Leo Messi & Clint Dempsey: Milestone Goal Guys

Happy Monday, Kickettes!

We hope your weekend was full of footy, frolicks and free liquor, and that you got the results you were after for your boys.

As we’re sure you’ve heard, Leo Messi notched his 72nd goal of this season – a new record for most goals scored in one season. After converting on a penalty kick during Saturday’s Barcelona vs Espanyol match – in what was outgoing manager Pep Guardiola’s final home game at Camp Nou – Messi made his way over to his mentor for a tender embrace. It immediately evolved into a group, first team hug. As it should have.

A day later, Clint Dempsey netted his 50th goal of his Premier League career, which was appropriately celebrated in two parts: first by Mousa Dembele manstrangling Mahamadou Diarra midfield, followed by Clint showering his kids with kisses whilst carting them around Craven Cottage.

More results-oriented news you can use in a bit!

Elyse and Jackson are too cute! I love the way Clint is with his kids. He gushes about them constantly and you can tell he absolutely adores them.

Thank you, Kickette staff, for giving Clint "Deuce" Dempsey some love on here! Deuce is a beast and we are proud of him back home in the States.

Guys don't you think Messi deserved to have his picture posted here? Even though you ignore his super cuteness, he's working so damn hard just to get a place here by scoring goals and playing so well..

Me too. Just think of what those two guys has accomplished! I wonder if any coach has gotten a sent off like this? Pep's career is fairy tale stuff for sure. From ball boy to the best coach in the world! Winning everything and in style.
