Manchester United: The Game, The League, The Afterparty
Manchester United are the Barclays Premier League Champions. Nice work, Red Devils.
Wait, before we continue: Rio Ferdinand didn’t play. Yet he’s in a towel. Reason number 256 why we love footballers.
A big, champagne-fueled congratulations go out to the team, who clinched the top spot in the league after their nil-nil draw against Arsenal at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Pics of the celebrations, awards dinner and the parade baller babies (the only good thing about the end of season, in our opinion) are attached below.
But let’s get to the news everyone really wants to know about: the after party.
Our exclusive insider sources tell us that the Manchester United party at The Living Room was a pretty well-behaved, quiet celebration.
It was an open bar upstairs in the VIP, so everyone was sloshed. No WAGs were in attendance. Cristiano was hanging out downstairs with the Portuguese massive having a great time beckoning wagabees over. There was some sort of pushy-shovey skirmish between G-Nevs and a “fat man” – people had to hold him back (WTF?!) Wayne Rooney disappeared into the casino on his own do do a little high rolling. And, Ryan Giggs let loose on the dance floor when the Happy Monday’s Step On came on.
Oh, what we wouldn’t give to have seen both Cristiano Ronaldo’s smooth moves and Ryan Giggs dance moves. Le sigh.
FYI: Nemanja Vidic was voted as the Manchester United Player of the Year award. Well done, Vida!

We have already discussed the reason why Rio would be in a towel in the United thread and we decided that he had to wash off all the Champers that was being sprayed about, not that we are complaining……………..at all! AND congrats to Nemanja for winning both the players player of the year and the fans player of the year, really well deserved Vidic.

An amazing THREE Premier League championships in a row, and an 18th top tier title. So proud of this team. BUT my congratulations go foremost to Sir Alex Ferguson, the greatest manager ever in the English game. His rivals fall by the wayside one by one – he is an absolute legend who deserves the the accolades of all (even you, Mr. Benitez).

So glad that you picked *that* photo for the main photo of the article, Kickette. It’s the favourite one in our thread. Many congratulations to our beautiful men for winning Title #18, and in front of the home crowd, too!!! The kiddos on parade were adorable (kudos for finding the photo of Rio with his son! That’s the first I’d seen of one of his boys that day.), and I really REALLY wish we’d been able to see the lads out partying Saturday night — especially Ryan’s dance moves.
The Players Awards last night were great. Three cheers for Vida who impressed both his fellow players and the fans!!! Congrats, you gorgeous Man Mountain, you!

I’m not the biggest fan of Giggs, but I don’t blame him. There’s no way you can listen to the Step On and not let loose on the dance floor. Especially if you live in Manchester.
