Midweek Champions League Results: Good For You?
And then there were four.
After two more action-packed UEFA days, Barcelona will face Inter Milan and Bayern and Lyon will square off in the semi-finals of the European competition. Sadly for us, there are no more English teams left in the tournament. Don’t know about you all, but pub chips are a plenty in Kickette HQ to ease the pain.
Also: what’s up with the lack of nekkidness? The one unidentified Bayern boy and another Barca pile-on ain’t cuttin’ it. If this is an omen of what’s to come then we’re quickly going to lose the will to write. Save us, Kickettes, and show some photo link love plus your thoughts in the comments.
SO proud of Bayern. Considering my deep seated hatred for Man Utd, I feel that loss was quite deserved. This does take the sting off Lyon advancing. I will certainly miss Yoann.
As far as the Barca match, that was almost hard to watch. I'm not an Arsenal supporter by any stretch but hot damn, Messi is on fire.
I was so MAD in wednesday!!!I was dreaming for Manchester United vs Bordeaux semifinal from the beggining of the season-so that Fergie can see Yoann-the most perfect man in the world,so gorgeous,so beautifull,with that lips,and those eyes…and of course THE eyelashes…complitly out of the track…(as always when i am talking about Yoann:-))anyway, i was saying Fergie will notice talentad Yoann Gourcuff and bring him to Manchester so that he can play with Rio,Patrice,Owen,Rafael,Fabio,Nemanja,Giggs…Ohhh gosh:-( and for the record-i hate Arjen Robben,or whatever his name is…

Me too hate the idea of Yoann going to Madrid! I am still recovering from Cristiano's transfer to that…well let's call it team! But had to admit that i am enjoying watching CR in white-so HOT when he's wearing WHITE!!!:-) but this thread is about one and only Yoann-i don't think that he is right for Madrid,especially if you consider the fact that mister I_AM_SHOPPING_PLAYERS_LIKE_GILRS_HEELS Perez want's Ribery…Yoann is meant to be player of Barcelona,or Arsenal:-) just imagine him celebrating goal with Fabregas,WALCOTT and Chamakh:-) mmmmm to good to be true…

Arsenal's loss and Cesc's injury last week truly broke my heart. and Nicky worked so hard to step up to the plate–everyone did! but Arsenal defense was clearly struggling. although i knew that a win at Camp Nou would be nearly impossible for us, i was praying for a miracle (in other words–that Messi would not be able to play for some reason or another). to add to my disappointment, Bordeaux couldn't get another goal and now i will no longer be able to drool over Lashes and Chamakh
but it's okay, because i like Lyon either way–and they deserved it.
i have no idea who to go for now though, however (no offense) i felt a little bit of solace in United's loss, since i can't stand them, not too many people had faith in Bayern, but i did!
besides, the semis wouldn't be right if United made it without Chelsea there anyway…
i absolutely DESPISE Inter (with a burning passion–AC MILAN FOREVER) so my picks for the final are either Barca and Lyon or Inter and Bayern simply because i feel that the Barca and Inter game is practically worthy of being a final. i really can't see any other finals, but i may be wrong, if Inter is in the final i will most likely cry–if they win i will burn my friend's jersey.
but after the way Lyon played against Bordeaux i think they might be able to hold their own against Bayern. if they can't i won't be too upset–i like Bayern anyway. if they make it to the final, i hope they win–if Barca win at the Bernabeu, there will be riots in the streets (lol jokes…but not really

I’m an Arsenal fan and also a Barca fan and I never really thought we could beat Barca and I definately though we’d never beat Messi…he was incredible and in my opinion the best player ever! Gutted that Bourdeaux went out…no more Yoann
But chuffed Bayern went through…still got Bastian

It seems the English dominance in late stages of the CL is slipping. Makes things more interesting for everyone else, I suppose.

) I was so happy after first 45 minutes but second half-time was bad but it´s not easy to play with 10 players. I feel so bad for Rafael, it looks like we lost game because of his inexperience but he is young and one day he will become great defender like rio and nemanja 
Now I support Lyon but I think Barcelona will break them all and win Champions League

I’m sure you would want Real to lose, if the final was at Camp Nou and Real was in it, and Barca wasn’t.
I’m not saying Barcelona doesn’t deserve to win til CL final. Because they are the team I’m with, if I had to choose between the four teams, that’s left, and I’m sure madristas would be proud that another Spanish team won, when it could no be Real Madrid.
But it’s gonna hurt if Barca wins the CL final at Bernabeu, because it is madrista grounds, not barcelista (dunno know to spell that)
From a neutral point of view Barcelona derserves to win, because they have been the best team consistently through out the whole turnament.
But my heart will break, if they end up lifting the trophy at Bernabeu in Mai.

thea love, there is a difference between cocky and confidence. my team has not shown "leaks" in liga in quite sometime. and IF we do lose to barca, i don't think it shows leaks (unless, horror of horrors we somehow have a double of last year, which i doubt highly) as you guys are an amazing team. i can respect my rival without having to get too ugly about it.
and i'm at a loss about the 22nd. unless you mean the 20th or may 22nd??

Man Utd showed up in a big way for this game. Lots of energy, control, confidence, brilliance…then…Rafael got sent off for something ridiculous. He looked so miserable walking off the pitch. Poor guy.
Regardless of the scorecard, I couldn’t be prouder of my team.
I’m now rooting for Jose and his boys.

Realistically it will be really hard for any team to challenge Barça and Lyon seem like the weakest link.
It's interesting that no EPL team is present for the first time in 7 years. One team from each country this year is more interesting than 3 teams from England from previous seasons, in my opinion of course.
