Lazy Links & Randoms

Germany U21’s take home the big prize after yesterday’s trouncing of the lovely England lads. Join in their celebratory round of applause, they deserve it. Now let’s all get drunk. Oh, and check out video of all the goals here.

Do any of our readers follow the K-Leagues? They’re going through footie wedding season too.

Looks like we weren’t the only ones that struggled to get anything decent out of Adrian Mutu in a Q&A setting. Way to make an effort, mate!

It’s only Tuesday. Let’s make it better for you – check out the top ten hotties of the Confederations Cup.

Speaking of the Confed Cup, the Vuvuzela disease is spreading and Fernando Torres is the carrier.

Don’t look directly at the sandals and everything will be okay.

Is the transfer talk making you insane yet? Andrey Arshavin and Barcelona? Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid? Michael Ballack to Hamburg? Please, someone put us out of our misery and start the season already.

Get your library cards up to date, Kickettes. The first excerpt from the all-singing-all-slamming book about David Beckham in the MLS is out, and it’s juicy bitchy. (You can pre-order here, the book is on sale from July 14th.)

Cannavaro hottest player? Wow that list is so 2006.

  2. Boston Red says:

The Continental makes me LOL every time. I just read the excerpt from the Beckham book. WOW. Not all rainbows and butterflies in LA then? I will definitely be getting my hands on that.

  3. Forever Torres says:

Please don’t go to Barca Arshavin. The ‘Ars’ indicates how much you belong to Arsenal. Just like Arsene Wenger is the perfect manager for the club.
I think they got that Confederations Cup hottie list wrong.
    My top five would be:
    1) Fernando Torres
    2) Iker Casillas
    3) David Villa
    4) Kaka
    5) Xabi Alonso
That’s cute how they’re bringing the vuvuzelas back. I hope they were given them as a present though and they didn’t buy them. Glad my ears can have a rest from that noise – until the world cup.

I'm so happy the German boys won! I love England.. but I was rooting for Germany because they were incredible throughout the whole tournament. And I love The Berba LOL that is so funny.

Can't wait to get my hands on the Becks book. Would also love to be a fly on the wall when he returns there in a couple of weeks. I'm gonna stick up for him though because I think he must just be really frustrated. He's made a huge mistake but unfortunately realised it too late. The stuff about him not bothering with training when it was voluntary is just not him, he's never been like that. I just think his heart's not in it at all.

Aww, Manu and Benni look so cute!! Love the German guys :D

  7. Erin says:

Cute little German kids….my do they look young. As for that hottie list…Michael Bradley above Xabi Alonso??? Craziest thing I've ever heard!Love that the Spanish boys are taking vuvuzuelas home. I'm sure they will have vivid memories of them! LOL The Continental Berba is one of the funniest things on the internet. That photo is priceless comedy!I'm ignoring transfer season at this point. The Becks thing….I might feel bad for Landycakes if he weren't such a giant douchebag. Pointing at oneself and yelling "ME!" after scoring a goal in the Confed Cup final? Well, that's just the tip of the douche-berg.

  8. Bella says:

Can the Becks-book all be true? Can he really not have picked up the check for poverty-stricken team-mates? Can the famously sweet Terry Byrne really be Machiavelli? Was anyone else interviewed apart from Landon Donovan and Alexi Lalas—who obviously have absolutely no personal agendas. Can an LA kickette stalk a few of the other Galaxy players and get confirmation on each detail please? I’ve liked Grant Wahl’s football columns, but does anyone else wonder if these details aren’t a bit extreme and one-sided. Nothing in money or sport would surprise me anymore, but it would be nice if there were a FEW inaccuracies in there. If not…sad.

That’s the Adrian Mutu interview link!

Manueeeeeeeeeel and Benni, omfg they look soooooo good! Hey! Ballack cant go to Hamburg! he needs to stay at Chelsea, and last month he singed a new contract with Chelsea duhh. I cant wait to have in my hands the Beck's book! imagine how many pages that book is going to have!

  11. LizB (Mrs. Vucinic) says:

Hmmm I think I would have taken out Bradley and put in Feilhaber… and I'm sad to say I'm losing interest in Iker. It's a sad situation. Very sad. And much as I love Luca, I'm pretty sure Gila is far hotter <img src="http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b328/torstai/Azzurri/Gilardino/Gila2wpe.jpg">

  12. Anna (Frau Manuel Ne says:

manuel! hey you again at the main page! xDDD benni!!! *dies from the cute* NICE hottie list! cool to see JC there xD. don't agree with the kaka thing though. i mean, he is *pretty*. not a hottie. BERBA! oh the horror! and I'm just gonna ignore all the transfer rumors *cries a bit*

  13. TammyV says:

I wholely approve of that list.. though Iker could be higher up. Boca at three is totally acceptable, however. As for the Beckham experiament, I don't know of a SINGLE Galaxy player that wants Beckham back. They all pretty much loath him at this point. The rest of the book should be interesting

  15. Kleon says:

Lol trumpets, i heard an interview on radio to a spanish player telling about how Xabi Alonxo was so fed up with the trumpets that he end up throwing his trumpet lol

  16. aristeia says:

My goodness, those German lads look scrumptious.

Kickette, the Mutu link didn’t work for me. :(

Part of me wants to die when I hear the vuvuzelas, but I think it’s important for us to embrace the SA culture. It’s cute that they brought some home as souvenirs.

    The Continental completes me.

I can’t take transfer season any longer. I’m going to my corner now.

That Becks book excerpt was a pretty good teaser. I just might have to read that.
