Liverpool FC: Pining For Our Pinterest
Image via LFC’s Pinterest page.
We’ve yet to get on Pinterest because we’re lazy. But if this is how the social network was intended to be used – with football clubs creating virtual walls of mancandy that rots our retinas – then we’ll be scouring for an invite to join shortly.
One debate currently sitting very well with us is a question Liverpool’s official Pinterest page put to it’s female (and male; we know it’s true. Your man card won’t be revoked for admitting it) fans and followers: who are the best looking players to have never walked alone?
According to Paul Rogers, Head of Content in Liverpool’s Digital Media department, it’s not who you may think.
You know it’s not our thing to to come over all judgmental when it comes to taste, but while the response to the query featuring past and present players of the club has been an enthusiastic one, Rogers states that user suggestions have thrown up one or two shocks, too.
“I thought Patrik Berger might have done better than he has but it seems Steven Gerrard is winning. A short-haired Andy Carroll and Daniel Agger are both proving quite popular too.”
Isn’t it funny what a decent haircut and a finely tuned rear can do to a woman? David James (with a shaved head) is even causing momentary lapses in reason in some fans’ minds – but let’s not drag up that whole Talking Balls controversy again.
Rogers added that this contest will probably be never ending and have no clear winner(s) at the finish line, which we saw as our opportunity to get all competitive and force Liverpool’s digital hand anyway.
Kickettes, of the existing array of fine specimen LFC’s Pinterest page has to offer, who is the one (1) player you’d deem “best looking ever”? Moreover, is there one (1) player missing from this pictorial showcase who you’re ready to hit the campaign trail for? Choose wisely because you never know which of your suggestions might be added to their gallery sometime soon…
