of objectively observable facts (fashion choices, boobs) but that you negatively condemn for things that have nothing to do with the photo (contraception, nannies, etc.) for which you probably have no concrete information-and with such vitriol too.

              • Victoria says:

We know next to nothing about this woman thanks to her media shy lifestyle. Above you see one photo of her, if you are interested there are lots more of the family holiday they had where she stayed covered up in sundresses while playing with the kids all the time.
and the nanny issue…we have no clue if this woman is there all the time with the kids or just helps her. Fact is Olalla has no family in England for support and her husband is constantly on the road.
She never goes to parties, not even with her man, and she doesn't put herself or her body out there for the press and everyone to see. She never ever gives interviews and does everything to keep her children out of the football media circus. I don't know why anyone would think this woman is not a good mom, because of a breast augmentation? Come on!

            • Caitlin says:

Ermm…hate to burst your bubble, but I'm not a fangirl actually. Not a fan of Torres anymore at all actually, so your theory is flawed there.

And I will gladly admit that there are lots of beautiful WAGS out there (Nagore being one of them), so there is no jealousy.

Crikey – this website is getting more ridiculous by the day! You can't say anything and aren't allowed to have an opinion!

              • Caitlin says:

Oh and what about Kaka's wife (sorry can't remember her name just now)?
She is truly beautiful and classy.

                • Rossanera says:

                  Caroline Celico. She's lovely.

                • Victoria says:

When it comes to beauty Olalla obviously cannot compete with these gorgeous looking women and with most Wags. She simply doesn't play in their league.
Mr Torres loves her nevertheless. She must be very special to him …. I don't think Nando is so dumb he doesn't know he could be with Irina Sayk's sister, if he wanted.

              • Rossanera says:

That's not entirely true; plenty of girls were able to disagree with your opinion and offer their own without resorting to ill-founded personal attacks!

            • Cecillia says:

This comment is just ridiculous. Just because a person makes a comment about another person, it doesn't make them a 'fangirl,' nobody said a word about Torres or whatever attraction people have for him (I can't look at traitors, sorry) anywhere in that comment, it's just one person having an opinion on another person and that's all. There's no need to pull out the fangirl card every time someone has an opinion on something that isn't strictly football-related.

And for the record, she's always looked tacky as hell so this, whatever the hell it is that she's tied around herself, doesn't surprise me one bit (ooh, I must be a fangirl because I made a comment about a woman's clothes like I impulsively do in my head for every single person I ever see, arrest me because I have a fashion fetish, please~). London hasn't changed either one of them, I see. And where has everyone been? She got a boob job a whiiiiile ago.

          • CeCe says:

Tell that to the thousands of women who fall pregnant when they take the correct precautions I.E Condoms and have an unplanned pregnancy (Y)

I doubt that Fernando would have to be trapped into anything where Olalla is concerned. Fake Boobs or Real Boobs, Nando loves Olalla for them so why should we care.

            • Rossanera says:

True! They're like the Corey and Topanga of the football world! They're such a sweet couple!

          • Laia says:

Although we don't know under which circumstances Nora was conceived, the facts we do know make it more likely that they wanted a baby. The relationship was very serious before, I mean they knew since childhood, started dating with 16, had a distance relationship for years, then lived together in Madrid for years and he took her to live with him in Liverpool.
There they reportedly spent a lot of time with the Reinas who already had babies. For Nando (and I bet for her too) family and friends are very important, but suddenly they were far away. So why shouldn't they have said: let's try for our own family?
Furthermore in summer 2008 (so about the time Nora was conceived) this interview came out where he said how much she helps him, that they are very much alike and that "I guess it's like this when you find the person you want to spend the rest of your life with".

            • kel says:

I don't think Nora was planned. I think they always planned on being together and having kids together but they didn't plan it for right then. She was asked just a few months before she got pregnant when they'd get married and she said they were too young, then just 2 months later she got pregnant and they had a wedding with only 2 witnesses about 2 months before Nora was born. To me that all seems rushed and unplanned. I think they wanted it to happen at some point but didn't plan for it happening then.

              • Rossanera says:

They were quite young, too, weren't they? It's plausible.

              • cisarovna says:

As the facts are unknown to the general public I can't really refute your comment, but I would say that using their quiet wedding as evidence that Nora was unplanned might be a bit unfair as it is just as likely (or perhaps more so) that they just weren't interested in a public affair.

                • Cecillia says:

So uninterested in a public affair that they didn't even invite their friends and family though? That has never made sense to me. It's really neither here nor there for me. Just a thought.

                  • cisarovna says:

That is common for a civil ceremony. It is not unusual for there to be rules about how many people can present for sake of efficiency. I believe they had a separate party/reception for their family.

              • April says:

Pretty confused by this whole reaction above and below…

                1) 24/25 or whatever ages they were isn't all that young for getting married and starting a family, though it may not have been how they envisioned it. And calling children "accidental" may seem harmless, but it carries a bit of a negative connotation. Besides, I don't actually know that many people that have planned their children. How many of us can say our parents planned us? Babies happen when two people love each other very much… haha.

                2) The two of them were actually trying to have a little private time on the beach if you view the other shots and they were visibly upset with the photogs… I don't think that Olalla planned on donning that pink bikini for us all, much less show off her goods after taking a dip (come on… you've all suffered the same, only you don't have the 'razzi's after you). Boob job or not, they weren't meant for us to ogle, and Nando seems to enjoy them plenty fine!

