Apparently we are not the only ones who like to mock Manchester United players for their for poor clothing choices. Rio Ferdinand put his sartorial nous on the line in the United dressing room this week, donning a rather alarming coat type affair belonging to ‘one of the goalkeepers’ and tempting fellow Twitter users with a prize if they could guess who it belonged to.

We like to think that Rio accessorised the look with shorts, white socks and slip-on sandals deliberately, in order to emphasise the full horror of the risible rainproof. If you could confirm that for us, Rio, we might be able to sleep at night once again.

As for the coat’s owner? Our money’s on Tomasz Kuszczak. Although, van der Saar has form in the dodgy coat area, no?
