Midweek Results: The Home Stretch
We’re clawing at what we’ve got left in the regular club season since the time between now and the World Cup will be sub par in terms of Speedo fulfillment. Which, we guess is okay, since June and July will provide us with more footy excitement than we’ve seen in four years.
Here’s the top match results we caught this week:
- Joe Cole, Frank Lampard and John Terry shared jokes about their ensembles before taking the pitch for the Tony Carr Testimonial match. It’s wasn’t a real match, we know, but the result was hilarity.
- Inter Milan triumphed over AS Roma boys in the Italian Cup/Coppa Italia; they are one-third the way there to a Serie A treble. Totti saw red, tears were shed.
- Our congrats are extended to the Tottenham boys since the Spurs have finally cracked the elusive fourth spot in the EPL table.
- Another kudos goes out to Marseilles, who captured their first Ligue 1 title since 1992. Use your fingers + some toes.
- Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first hat trick for Real Madrid as Los Blancos defeated Mallorca 4 – 1. Gonzalo Higuain took a tumble that we would’ve enjoyed more had it not been for the base layers.
-Anyone else sad to see this season slowly slipping away? Are any Kickettes already out shopping for their season-opener attire?

I support Spurs and Marseille!
allez allez glory glory
I feel like the season started yesterday – all those hopes and dreams about the treble, excitement from Xabi Alonso’s arrival, sexy backs, Sergio’s lame clothes and Guti’s haircuts…now it’s all gone.
I saw that season going differently in my mind, but we still have the chance for La Liga title. One god damn point!
Awesome Wednesday of football – a lot going on!
Congrats to Spurs, to Inter and to l’OM, even though as a club I don’t have much sympathy for them, but I’m happy for Lucho and his 5th consecutive league title.
Really odd seeing Frank and Joe Cole in West Ham shirts again – I got really confused at first.
I'm absolutely miserable about the end of the season. But I JUST found out that Manchester is coming to the U.S. and desperate for an exciting World Cup to keep me going. Also getting married so that'll provide some excitement I suppose…
Bravo à Marseille
Awww, I’m a bit disappointed, Marseille won and provided so many pics of the players in their skivvies and they only get a mention
You should all def check out their website for some drool
Well done to them!
=O Excellent recommendation. Dressing room celebrations!
YAY for Cristiano!!! And congrats to the Spurs! It’s a little more interesting when the top 4 is shaken up a bit. (As long as ManU is still in it, LOL!)
I normally am sad this time of year, but I cannot wait for the WC, so this year I’m pretty excited! It’ll be here in NO TIME!!!!
Ahhhh, so proud of my lads! We deserve 4th, and we’ve got it, well 4th at least, watch out arsenal
ahaha!
Sooo happy for them, and you could really see how much it meant to them! And Kickette, not mentioning the ‘Arry video, I am surprised!
DB5 running around in his pants, I thought this would be your cup of tea! lol
I saw the Redknapp drenching and became transfixed by Bentley in his skivvies. Delish!
Lampsy!Lampsy!I Love you ,my Cutie!
So proud of my boys!!! Tottenham played their hearts out yesterday and gave Man City a run for their money. Bale was wonderful as ever but Dawson and King were magic. And holy cow! Aaron Lennon -I don’t think he lost a step after being out for 4 months. I prayed that we would make it to the top 4- and we did!!!!
Love- love- love Tottenham!!!!
Now bring on the World Cup!!!!
Hello everyone. This is my first ever comment here and hopefully many others will follow. My name is Nadia and I'm from Brazil. I love football (soccer to some) and I follow all the big European leagues very closely (I follow the MLS and, of course, the Brazilian leagues too). I don't have one favorite player… I have many! I'm really sad that the season is coming to an end, but thankfully the World Cup is a bit more than one month away. I think Spurs really deserve the UCL spot, so congrats to them. I won't congratulate Inter and Marseille because I don't like them that much. And I really hope Barça (one of the teams I support) win La Liga, so they can celebrate winning something.
welcome to Kickette… where Barca fans are always welcome! Hope you enjoy your daily fix!
Thanks Thea! Barça are one of the teams in my heart. I support them since 1998. They are the first European team I chose to support.
Yes, very welcome! Barca is my special team too, even though i have a big heart with room for many
.
Thank you, Zlatanista! I have a big heart too with plenty of room for many teams (and players), but Barça are my number one team, closely followed by Bayern and São Paulo (my team here in Brazil).
I'm so happy for my boys! The celebration photos put an even bigger smile on my face after winning! And I'm really glad Ledley and Michael were able to show off how good they were, I hope they both make it to the England team.
I'm so happy I think I'm kind of delirious. I couldn't watch the game because of work (stupid need to pay bills) and sat there all day with a goofy grin on my face. Ledley, Michael, Tom, Gomes, …hell most of the team should make it to the WC. COYS.
Awww Kickette, I know it doesn't even matter in the grand scheme of things but since it's possibly his Kickette debut and he's my special love (read: uncontrollable manical crush) the man with the amazing ass is Gonzalo Higuain.. not however you spelt it lol
<3
LOL Gonzolo! It's his evil base layered twin!
lololol! i didn’t even notice, too distracted by the loveliness that is pipa!
it must be his evil twin. last week there was a pick sans shirt. niiiiiice
Hee. We're idiots. Will fix xo
Congratulations Spurs and Marseille!
And yes, the end of the season always brings angst in a big way. But my team is still struggling! One point ahead of Madrid… It is so nervwrecking i have almost become numb. Tonight my two year old son said: "Goodnight Messi", before falling asleep. Am i ruining him?
A congratulation to Spurs and Marseilles! And the World cup need to be here right now, However it's sad though, because the country that will win the Worldcup will take all the glory, not who won their leauge so go on Chelsea take it!
I cannot wait for the seasons to be over… I need the World Cup like a crackhead needs the pipe
i love that pic of gonzalo <333 last week took of the jersey, this week nice rear in the air! whew! there were lots of nice shots from that game. am super proud of my team for being the 1st team in the league to win 30 games and (hopefully) score 98 points. unfortunately it is looking more and more likely that the "other" team will score 99. sad to see the season ending. but at least it's a WC year! hurrah!!
too bad for city
that's the team i decided to pick for epl
