New Kid In Town: David Villa To Barcelona
Goodness, we sure hope Barcelona FC treat the lovely David Villa’s soul patch and award-nominated bitchface with the tender care deserved. Both are the best in the biz.
We’re curious to know how our (very) (and we mean, really very) opinionated La Liga readers feel about Valencia’s future without Dah-veed, and how deep you think Barca’s pockets will be this transfer season.
Okay, we’re also curious to know which Barca player you think David will have a bromance with. We’ve got our fingers crossed for Bojan.
I am not gonna lie to you. After few minutes of searching (while having this almost heart attack) I am convinced that it's a mistake, the comment is surely about Iniesta!

I have no real opinion about Villa, but i guess it´s not surprising that he wanted to go to the best. I wish him good luck at my beloved club, and that he will help us to even more wins.
People are saying that barca is buying sucess. Well, so are everybody else. Not many clubs can boast about having so many homegrown players, though.
And as for the bromance partner, and think Iniesta needs a hug now and then. They seem to have the same frame of mind also

I feel more sorry for the other teams other than RM who wont have a chance in hell to even compete for LA LIGA…it seems the top 2 teams in LA LIGA just want to buy success…..there is no competitive edge to the league must be depressing for teams below the top 2 to be in this predicament….ohhh well i guess now cesc will be next to sign the dotted lines for Barca, hope he does it sooner rather than later we could use his transfer money to hopefully (fingers crosssed) by some quality players…and i know this is a bit off topic but i would like Cesc to come out in public and state that he wants to leave Barca i think we (THE FANS) deserve more respect! we all know he wants to leave he might as well come out and say it instead of talking in riddles!

I'm glad he's moved to Barcelona. He'll fit in perfectly over there. Also if they keep Ibra, just think of the front line they'll have- Pedro, David, Zlatan and Messi.
The only regret is the breaking up of the awesome threesome that is Juan Mata, David Silva and David Villa.
And as far as the bromance goes, I think he and Xavi might start something up. Messi's already sewn up Bojan.

Actually Cesc has been with us for 7 years…he basically grew into a man and we developed him into the player he is today…he couldnt break into the first squad at barca, so he he took his chance at arsenal I think arsene/Arsenal deserve more respect instead of him trotting of back to barca eventhough he pledged his future at arseal not so long ago

Cesc wants to leave because he's a great true footballer, in the sense that he wants/likes competition and winning trophies. Also Barcelona is his home, his family is there, his best friend plays for Barcelona (as do many of his other Spanish NT mates & childhood friend/teammate Messi), and Barcelona is being coached by his idol, Pep Guardiola.
It's time for him to come home. The fact that he has come out and said he wants to come to Barca to the media…it better happen or who knows how it'll be for him at Arsenal next season (w/ the fans)

I am heartbroken over this. Not least because this was a transfer that was entirely UNWANTED by both club and player. He never wanted to leave us. He only would have done IF we needed him to. And obviously, now was the time we needed him to. Valencia's debts are well documented, and he won't be the first or the last of our current team to go. Yes, it sucks for us because we're losing our stars, but it doesn't have to mean the end for Valencia OR La Liga's competitive side. A Valencia side with no stand out striker won La Liga in 2001/02 and that was after RM's first big splash of cash. There's no reason why we can't do the same again. Yes, we're losing stars. We're also losing high paid players from the roster and bringing in cheaper, younger and lesser known talents in their place, so it's not like we're going to fall apart without the likes of Villa and Silva. Yes, it's going to be harder to compete at first, it's a whole new team and a whole new system, but we could lose everyone in the current side over the summer and replace them with new people and be challenging for the title next season.
There's far too much being made of the fact that we ARE being forced to lose players people see as big names, the ones we get to keep because nobody is interested are just as talented. They wouldn't BE at a club like VCF if they weren't. Besides, lets face it.. Valencia have won a grand total of ONE cup with the Davids in the team. Two if you count the Spanish Supercopa. As much as I love them, it's not exactly like they were boosting our squad and winning us silverware year after year. Valencia don't need them to survive. Anyone who thinks we're going to crumble without him obviously doesn't know the heart and passion these boys play with. No player is bigger than the team, we can come out of this stronger. I believe in every single one of them and I am proud of them all.
Seeing all the hate going on because of the team he's at now, I'm going to be the bigger person here and wish him luck with the new stage in his career. He doesn't deserve to be hated/disliked for moving to a club people aren't fans of. Not everyone can be kept happy. David Villa is probably of the classiest players in the league right now. He left us with a heavy heart and only because he was forced to. I'm glad we got to keep him for so many years and he's given us so many great memories in the shirt. I am never going to stop loving this guy, no matter where he plays. No offence, but anybody who can suddenly dislike him because he plays for their team's biggest rival is not really the kind of fan he needs in the first place. Besides, I think Barca are totally a better option for him than Real Madrid would have been, so I'm glad he's there. I'd rather he had stayed with us of course, but considering that wasn't an option any more, then this is the best option IMHO.
Bromance wise though, I'm going to be bitter and says I hope he doesn't gel with anyone. The on pitch understanding he had with Silva and the close relationship he had with the entire VCF team is something that was special to me and it's going to hurt seeing him show that affection to anyone else.
As for Barca's other transfer activity, I honestly don't know about that. I've heard from Barca fans that this is just pre-election craziness, so who knows, maybe they will splash the cash this year. I won't be all that impressed if they do tbh, there really needs to be a spending curb limit if they want there to be a level playing field in La Liga. The big two can spend, we all know that. We also know full well that others cannot. It's about time something was done about that to give us fans a proper competition and not turn it into a money dominated farce.
