Niko Kranjčar: Shilling & Strange Women

Image Credit: Davor Pongračić/Cropix. Tip & translation help via Roza. Cheers girl!

Pause for a moment, Kickettes, and feast your eyes on Niko Kranjčar’s reaction to our Croatian correspondent’s unscheduled entry** (via the window, on a rope, blind with lust or possibly the previous evening’s make-up) into Wednesday’s Adidas Predator launch in Zagreb.

After he’d recovered, and our intrepid reporter had taken advantage of the on-site medical facilities, he broke away from boot porn banter to talk about his private life and plans for the future. You can just stare at his tousled beauty for the rest of your life (you can, we tried it) but we recommend you follow the jump for information vital to any decent stalking campaign.

Your choice.

Let’s get the tough stuff out of the way early, shall we? When asked how he’s enjoying fatherhood, Niko told reporters how much he enjoys being a dad and finds little difficulty in balancing both his career and family life. After being pressed by the journos as to whether he and wife Simona plan to have more kids, Niko offered a shy smile. Sigh.

When asked whether he had thought about possible careers Niko shunned the usual post baller routine of pundit, product shiller or contestant on a celebrity dancing show and revealed he quite fancies doing a uni degree, maybe in economics, since he likes ‘adding and deducting’. We’re guessing that sounded better in Croatian?

He also might consider coaching, but admitted that he and his family have made no firm decision about whether they will return to Croatia after his professional football playing career is over.

At this point, our rep attempted to persuade him that Croatia was the place to be**, overcoming her myriad injuries to launch herself at him whilst removing clothing and bandages. She was led away and therefore missed the rest of the presser, but we doubt much happened after that.

Worth going though, no?

**Clearly, this didn’t happen for realz. But it did in our minds.

His dad was sacked today from the position of national coach of Montenegro who by the way are doing very well holding on the second position, but defeat and a draw in the last two games were too much apparently for Dejan Savicevic(former Milan striker) and now president of their football association.I think considering the team they have Zlatko Kranjcar did an amazing job and according to reports fans wanted him to stay.I think his dad is unfortunate, when Croatia didn't get past the group stage at WC 2006 in Germany he was sacked and everyone accused him of favoring his son and his son continued to be in top 11 even after Bilic came and we didn't qualify for WC in South Africa and Bilic still has the job.

You're right! Bilić is getting a lot of criticism lately, as you know he's been on thin ice since they failed to qualify but the public stuck by him hoping he's learnt something from it. He's still making the same mistakes and it really looks like he's void of ideas. He said he'll leave at the end of qualifiers and I don't think anyone will complain about it this time around.
I would love nothing more than to have Cico as NT manager again. He really was unfortunate in 2006, what with the quality of team he had then and the press turning against him, just because the story about him favouring Niko made for sensational headlines.
Apparently Savičević fired him precisely because of his popularity with the fans, he felt threatened – that's the story I've heard. It really doesn't make sense to let him go 2 games before the end, when they still have a chance to secure playoffs.

Oh man, loves being a dad, wants to get an economics degree! Wasn't it painful enough that he's just so damn gorgeous, now we have to live with further knowledge of his perfection?! That wife of his is one lucky lucky lady.
