Yay! Cesc is back on the pitch – he scored in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Bolton. Wonder if he got our congratulatory welcome-back-you-Cescy-boy cookiegram?

Good weekend for Chelsea – they had some serious goal porn against Sunderland, winning 7-2, Ashley Cole (who looked mighty impressive) was given an apology by the BBC for the gross BNP interview incident and Frank Lampard was given the prestigious Football Writer’s Association Tribute prize.

Oh, Lampsy attended the awards with Bleakley. No, they weren’t photographed together. This no pics thing is getting old. CB also had a big cocktail-style ring on her left hand, third finger. As if.

Manchester United shut down their player’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. It’s a bad day for stalking, Kickettes. [via UF.com]

Now’s your chance to ask Louise Redknapp a question. Our suggestion: who did you consult before wearing that sequinsy number out in public which did not hold up well to the flashbulbs?

Cluj players Ricardo Dani, Tony Da Silva, Ricardo Cadu bought their WAGs dogs to keep them company in their absence.

The delicious Mikel Arteta is nearly ready for a return at Everton.

Happy belated to Victor Valdes, who turned 28 last week. His gaffer at Barcelona, Pep Guardiola, turned 39 yesterday.

Rino Gattuso opens a fishmonger gastropub type thing. FYI, his fav fish-dish is cuttlefish with peas.

Danielle Lloyd celebrated her engagement to Spurs’ Jamie O’Hara in a £26,000 dress – she says tabloid reports about a spat with Jordan are completely false, btw.

This right here. It’s why we will never understand the male mind. Hee.

You’d think we have actual work and other important things to do, but no. We’re watching 50 of the best World Cup goals and getting a headache from the anticipation.

Protect a WAG, buy a fake MP3 security doohickey.

Congrats Danielle, you made ur way around the footballing world and finally found one dumb enough to marry you. U are a hard working woman and for so much money she could have found a more flattering dress. That dress is a FAIL.
something tells me a chihuahua won't save you from a bad guy.
I just want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY OWEN HARGREAVES !
I second that!
Happy birthday to the Curly Haired One. Can't wait to see him back on the pitch!
He may be absent from the pitch, but never from our hearts! Happy Birthday, Owen!
While we're congratulating: Happy birthday to Nicklas Bendtner aswell
(he turned 22 on the 16th)
I’d have Rino Gattuso spoon feed me anything he wants. I just love him so much…!
Danielle’s dress is beyond words like Carly said, also is she pregnant or is it just an unflattering fit?
I was wondering that too!
pregnant or she really let herself go…
merida looks a bit frightened by the cesc-love.
Agh I love Cesc…I have decided to devote my life to him
Aah I love Cesc and his mini-me so much!

Anyone see little Cesc peeking through?
Well aren't you just awesome. We'll be taking this for further analysis. Merci.
I would really say ‘little’ Cesc :L
SNORK!
Brilliant.
Whew! Go go go mi amore Cesc!!! I am so glad that you’re back! Cheers! I hope he got that welcome-back-you-Cescy-boy cookiegram alright. He-he!
Cesc, mi amor! Bolton, if you continue to kick and push my Cesc around today there will be consequences.
Footballistically (thanks, Wenger) though, Cesc has become just kind of incredible this season.
He's bringing Cesc-y back!
Felicidades sexy Cesc. I’m glad he’s back.
Need to get myself to Gattuso’s restaurant. And we must eat a ton of fish together. nom nom nom.
omg – Danielle’s dress. I don’t think my english vocabulary has words for that kind of thing.
Wonder why the portuguese footballers in Cluj decided to all buy dogs. Must be a trend.
It was indeed a brilliant weekend to be a Chelsea supporter! The match with Sunderland was simply amazing. Chelsea played some beautiful football, and it was a fantastic team effort. Anelka and Ashley Cole were especially awesome, but I don't want to take anything away from any of them. And two goals for Frank- that's always wonderful! But I'm proud of every member of this team. And credit to Sunderland who, despite playing with less than their strongest team, never gave up, even after our 7th goal. I respect that tremendously, along with Steve Bruce's gracious comments in defeat.
Yeah, about the BBC radio thing, I guess it's better late than never.
But more importantly- CONGRATULATIONS TO FRANK LAMPARD!!!!! The FWA Tribute Award. Wow. I'm still getting a bit weepy every time I think about it. I Googled the award and read down the list of previous recipients and I was completely in awe. I think that's when I really started crying those tears of joy.
It is quite an elite group he joins there. I am grateful to the Football Writers Association for acknowledging Frank's hard work, talent and achievements, and honouring him with this award. I am so incredibly proud of Frank and so, so happy for him.