WAGs that leech off the fame of their significant others I consider fair game, but I wouldn't even put Olalla near that league.

                • kel says:

I was a planned baby. All the kids in my family were planned. Most of the people know planned their babies. It's not such an usual thing at least to me.

And whether or not they were having private time or not doesn't change how tacky we may think the bikini/boob job are .They're unrelated things.

                  • Caitlin says:

I was a planned baby too, as was my sister.

I'm sorry, but whenever you hear women talk about how their contraception failed it's usually the same type of woman…too stupid to take the pill correctly or conveniently 'forget' it.

                    • kel says:

The only person I now who had an accidental pregnancy who isn't that type of girl had it happen because her doctor told her there was only a tiny chance she'd get pregnant in the next few years because of a condition she had that needed to clear up. She still should have been more careful but still…

                    • Raincitygirl says:

                      That's incredibly judgmental.

I was planned, as were my siblings. But I have a cousin who has 3 kids, only 2 of whom were planned. And she's got a PhD in genetics. Some people are just really fertile or just plain unlucky.

And unplanned doesn't necessarily mean unwanted. I live in a country where abortion is legal and fairly easy to get (and since most footballers and WAG's live in Western Europe, they're in the same position). If someone gets pregnant by accident and really doesn't want to be pregnant, they have options.

Maybe a couple didn't plan in advance to have a child at that precise time, and yet when the stick turns blue, they decide now's a good time after all. It happens, and not always to women who are stupid or manipulative.

                  • Mirella says:

That's great! Guess what? I was planned too, but it doesn't mean I don't know planned or not, the most important thing is that you make your kid feel it was planned!

And I think private time and bikini are related. Since you like to refer to yourself, I bet you would love the kickette army to judge on your underwear and bikini choice when you have a nice get-together with your partner. No, you like to keep private things private? Well, that's what Olalla tries to do all the time, unfortunately she fails sometimes.

                    • kel says:

It's not exactly private when they seem to be on a beach with a bunch of strangers.

A tacky outfit doesn't stop being tacky if only one person sees it. Sometimes context works in these situations but not always. Like, it would be tacky to walk down the street in your underwear but the same clothes wouldn't be tacky in the privacy of your own bedroom. This look she's going for here is, imo, tacky whatever the context.

                    • Raincitygirl says:

That's great! Guess what? I was planned too, but it doesn't mean I don't know planned or not, the most important thing is that you make your kid feel it was planned! </i.

Or at least, always make your kid feel it was wanted. A friend of mine knows perfectly well she wasn't planned, because her parents got married 7 months before she was born. It's never bothered her in the least, because she knows she was loved and wanted.

  25. Hot4Spurs says:

Balotelli never fails to make me cringe! He tries to show off during the Galaxy/ManCity game by backheeling the ball into the goal when he was in such a great position to just tap it in. He misses! Mancini removes him from the game for it and what does he do Kickette? He yells at his coach in front of thousands of fans and then stumps over to the bench like a spoiled child and continues his tantrum by throwing his water bottle onto the pitch. I usually fall hard for bad boys but this one is not doing it for me. I understand that it's just a summer friendly and it's really just for promotion and giving fans a chance to see their favorite epl teams play but the assholeness from him is getting out of hand.

    • AC_USA says:

Right there with you girl…that boy needs to grow up :) He is costing his team important goals! :)

      • Rossanera says:

… and Cesare Prandelli said that until he shapes up he'll never be called up for gli Azzurri, either. What a waste of talent.

      • Raincitygirl says:

He's twenty going on five. He's obviously had a troubled life, but he needs to find a good therapist and quit pulling stunts for attention on the pitch. He's incredibly talented, but he's never going to be a top player until he gets his act together.

On the bright side, at least he pulled this stunt during a meaningless pre-season friendly. I shudder to imagine what would have happened if he'd done it during an EPL or CL fixture. Mancini would've probably torn him limb from limb and the City fans would've helped.

    • Sarah, Madrid says:

I love how he was booed when he was subbed.

    • Hot4Spurs says:

I forget to mention how HOT Dzeko looks without a shirt! I should never let Balotelli get to me so much that I forget to lust after someone.

he's seriously ridiculous. my word, the kid needs to really grow up and learn some respect for his coach, his team mates and the fans.

Shame on Bin Hammam…i hate it when someone tries to corrupt the beautiful game of football!
    Damn Olalla looks hott!

  27. Rossanera says:

AJ Soares does not get nearly enough love. Were I in Boston (and not writing the bar exam), I'd totally go through all my singles at him.

    • Diavolina says:

Why would this be thumbed down?

      • Caitlin says:

Probably because there are so many sad people on here who thumb-down anything they don't agree with.

    • Leya_S says:

      Lol, agree.
      Good luck on the bar!

      • Rossanera says:

Thank you! That was so nice! Obviously I'm on Kickette because I just CAN'T STUDY ANYMORE! But oh, how I wish AJ Soares and Benny Feilhaber would be pouring me my celebratory libations …

Sad about the lack of mention of Chris Tierney… Next to Benny, he has got to be the best looking Revs player… heck, he goes in my tops list for the US. Yum! If I wasn't swamped with work I'd order a number of his beverages. PS- Benny is serving up vodka redbulls… I have to say I was disappointed once I read that- was hoping to get something tasty and Brazilian out of him!
